At least Simon Brotherton didn't mess around with manufacturing controversy over the disallowed goal

alright that's it we need to get a banner on the Holte End that says "IT WAS FOR A STAMP"
maybe take a leaf out of Everton fans' books and make it some 400 word opinion column/poem nobody has time to read on MOTD. No push involved Southampton, young Jacob's heel was stamped on, whatever get an AI to write it like they seem to

Martinez is embarking on the sweeper-keeper destiny where he eventually gets so high on his own supply he loses the ball on halfway attempting a Marseille roulette in a cup final. God bless him, and uh may it happen while playing for Argentina
Not a bad performance at all in context against a team that had put together a good run of results, luckily we're not Everton. Their fans were howling blue murder but they were surrendering possession in dangerous areas and committing too many fouls as a result; the big decisions were right, it was a clear foul for their goal even if barely anybody seemed to notice it wasn't given for a push, despite the player going down holding his ankle in pain immediately when he was in position to clear the ball. The first half pen shouts not given for us could have been given on another day but weren't travesties of justice or anything
Ashley Young, very tidy
Better performance than Leeds I think, I don't think we were lucky to win
Looks like it will be a nice entertaining MOTD later, which we will almost definitely be dead last on

Ashley Young is obnoxiously composed at fullback, he's just seen it all

It's gonna be so weird explaining to the younger generations in 2040 why there's a "Danny Ings Stand" at Villa Park

They're gonna feel so hard done by but the big decisions haven't been wrong

They've given us possession out of nowhere in the final third so much it'll be insanely annoying if we don't carve out a few more chances

It was for dissent not for being wrong

Lot of variability in the streams today I see
Upson not realising that it was for the stamp not the shove

Mings pressing their right back on the edge of their box!
He started doing this routinely against Wolves in the second half too, interesting in light of McGinn saying Emery was getting players to do things he thought they were good at that they didn't necessarily realise imo

Don't think we've been bad, considering how congested it is when they have men back we haven't looked one-dimensional or out of ideas, and the pen shouts or the two big chances could've shaken out differently. Hopefully they tire rather than us getting frustrated or sloppy
Not normally a fan of the brutal Saudi-style poetic justice, but the penalty for flying a drone somewhere it's not allowed to be should definitely be having the drone shoved up your arse

Everton have really got that stench of death on them now

Derbies and our record against Wolves being what they are, this is the first league game of Emery's reign where we're meant to be actually strong favourites to win. Southampton looked quite composed and well organised against Everton considering their position though, and Ward Prowse looks like he's up for it in a more advanced role at the moment
Shitting it! Hope Watkins isn't having a frustrating off day after 70 minutes with the usual switch now off the table
Interested to see A Moreno get a full run out though, his contributions after he settled in a bit against Leeds were enjoyable
-
City were pretty bad and Villa just weren't ruthless enough in attack, but they were hanging on a bit by the end so a good point. Lot of bad decisions towards the end in terms of City not getting a few corner decisions at either end and Lehmann being well onside when played in
4 points from City after being routinely battered by them before is real progress, looks like Ward deserved that new contract

The commentator on CBS sounds lowkey annoyed that we equalised so quickly with such a dog of a goal lol
City are a bit sloppy playing out of the back, there's goals left in it

Need to change the name of this thread it might just jinx them a little
Between that and the fact that the Man City thread used to also be prefixed "let's all laugh at", wondering if there should be a "let's cautiously disparage Birmingham City Football Club" thread

Takes the piss how good he was. He must have actually beaten his man more times than Gnonto did based on that, largely by moving his hips while near-stationary

Why are they writing these unreadable essays on their banners man, do they not realise "WERE NOT FICKLE WE JUST DON'T LIKE YOU" is the benchmark for this stuff

The best professional we have ever had at Villa ? He first played for us i think 17 years ago this month as a jinky winger. And now one of the first names on the team sheet . He is so wise

How are they so bad at showing an image or replay that actually gives you a clear look at the ball being played

Pretty obvious that what we need to do here is give it first 15 minutes of the second half under new instructions from half time, and then if things aren't improving, turn off the game and do something else
