  1. El Hierro. You heard Villa are allegedly in talks with Barcelona. Do you know regarding which player? Djemba Djemba is far too good for them.
  2. Ok. What if we sign NRC Sneijder Bellamy/Bent/Defoe Luke Young Mertesacker Koumas Would people still be miffed at buying Koumas? I think he'd be a decent buy, especially if we've lost McCann & Davis.
  3. According to a colleague at work, Talksport this morning claim we are in talks with Sneijder. May be B.S but here's hoping!!
  4. Interesting!! Have always liked Matty Taylor, he's versatile, sweet left foot and would complement Bouma and Barry well. Young and Maloney can also play left side so we have plenty of options. Added to that, we know MT can cut the mustard in the prem and he's most definately a step up from Jlloyd IMO.
  5. Love Robbie Fowler, pure class. Injuries taken their toll but would be a great player for the kids to learn from and could come in when injuries and suspensions hit us. Having said all that, if we bring in a striker I expect it to be Bent, Bellamy or Defoe.
  6. Konchesky is not all that but might be ok as cover for Freddie. Don't really want Barry to drop to left back next season as he's fast becoming our midfield general.
  7. nnock, your list reads like champ manager. No one is doubting that the players you list are or may be available but you can't just make a call to their agent and expect em to sign just like that. We will probably bring in 2-3 quality players and 2-3 squad players who are on a par or better level than the current squad players who will most likely leave. Owen to Villa? Not on your nelly!
  8. This is a transfer speculation thread. Not a 'where does Maloney play' thread.
  9. Let's face it, if a player is unsettled him and his agent can usually negotiate a move away. Contract or not, it's frustrating but a fact of modern day football. If Berbatov really wanted to move he would. (not that i'm saying he does!)
  10. Reo Coker could be worth a shot but wouldn't pay over £2million for him. He's got ability, not shown it much this season but he's clearly unhappy at the Hammers. The Premier League is full of talented players who for a number of reasons don't always show it week in, week out every season. Look at Petrov. IMO you can see he has qualities but he needs a season to adjust and is now showing signs of improvement. I know not all posters rate Petrov but he is just one example. On the flip side you can also point to a whole host of players who have 1 good season then fade away (Ricketts etc) but I'd still have Reo Coker as an option in the summer.
  11. Can't see a huge overhaul of the squad to be honest. The basis is there for a good team. 3-4 quality additions with the 'dead wood' going would be fine. See Joey Barton has had a pop again at the Man City boss and players, clearly not happy and would think a new challenge would be just the ticket for him. He's a bell end but a fine player. Would improve us no end and is the sort of player MON would relish working with.
  12. Luke Young, Glen Johnson, Steve Finnan for me from the prem. What about Lucas Neill if the hammers go down? Otherwise you are looking at someone from abroad. Who? Not sure!
  13. Sidwell - fine on a free, but as many have stated, not a signing to capture the imagination and I think players need to be judged on more than 1 season. Look at Michael Ricketts. Simao is class, Sneijder is the real deal and Quaresma would be ace, but, could we attract them without Europe? It would be tough, but you never know.
  14. Sam100, he's an option I suppose but still think we can do better. He's not the 20 goal a season man we crave, we will have to agree to disagree on this one. At the end of the day I wouldn't be too upset if he became a Villan. Nice Avatar by the way!
