  1. I just wish this would have been kept under wrapps and conducted behind closed doors. Our own club has now beeun left open to ridicule due to present events!

It was ment to be behind closed doors, but the jet was snapped by thetrees here on VT. Not many managers living in Kristainsund. But many journos read VT and then it was out in the open.

  2. Body language unhappy. I mean, what kind of way is that to treat your manager? He asks to speak to a PL club? "Yes". Then they fume about him going to a PL club and say there was a breach of trust. Make your **** minds up!

I don't think they ever gave permission. If you read all the articles it says how he told them he was going to speak to them, not the other way round. He keeps saying it was informal... this presumably is because he doesn't want to get into trouble about having proper discussions, because he was never given permission and knows he is possibly in the wrong.

He was given permission to talk to Villa. OGS and Villa agreed. The problem was that OGS want to back in time for the training today. Villa then offered the private jet. When media got hold on it, Molde leaders got cold feet and told him not to go. OGS was man for his hat. He hade an agrement with Villa. The jet was in Norway, so he forfilled his part of the deal, not like the cowarss of Molde

  3. I don't think this necessarily means anything either way. He is basically not saying anything concrete, except for the known facts. At the moment there is no concrete offer so the way he sees it he has a 2 year contract and there is no reason that he won't fulfill that.

He is not saying he will stay if he does get an offer, which is the important part for me. Reading between the lines I think if he is offered the job then he will take it.

It is my opinion too, even if I find the language in western Norway somewhat difficult to understand ( I am swedish). The club and OGS have talk about what has happend and if they can go on or if they have to split. they will go on and the clubis well aware of the situation and that i soon can change. that´s probobly why the club is talking about just the next three games.

Aston Villa has the ball now and OGS is waiting for them to come back. This pc don´t change anything from yesterday

  4. I agree with lot of what Villan1957 is writing. It is long time since we had a period of injuries like this season. If we at what has happen since the january window opened and we had most of the players availble, we started at 17 and ended up in 9. If we only look at the last 18 games, we are number 7 and we picked up one point more the Spurs, only two points behind Arsenal and 3 behind Man City.

GH has nothing to be ashamed of.

  5. Technically speaking, in order for this to work properly, the chosen song must fit the following criteria:

    1. Little or No changing of the original lyrics. (More people can sing along instantly, and it removes the cheese factor)

    2. The tune must be carried in the vocals and not rely on instruments or percussion.

    3. Song should be well known.

    4. Slow paced songs work best.

I really like stand by me, it has a great sentiment, but it'd be too difficult for 40,000 people to sing in unison - and it would almost certainly rise in tempo with no backing track. When you hear You'll Never Walk Alone, they sing it slowly and passionately.

The best short term solution would be to sing Ghost Riders (Holte Enders) Chorus over and over at the tempo of the original - I think that would be really haunting.

Don´t they sing "You never walk alone" with Gerry Marsden who help them with the tempo? I think we need to have the same at least in the start, whatever tune we choose.

  6. Bannan is good with the ball, but I think he only brake up one attac the entire game. I am afraid that ManU will eat us up in the central midfield. Our defense cannat been all taht bad, that some seems to think. If we forget the terrible Newcaste game, we have conceded less then one goal per game. Some people also seems to think that is just the back four that defends. The defending starts with the man on top!

  7. Some fans grab every little bit to moan. This time I dont understand the problem? What is important is what he do when i takes over. Not if he, like most of us, thinks that Liverppol is a bigger club then Villa. A newspaper in Sweden have vote of which team their readers support. Liverpool got 32% and Villa 2,5%. And is really important that he thinks we have belonged to 7-12 place, not 6-11. and maybe like someone pointed out, read the next line about imroving year by year.

  8. Absolute mess?

They won the champions league sooner after he left.

Also what are the guarantees any manager will come in and be perfect.

Your talking like Houllier will be shit, we'll sack him and hire Jol and he will be good, thats just what will happen!

Nonsense, for all you know Jol could be a complete disaster if he came.

For the Last time Jez even Liverpool fans know they were beyond lucky to win the champions league, late strike from Gerard to get out of the group, phantom goal and Gudjonssons miss to beat Chelsea and 7 lucky mnutes against Milan.

Benitez signed Alonso and they didn't even come close to beating Everton to 4th. They were rubbish in the Premier League that season, rubbish. So stop bringing up how lucky they were in a cup competition. Cardiff made the FA Cup final, that make them among the best 2 teams in England that year? Of course not.

He was fired from Tottenham 2007

  9. Two criticisms levelled at Houllier during his final years at L'pool were that his team was set out so negatively that it played with a fear of losing rather than a desire to win, and that he didn't integrate youngsters which caused friction with the academy.

It looks like there is a chance that Houllier may be our next manager, if so I hope he has had a rethink about how to play football in the Premiership. I have to say that I found watching L'pool boring under GH.

Leopards don't change their spots do they? Especially 63 year old leopards.

not saying you are wrong at all, but at some point we have got to make our choice.

we cant have young and exciting as well as proven and experienced.

we cant criticise mon for only ever buying average solid players from england and then complain about a manager with a reputation for taking gambles on unknowns from abroad.

in fairness to houllier, the pressure on him at liverpool was a lot higher than it will be at villa. he was scared of losing becasue despite having finished second in the league and winning a bag full of cups he was still being criticised because they hadnt won the league.

I believe that Houllier has the experience and the contacts to do some kind of a job at Villa. My concerns are purely personal as I like to watch reasonably entertaining football and I hope to see our youth brought through as and when they are ready.

I know that my point of view is not necessarily a winning formula, but I would love to see what our current crop of players could achieve with a couple of seasons of really positive leadership and some quality coaching.

Yes, one thing is certain, under MON we played very attractive football 8) all the time. I suggest we wait and see what will happen. Most important in the end is to win games. Everyone like to see entertaining football, but not naiv.

  10. I dont know what people excpect from a player coming in with 10 min to go with order to work his socks of to stop attacs.? Playing like Messi? I know some of you dont rate Sidwell, but is this the best you can do after a well done job of everyone away from home?
