  1. Bizarre.

All out defence and long ball to a striker (whether Hogan / Gabby) who can't win headers or hold up the ball. And even if they did, there'd be no-one anywhere nearby to do anything with it. It was like we were playing Man Utd at Old Trafford and just didn't want to concede.

We can blame the players for being a bit rubbish, but there wasn't much chance to do anything else if they've been told to hoof it to no-one, and defend for 90 minutes.

    A tactical shambles.

It's depressing looking at that image.. Could we have made it any worse? The big club message is embarrassing not even factoring in Delph and Benteke no longer play for us. Clark is a back up player now, Grealish has been dropped, Gabby has been dropped and Sinclair has been dropped.. So the players the club clearly saw as our "big" name players don't even play for us all that much anymore.. Such a terrible image.

Obviously it's terrible. But to be fair, it was before released before we signed 13 players. So slightly more reasonable that our key players now aren't the ones on that image.

  3.

We're 3/1 to beat Bournemouth next Saturday. BOURNEMOUTH!

    Like printing money.

Wonder how many people had a bit of this. Not one person went for a Villa win in the PL predictions thread

£20 on it. Told everyone it was easy money ;)

  4. Wages per goal? Why not games per goal? Or even wages per goal when playing in a Tim Sherwood style team? Rather than adding on the £7m he picked up not being picked last season, why not just look at when he has been picked since he probably will be for us?

Or work out how much Darren Bent has cost for the last two seasons per goal for us?

Pointless article that shows nothing of any use.

  5.

so now we're down to Richards (still think he's a better right back), Clark and Senderos (who Sherwood doesn't seem to rate given his lack of pre-season starts)

    bloody nora

hope we've got a good one (or even two!) up our sleeve

Crespo too who can play LB, CB and RB.

    And Okore...

  6. He may be 31. He may have personal issues. And he may not have played much for the past year.

But he's a big player, who has played for and scored goals for massive clubs. If we didn't have Sherwood, there's NO WAY he would want to play for Villa in our current state.

So with that in mind, I'm calling this one a coup.

    COUP.

I never understand the "Wish him luck" bollocks. He's no longer apart of Aston Villa, I dont give a **** what he does for any club after us. In I hope he does poorly obviously as he playing for another team we are competing against.

No bitterness here, but good luck? really? **** no.

Because some people have empathy. And some people are able to see them as human beings. He seems like a nice guy, he did great for us and he's a talented footballer - so I hope he does well...just obviously not against us. The same as I hope Ian Taylor's headphones business goes well - he's a good bloke and I hope he's successful.

And let's be honest, unless they're on the same pitch as us, we're not really 'competing against' Liverpool.

Nonsense. He's not my friend. He was employed by something very important to me and did his job very well. That's as far as it goes. Ian Taylor supports the same club we do so its totally different. DId you wish Dwight Yorke luck and best wishes when he left? Or Downing? Or Ashley Young?

Also, he's gone to the club I hate the most. I would not only enjoy it if he flops badly, I dearly hope he does.

I understand your point of view completely. Just personally, I appreciate them as individuals on a very different level to how I support of Aston Villa.

Yorke and Downing are different because of how they left. But I still hope, say, Milner does well elsewhere because he seems like a good guy. If Laursen or Mellberg became managers at clubs, I'd hope they do well. Players that I liked and respected, I want to do well.

But obviously Villa comes before any of it. UTV!
