  1. Anderlecht have sold / are selling two players to Newcastle, so it would be surprising to see him leave.

Re. ITK's. Given the last couple of weeks has made everyone desperate for good news, there's bound to be a bit of disappointment when little snippets are posted which ultimately lead to nothing.  I know my comment was more in jest than anything.

  2. just to distract from the tedium of the 'how we should line up thread'

Spurs fans are celebrating after some Villa ITK has suggested we are getting Adebeyor on a season loan. Doesn't mean they are right though.

Wasn't that ITK based on Spurs ITK?

Seems the ITK's don't even know what they're ITK about.

  3. has anyone said yet -

medical is being held up because they are doing additional tests on an existing knee problem

tweet from the times merseyside journo, cant remember him ever having knee trouble before

That's because he doesn't and the account is a wind up.

The journo's real twitter handle is @TonyBarretTimes not @HealyLFC

  4.

Austin , townsend, praet and amavi . Could get all 4 for the benteke money I reckon . and I for one would rather them then benteke

Think all four of those would cost more then £32.5, plus factoring in signing ons and agent fees.

Still I wouldn't be adverse to signing any of them at the rght price.

Not only that but genk will reportedly receive 15% of the transfer fee which would be close to £5 million.

15% of any profit on what we paid for him.  So 15% of £24.5m = c£3.7m.

  5. It's from Twitter.  Apparently the Spanish media are reporting it (although I can't see any articles).

Likely last minute brinkmanship by the agent.  We obviously want the guy, so why not try and get a better offer for the player and himself?

  6. The Mail are really getting pathetic now...

Christian Benteke may have to force the issue if he wishes to leave Aston Villa. The Belgium international is set on a move to Liverpool and the Anfield club want him but there is an impasse over their reluctance to pay the buy-out clause. The onus is falling on Benteke to make a stand and say he wants to leave. It would not guarantee Villa stepping down in their valuation but would bring the saga to a head.

Liverpool may be willing to reach the £32.5million clause with a bid of £20m plus add-ons but Villa do not wish to lose face.

Tim Sherwood would like Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor at Villa and winger Andros Townsend.

Tottenham want £15m for Townsend while the issue with Adebayor will be his wages

For such a "big club" they sure are making this harder than it needs to be.

  7. Being linked with Sergi Darder.

    http://www.calcionews24.com/l-aston-villa-vuole-chiudere-per-darder-450068.html

CALCIOMERCATO INTER ROMA ASTON VILLA Darder -

After toying with the idea of playing in the Italian league for Sergi Darder I can open wide the doors of the Premier League. The Spanish midfielder ofMálaga , has learned by our staff, it is close to closing with Aston Villa. There is an agreement with Malaga for a figure close to ten million Euros but the club of Birmingham should be finalized before the two supplies.

ROME WINDOW - Darder like Inter and love to Rome where he Sabatini in a fan. The player and his entourage are in question with Aston Villa and could come soon for the white smoke.

Can't say I know much about him.

  8. Bang goes his career.  I'm sure the money will be worth it though.

Honestly cannot see who he will be replacing in their first 11, so he's purely going to sit on the bench.

  9. Does anyone else offer odds on this?  Or is it just SkyBet?

Always the chance that they're suspending for effect, so that when they re-open betting people flood to get money on something that is nowhere near, or is that too optimistic a hope?

  10. The deal seemingly looks unlikely, but you would have to believe that there is some interest from the player.  Otherwise, why continue to waste our time?

It may well be that the "rumours" of our interest in other LB's is a play on our part.

  11. So the Liverpool friendly press trying to get Benteke his "dream" move.  He's even ready to try and force the issue when he returns to training.

I'm sorry, but how can he force the issue?  I don't think he can seriously expect us to lower the price below a clause that he agreed to when he signed his new deal.

I seriously hope another club trumps Liverpool to any deal.

  12. It's also on the express

Manchester City set to complete deal for £100,000-per-week England international MANCHESTER CITY are set to complete an £8million deal for Aston Villa star Fabian Delph, according to reports.

The Citizens are looking to bolster their ranks with a number of English players this summer in order to meet home-grown regulations for the upcoming Premier League season.

Manuel Pellegrini has allowed the likes of James Milner, Micah Richards and Scott Sinclair to depart the Etihad, and Goal claims the Chilean is now set to make Delph his first signing of the transfer window after the England international agreed a long-term contract worth £100,000-per-week.

City have also been linked with moves for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere and Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, although a £40million bid for the latter has already been rejected by Brendan Rodgers.

However, Pellegrini is expected to return with another offer for the winger as he looks to challenge Jose Mourinho's Chelsea for the title.

City are also exploring deals for Juventus' Paul Pogba and Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne, withAston Villa's Christian Benteke also an option.

But there could yet be more Etihad exits this summer, with Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko linked with moves to the Serie A.

Edit - He is quoting Goal.com as his source... Really Journo. Really?

  13. It's TalkSport so I wouldn't be too worried about it yet.  Kristof Terreur is a journalist on twitter and he is usually spot on, and first, on exclusives with Belgium players.

He's not said anything yet so it's probably TalkSport spouting rubbish.. I hope.

  14. Would the CEO of a plc be required to consult Shareholders when appointing a senior manager?  Nope.

Why would this be any different?  Randy may be Chairman, but he has appointed someone to run the club in his stead.

  15. I tend to avoid the arena's purely because of that issue.  I only venture there when I need to farm red eyes.

I find the Iron Bridge with a red soapstone is best for similar level dueling.  Undead Crypt and Shrine of Amana for invasions.

  16. I only recently got Scholar for next gen and I am loving it. Much like a lot of people, I played Bloodborne for a while then decided to pick up Dark souls 2 for ps4. The game does feel different even for me who beat it numerous times on the 360. I really love the online interactions. Summoning is so much quicker now and hit boxes are an actual thing. No more 10ft long katana swings. Boss fights are a joke if you summon people though. I am grinding for sunlight medals and often it's a 4vboss fight. It makes the fight so quick which I like cause I get medals quickly but it's stupidly easy. I try to limit myself to one summon per boss fight cause otherwise it's silly. I killed the spider boss first time with help whereas the first time I played on 360, I remember it took me over an hour. That partially has to do with me knowing her attacks and where to attack, but it was still far too easy. NG+ should be a hard, but fun challenge.

I also love how large the game is. Bloodborne just doesn't compare honestly. So many areas to explore. I've played 40+ hours and am not even half way.

There were a few issues with the original release but the remaster seems to have fixed the vast majority of those issues (hitboxes / soul memory).  Some of the additions are fantastic (dragon shrine!!).

I've gone back to this from bloodborne purely because the multiplayer is so much better.  Invasions and co-op are much easier to find and the end game feels so much longer now that all the dlc's have been included.  However, that may be due to it taking 15 attempts to beat Sir Alonne...

  17. Ha, yeah I've spoiled Father Gascoigne for myself a little. Everyone says he's really tough.

Ah well, if it was easy it wouldn't be anywhere near as fun! I'm sure I'll change my tune after my fifth time of fighting him.

I do know about the music box, however

    ;)

Biggest tip I can offer is to practice parrying on the humanoid enemies.  Most attacks are quite easy to telegraph, so a quick gun to the face and a visceral attack wrecks most enemies in the game..

This is especially true of Gasgoine.  Also, he becomes weak to fire once he transforms so save your Molotovs for the end of the fight..

  18. Could this be the window we finally land Defoe ?

Really hope we sign a striker - for all the talk of lack of creativity, we are woeful in front of goal.

Being reported in the north east that he has / is signing for Sunderland in a £14m deal that includes Altidore going the otherway and that he will be on £80k a week.

Good Striker but if that deal is true then Sunderland have been had.
