MM always seems to be pretty correct.
Jez is wondering why you are questionning MM I think.

really wish i was going, shame i live in chester where no one else supports the villa.
I know that feeling. But in all honesty, there are a few of us around Chester and North Wales
Edit: Should say Im going for a Villa win on this one. 3-1.
Man City to win and Liverpool to win as well.

Welcome to VT. God knows how bad it would've been if we'd lost.too many negative vibes from this forum imo.you talk about mon cant win? we lose and you moan that people criticise, but if we get a jammy draw via a last minute own goal we are supposed to applaud politely after another second half pasting? we were at home against a team below us in the league you know...
If we are talking about it in those terms then we should beat everyone from the start of the season bar Arsenal as they are lower in the league than us?!
I understand what you are saying though and people can criticise at performances - I just think its all seeming like alot of negativity at the moment though. Everton in all fairness have been playing quite well of late and we are obviously not playing to our full potential - but thats football!
I think people are expecting a bit too much at the moment. I quite like Mantis and his positive vibes though - we need to support MON and the team rather than just criticise at every turn.

oh well....roll on next season for silverware. Good performance today - lets take that through to the final few games of the season!

Can't believe this thread at times.
I've been watching the whole game and have to say apart from a sloppy few moments 2nd half and mistake by Warnock, we've played really strongly and definitely deserve to win.
No reason for such negativity.
The way Ash and Downing have played tonight will actually BOOST them for the final.
Two good wins to set us up nicely.
Like. Good point on the boost. Gabby might be a bit tired though? MON will have thought about that thought surely!
-
Come july it should be bye bye emile, petrov, beye and guzan. All four just not good enough. Carew, he needs to get more games.
Madness
Im also thinking while Carew could come on fire with a few starts there must be a reason why he isn't being given the starts?
MON obviously doesn't have much faith in any striker except Gabby at the moment. If anything, Heskey has become MON's 2nd Striker.
And Carlton Cole? Seriously? I think its a dead cert that MON is going to do some shoppping after the world cup for a striker - as someone.

Four Tet essential mix. This man is gold.
four tet are wicked! rounds is a great album

:| So you'd take a defeat on the basis that you have had 'thoughts' that Milner may get injured? That's a weird train of thought you've just taken....!
I was just thinking out loud and of worst case scenarios to be honest!
Don't know where i was going with it.
Don't see us winning this anyway. Spurs sounded good midweek and although they were against leeds they still sounded good for their win.
Someone did mention the fact that our pace on the counter might cause them some issues though which could happen if we perform.
-
2 - 0 Defoe getting both (the bastard). Milner to pick up a knock which turns out to be a broken metatarsal and keeps him out for the rest of the season.
Feeling very pessimistic at the moment.
I hope im wrong.
For the record - I would take a defeat if it meant having Milner fit/a good shot at the cup.

I got a very similar thing from a Man Citeh fan the other week - he was genuinley chuffed that his "depleated" team had overcome Stoke at home. When I asked, "how can Man City ever have a depleated team" he told me they had no strikers - which promted me to ask "who started up front then.." to which he replied in all sincerity......

"Tevez and Robinho"

Beye was good. Strangely he started at cb but was effective when moved to rb. Warnock didn't play well I thought and did a few strange things.
On this evidence Beye would be my choice over Cuellar at rb, if young is shifted to the left side. He's a solid player and probably better than how a lot of people rate him on here. We've had a hell of a lot worse over the years at rb.
Not sure about Beye vs Arshavin, but Cuellar vs Arshavin would be a no match imo
Good points - cheers tommo.
I agree he is better than what we have had recently but i still get a feeling like he's a bit unsure of what to do sometimes. Looks like injuries might force this back four line up if Dunne and Warnock have picked up knocks.
Im predicting either 1-1 or 2-1 with young getting a goal. He's become a lot more confident recently and is looking back to form. MON should get them worked up as well - getting them to remember the away defeat in December!
-
Not convinced by Beye. He last played against Blackburn in the FA cup didn't he? Didn't think he looked to good to be honest - he's ok at attacking but gave the ball away to easily and ended up chasing the ball to often. I would rather have Cuellar at RB.
He played Saturday
That would make sense! How did he play just out of curiosity?
-
Warnock a doubt so Young to LB and Cuellar to continue at RB...
Would rather see Carlos stay at CB and bring Beye in. Lets keep the "out of positions" to a minimum in my view.

Im drinking Westvleteren 12 at the moment - supposedly the best beer in the world. It is.

MON sounds strangely crestfallen on the radio.
Didnt catch that? What was he saying that made him sound crestfallen?
-
Big Sam's well **** off!
What he say?
Just saying the 1st goal changed it and he feels let down. MON is now saying we should have had penalties at blackburn though! hahaha
-
Anyone else slightly embarassed by the pitch invasion?
I both am and am not. Im sure the atmosphere has been electric there and people just got carried away.
-
Harsh but we need to drop Guzan for the final.
Yep - it is harsh. not sure myself. If we are investing in Guzan for the future we need to give him the experience now really. But at the same time maybe he's experienced enough this cup run and now its time for brad senior to step up to show him how to handle pressure

goals galore!
