To be fair they did say there were going to be restrictions.
That immediately has to mean "anywhere that away fans will be getting out will be shut".
My mate (first game at VP) was due to go past there and I just told him - go around the stands to access in that area.
While it could have been made clearer (100% agreement there) it was pretty obvious to any regular VP visitor what was going to happen.
Ambiguous is what it was going out those gates and turning left should be allowed. Turning right to walk down Witton Lane past the way fans ok I get that.
You still have all the Lower North and Witton Lane fans coming out where the away fans are so here is a novel idea. Keep the away fans in for 30 mins like they do with us at Blues or in certain European games.

I didn’t see it at full time but I’d put money on it just being a cordon which would mean Villa fans in the Doug Ellis or Holte heading towards Witton station would have to go via Trinity Road even if it meant going all the way round the outside of Villa Park. Same thing tends to happen when we play the Blues.
AZ Fans were fine of course. I know the Dutch have a bit of a reputation but the whole thing seems to be a dress rehearsal for the Legia Warsaw game where the police have genuine concerns.
The gates were shut from North Stand Car Park onto Witton Lane.
Why they did not just say those gates were shut so no access I have no idea. As you had people from Trinity and The Holte walking to their cars that way to find it shut.
Restrictions are fine just define it not make it guess work.

Same here. And I do think you appreciate how bad it is when you're actually at the game rather than on TV. Watching highlights this morning, Ollie and co should've been going crazy after a late winner, reeling away to the fans (remember Dougie against Watford?). Instead we get subdued high 5s and everyone watching the ref. It's awful, I don't care what anyone says, it's ruined the game, you'll never change my mind.
Yep it's getting worse you would have thought they would have sorted out the issues after 3 years!
I think it transmits to the fans as well these days you don't really see people letting go in celebration in case they make tits of themselves.

That Saliba is some defender. Reads the game with ease.
And who signed him for Arsenal? The Sultan of Unai.
Man knows a player when he sees one.

I always wondered how the 1936? Relegation must have been seen. Villa were far and away the most successful club in the country at that point.
To quote Eric Houghton "we thought the end of the world had come. Villa had never been in the 2nd Division before."
They need to update the Villa History video loved that as a kid!

One game at a time Forest are decent at home so we will need to be on our game next Sunday. Nice to have no midweek game for Unai to come up with the masterplan.

At least they have Bellingham banging them in for Real! You know the best player in the world they sold for peanuts

Could pep do it at a villa or west ham though? He only takes jobs that are already at the top
He is offered those jobs because he is good at what he does though. That Barca team was successful under Rijkaard but Pep took it to the next level. What happened to Rijkaard
If he took over Villa or West Ham I am sure both would have relative success. It takes players to buy into the managers ideas.
Any club where everyone is as one will do well that is from top to bottom.

Klopps only has success at liverpool and dortmund. If you look at emery he has had success at more clubs than klopp.
Peps a check book manager
Klopp did well at Mainz too.
Pep might be at clubs with infinite wealth and can sign anyone he fancies but it's his system and way of playing that has made him successful any team can spend millions see Utd and Chelsea.
Pep is a Cruyff disciple and has perfected that system wherever he has been.
It's upto other coaches to tinker these systems to beat them and that is what we are seeing with Unai and Postecoglou.
Football evolves let's hope our messiah is ushering in a new era and we become the team to knock Pep and Klopp off their perch.

I liked how the instant the ball hit the net for his goal, Tielemans was turning round to shout out the quality of McGinn's pass
Yeah it seems they are a tight knit group.
I noticed that Tielemans and Bailey were chuffed with the 4th goal Sunday too which probably gave them the confidence for last night and that sense we belong in this team.
Not forgetting Carlos and Lenglet who contributed too.
It's lovely to see. Emery the Don.

So i assume if they don't get promoted, the fee will be less.
So why the mini meltdown?
Yeah let's look who has been bought from The Championship and what it cost. I mean there can't be many above 15 million that have had no Premier League experience. Watkins, Benrahma, Konsa all from Brentford before they got promoted is about all I can think of.
Whatever the price is we have had 5 million to take off it so we are in a good place should he smash it you ask me.
He is at the right club to showcase his talent Rosenior seems a great forward thinking coach.

Spurs flatter to please - they’ve had a very favourable fixture list and kept injury free. The Arsenal win was impressive, but the real tests will come.
They drew 2-2 at Arsenal.
Took a last minute goal to beat 9 man Liverpool.
Beat and average Man Utd.
Played the bottom feeders in the rest of the games.

Regarding 5th place getting Champions league...we won't know until the latter stages of this year's European competitions.
If we still have clubs in the semi final of the europa and champs league (and even us in the conference league) then its likely we'll get an extra spot and 5th place will get it. If they've all been knocked out by then, the spot will go to some other country (probably Spain and Italy).
So we have to cheer on the rest in Europe yuck
Still now Man City have won it I guess it's not as bad as before.

Agree
I meant not being able to show them on TV, most games should be Saturday 3pm but available to watch
Sky putting games Friday night, Saturday lunchtime evening and night, 2 on a Sunday and then monday night is bullshit
I'd have nothing Friday, 1 game Saturday lunchtime or Saturday night, all the games Saturday afternoon, 1 game Sunday afternoon, nothing monday
Trouble is they won't pay the billions for less slots.
Gotta milk that cash cow however much it pisses off us match going fans.
Premier League is the World's League now not England's.

Yeah but he got to 2 semifinals and a final. Who can you get that will do a better job™?
Stevie Wonder could see picking players on form and who actually play weekly or playing players in their natural positions might give us more?
