  1. with Stoke, who are all about tempo and drive, this is true. But with West Brom, a pressure-off style game might suit their style. They will be free and easy and QPR might just suffer under the pressure. We'll see. It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that one of those games will be a draw, which means we should be fine. I can just about see QPR getting a point at City, but not winning.
  2. 25/1 to go down on Bet365. Worth a punt before the matches kick off this afternoon if you can bear betting against your team...
  3. We just need to equal the result of either Bolton or QPR today. It really is as simple as that, with the goal difference as it is. Obviously given that we are pure shit at home, we need to hope that one of those teams lose!
  4. I predict that after tomorrow's game we'll be safe. Why? Because I fancy West Brom to win at Bolton.
  5. I assume you've put your life savings on that to happen at Stan James then - you can still get 10-1 as of now from that bookies.
  6. That point today, away from home, was MASSIVE Given's save will probably keep us in the division, because it's fairly likely that both Blackburn and QPR will lose two of their next three. I was worried if we'd lost today as QPR will probably beat Stoke at home - however, that will now only take them to 37 with us if they lose tomorrow. I honestly can't see them getting a better result at City than us at Norwich. SQUEAKY BUM TIME
  7. Just to be clear, though - even if those results do go against us, QPR would have to get better results against Stoke at home and Man City away than us against Spurs at home and Norwich away - which is by no means guaranteed.
  8. I know that there have been upsets recently but the likelihood is that Blackburn will go down because even if they beat Wigan at home, they are unlikely to get another 4 points from Chelsea away and Spurs away. That leaves QPR in my opinion at the other most likely team to go down. I think that Chelsea will win tomorrow at the Bridge - QPR are not great on their travels and although Chelsea are in a European Final, the banned players means there's no need to rotate the likes of Ramires, etc. Yes, they'll be fatigued, but good enough to beat QPR, I believe. That means that as long at Man City win on the final day, we'll be ok. Incidentally, I think QPR will only get a point at home to Stoke and we'll get a point against Norwich or Spurs, so we'll be ok anyway. The problem is that without the elusive win, we're still in the mix and that's why McLeish should - and will - leave in the summer.
  9. For anyone that wants a neutral viewpoint: From BBC "Aston Villa have been excellent in every department other than taking the chances they have created. And this is what will give Bolton hope after the interval."
  10. COME ON VILLA. I AM SO SO PROUD OF YOU BOYS TONIGHT. KEEP GOING. WE DESERVE TO WIN THIS.
  11. if anyone isn't watching the game, I want to tell you to ignore the moaners, the atmosphere is cracking, we're playing our hearts out and can't do much more. Heskey nearly scored a beauty after some sort of Zidane turn, we've been gutsy and courageous and are going forward with real purpose. We're trying so hard.
  12. With the players we have available, we are playing quite brilliantly and I genuinely don't think they can play any better. Credit to Mcleish, Warnock in midfield has worked well and we're creating plenty. Tragedy that we're not leading, but I'm **** proud of them so far.
  13. When you sell your best players you're going to struggle. When you've got injuries to the entire spine: -Dunne and Collins -Petrov and Ireland -Agbonlahor and Bent you've really got little chance. Win would really be unexpected tonight for two reasons. 1. Pressure and lack of confidence 2. The eleven players are as bad as anything in the premier league, with less shape and quality than Bolton. Personally I don't blame McLeish - when the dust has settled and people look back and reflect on the team we actually have (and not some warped vision of Gary Gardner being 'real quality') they'll see that Lerner is the real villain of this season.

  15. Well I did put money on us going down before the games tonight and got 25-1. Only 30 quid but if we do go down, I've got 750 to go on a nice holiday. I never, EVER win any money, so you can all rest assured that I have paid 30 quid to guarantee our top flight status.
  16. only Man united have lost less games away from home than us we won't lose all of our games and, however we do it, will pick up at least 3 more points. That will do us.
  17. We are not down. We are very unlikely to go down. But don't let the facts get in the way of some typical VT negativity. I think we will win one of Sunderland at home and Bolton at home. And we might not need to win either of them.
  18. they are on better form, yes, but they are below us in the table
  19. As I say, if you really think we're in such trouble, stick some of your money on it and you'll get a very good reward. The truth is, none of you will because you know in your heart we won't just lose every game between now and the end of the season, even if Mcleish isn't Mourinho.
  20. if anyone really thinks we're going down, put money on at stan james - 25/1 and if you stick 50 quid on and are that sure, you'll get the consolation of a free holiday to Barbados with your £1250 return.
  21. who exactly is going down?!!!! ridiculous talk. no reason in this world to think that we will go down. We cannot win a game to save our lives. We go into half the games looking to draw it. We have no intention of attacking. We play dull football and when they are looking for a goal Heskey is put on the wing. We are going down, and we deserve it. I will personally give you a thosand pounds if we do go down this season. So, with you being that sure, I hope the money will cheer you up. Honestly, this forum is a joke.
  22. yep, you're so switched off that you're following your team on an aston villa forum haha
  23. who exactly is going down?!!!! ridiculous talk. no reason in this world to think that we will go down.
  24. Are you trippin. We are playing bottom of the league Wigan, we have hardly had a shot on goal and Mcleish would rather play boring shite football than attacking football. I wont lower myself and call you a name. boooooooooo!! The game isn't over, we're blooding lots of young players and we're not half as bad as everyone thinks. I'm not trippin. I just have enough happiness in my life that drawing a football match 0-0 doesn't upset me in the slightest. COME ON VILLA!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. except for the fact that he's a really decent, nice bloke. Is he??? I'll have to take your word on that, I have never met him but from what I have seen of him he comes across like he's a complete Arsehole. I can't quite understand how you've got an impression that he's an arsehole. He is a decent man and struggling.
