You see General, I simply do not agree with this post. And i know for a fact a lot of villa fans who wouldnt either. Today's reaction is NOT because of TODAYS NEWS. It has been building for some time now. If AVFC had signed an amazing midfielder to replace Gareth Barry then you wouldnt have had the same reaction...BUT We havent. and we look lacklustre in the transfer market. Villa Fans are dissapointed General. I think you need to look past all the 'ass kissing' that you get in this thread. Not everyone is with you General. People will come on here and praise you because your rich, succesful and powerful, i wont. I look out for AVFC and the results ON the pitch. You have to sometimes put forward what you think general and i think your honeymoon period may come to an end soon. I for one do not believe everything you say. Upthevilla

General, Wish Gareth Barry well for me. He has been a great servant for our club. 10 years good work. How can you blame a player for wanting to join Liverpool. They have a right back, a left back, a right midfielder, and are looking to strenghten with signing players like Robbie Keane for 20 million pounds. There board is showing real ambition to try and break man utd and Chelsea. Here's to losing our best player but being able to have a pint in the holte pub before a game (A demoralised) UpTheVilla!

General, For the first time today, i did something i i thought id not do whilst villa were under the guidance of MON and Randy, and that was to turn down a ticket for the match on saturday. To be honest id rather work on saturday and earn money than go and watch villa at the moment. Im getting seriously pissed off with the fact that the club have hiked up season ticket prices (and i dont wanna hear 'its good value for money' - £500 is £500) and have been so utterly shambolic in the transfer market. You expect the fans to pay extra? but what are we paying extra for exactly? to see the new flag? to see the nice decorative work on the exterior/interior of the ground?....... We as fans want to see new signings. Im fed up of people from within the club sayin this will happen and that willl happen. Wheres the action? MON came out today and said something ludicrous like 'other teams arent that busy either'. But with all due respect, other teams have a sqaud of players and have right sided players? its not just a case of other teams not buying players is it surely? we have...what? 15 first team players? No right mid? No right back? No GK? Back up left back? and to top it off we have Zat knight? You constantly have people on here saying '99.99999999% of fans support MON and Randy' and whatever, but i think this is a poor reflection. I personally work with 4/5 villa fans and all are constantly talkign about our ineptness in the market. Now whilst i understand there is time left in the market to alter this but it all seems so desperate and rushed. The new players (if there are new ones) will have limited chance to bed in with the squad. We are in a far weaker position than last season and to top it off our best player wants to leave and has slagged off our Manager. The response to this will be the same as always 'Randy and MON know what we need' and i appreciate this General. Im not having a go at you because i understand you are not involved with the transfers, but you MUST MUST be able to see what is happening? I mean what does MON do all day? From where im sitting, it seems the club either has no money or has a poor manager in charge when it comes to the market. 16-6th is good yes? But what exactly does 6th get you? I cannot see us improving next year because we simply havent stengthened and there is only negative signs coming out of the club at the moment. MON constantly denies potential targets and recently a lot of emphasis has been placed on the youth team and the youngsters signalling our intention to bleed them through rather than sign quality. I know this seems like a rant but i feel i speak for some villa fans when voicing my concerns. Im very disallusioned at the moment with AVFC because i can just see another medicore season for us. I spend most of my limited money on the Villa but i just cant see us improving at the moment. I dont know whether you need to reply to this because it isnt even a question. i just neeeded to get it off my chest because i love my team and i cant see how we are going to improve with MON in the transfer market.

General, There is evidence you have commented on the Bentley transfer saga on another Fans website. It also seems the post you wrote was in the past tense as if we have bid for bentley has either been rejected or has been rejected by the player. Is this transfer dead in the water? General, Just renewed my two season tickets (one adult, one student). Its probably been mentioned before, but the student pricing system seems a bit ridiculous. £415 for a student, £450 for an adult, is their really any point of having a student price!?!? Im not going to moan too much though, i think the prices are very fair compared to other clubs, £865 for two season tickets for a premiership club is very good value. He has a family settled down here and is a club hero yet he decides to go and sit on a bench at a club in turmoil cos two silly americans realised they werent wealthy enough to buy a football club. Great post General, Gareth Barry is a bad words. Please don't. I dont swear very often, but this is how i feel. The way you are dealing with it is so awesome. I find it funny the way liverpool simply cannot afford him and are trying so avidly to raise the funds, hilarious stuff. lets face it, he aint even that good general. General, Whilst the club has been run superbly over the last year or two, some things do still shock me Why oh why, when it is clear players like ashley young and gareth barry look to their clubs to match their ambition, does our manager come out and say that villa are unlikely to break into the top 4?!? General, All this constant talk about Gareth Barry is starting to really annoy me I have praised you on many occasions about the way you and Randy have ran this club, and in all fairness it has been run well. You have quite blatantly got a case of one manager talking rubbish and tapping one of our players up. Unbelievable. Such a good response general. Im sure if a team like Tottenham or Liverpool did such a thing it would be splashed across the press like they were heroes. I love where AVFC is going. Your constant attempt to attract/make new fans and intergrate the community with the football club is superb. Your leadership of my club is so good general with all the things happening on and off the pitch. Its such a change from the past. A lot of friends at work take the piss outa me screaming 'USA!, USA!' as if it is an insult. They merely take the Gillet and Hicks farce to be a given for our club and that Americans havent got any idea how to run a club. But you sir are a hero. Just seen the season ticket price increase General. Although a tad annoying, they seem to be still set at a reasonable price and im still quite happy to pay that amount for a season ticket. Now we just need the board to spend the extra revenue in keeping the likes of Gareth Barry and complimenting him with players like Rafael Van Der Vaart and Diego.... Cheers General UPTHEVILLA

General, I went paintballing the other day for the first time and i couldnt help but think afterwards if those paintballs were replaced with bullets, what it would have been like. I know its no comparison, but i cant imagine what its like to be shot at with people trying to kill you! If you slightly stick your arm out or your head up you will be shot. Its mad. Based on my paintballing experience, it makes me proud to have a bloke like you at the helm, someone who has done something so daring and challenging like fighting in wars. General, There has been several stories in the paper about our captain and hero gareth barry being sold to liverpool. I would be absoultely devestated If Barry left the villa and therefore i ask you to do everything in your power to stop it.
