  1. Spurs - small club thinks they're a big club, media w&nkfest.

I dont like Spurs but no-one can doubt they are a big club. If Spurs are not a big club then nor are we.

don't want to turn this into a thread about Spurs, nor about what defines a big club... but...

in top 6 TWICE in the history of the Premiership (last 16 years). thats not a big club, Newcastle, Blackburn, Villa, Leeds, etc have all done much more than that.

    Spurs European trophies? nope.

League titles? Blackburn, Sunderland, Newcastle have won more.

anyway, back to the Hating of other clubs

  2. Much of what the original poster wrote of other clubs could be written about the Villa, so i prefer to just pay teams like Spurs, Man City, Newcastle and West Ham the respect that their stature and history deserves.

yeah, i agree that 'new-found wealth' and 'deluded supporters' could also be said about Villa, rather than Man City or Newcastle.

but West Ham shouldn't be in the Premier league, as they cheated to stay up.

and the media-love over Spurs is nothing like it with Villa.

  3. CURRENT PREMIER LEAGUE TEAMS ONLY.

    no, Bham City doesn't count

    Liverpool - glory-hunting fans, media w&nkfest.

Spurs - small club thinks they're a big club, media w&nkfest.

    Newcastle - deluded fans.

    Man Utd - jealousy?

    Chelsea - loadsa money sugar-daddy

Man City - newly found wealth.

West Ham - cheats. shouldn't be in the Premier league.

  4. I've just come back from looking at a house. If I decide to buy, what percentage of the asking price should I bid?

thats a good question. i am also debating what offer to put in for a house.

its on the market at £400k, and i believe it is overpriced. I am debating whether to offer £350k, £340k or to go even lower. The house has been for sale for 6 months now which is why i think £50k less (12.5% lower) is the maximum i would pay.

  5. ender my total bill is just £75 a month, do you have hot baths every day ?

me & my wife both have long hot showers every day.

My wife likes a warm house, so we have the heating on loads.

we live in a 3 bedroom house, no kids. We are with British Gas Dual Fuel.

So our total bill has been £64/month for the past year,

they have only just increased it to £96/month from this month onwards.

  6. I just got notification that my Gas Bill has increased from £45/month to £75/month!!!! huge increase!!!

on a good point, my electricity has only increased from £19/month to £21/month, which still seems very low!

  7. For those who answered, "No, but probably would," my only question is, what's keeping you?

they've yet to find a fit enough bird who'll say "yes"? :winkold:

  8. I'd like to see this broken down by age group.

And taken by the same people after 10, 20, 30 years.

and also showing a split by ethnicity, gender, social group, earnings, size of head, & colour of feet. :P

  9. out of two teams who are bottom of the league, and looking in trouble compared to their expectations...

who do you want to LOSE tonight in the League cup?

    Newcastle or Spurs?

whoever loses will lose more confidence & continue their bad streak.

whoever wins might just turn their bad start around.

  10. Based on this and the other thread I get the impression that not many people eat the requisite "five a day"

Does anyone on here eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day?

personally, i enjoy vegetables but hate fruit.

I love eating salads - different types of lettuce, cucumber, olives, etc.

i also like green beans, mushrooms, broad beans, peas, carrots, etc.

i'd say i manage 4 portions daily (which includes 1 glass of Pomengranite juice).

  11. Aubergine

    Cabbage

    Sprouts

    Broccoli

    Spinach

    Beetroot

    Celery

    Courgette

    Sweetcorn

    All of the above

If god had wanted you to eat these things, he would have made them into silly colours.

    errr...... what like

    deep red/purple? (beetroot)

    or bright yellow? (sweetcorn)

or purple? (some types of cabbage)

    :D

i'll give you the rest though.... they are all a bit green.

  12. Can i change my vote? i just finished watching the season 2 premier of Sarah Connor Chronicles, it was the best bit of tv i've seen in ages

    Can't wait to watch it!

but i don't think that 1 amazing episode makes a whole tv series.

otherwise there were some episodes in Battlestar Galactica that blows your mind!

From a philosophical viewpoint, surely no other series has made me think as much as Battlestar Galactica?
