Thailand is the ultimate "Lads" holiday destination, i absolutely love it over there.. can't fail to have a wicked time. A bunch of us are heading over for christmas and new years, it going to be carnage.

I'm not sure what the weather will be like in June though, peak season is generally between December - March when the weather is mainly dry and not too hot.

I think the General's thread is worthwhile as, if you look back there was some good input from fans and some good answers to questions.

VillaCas - I do think that, whilst what you say to an extent is true, the posts were a vent of frustration and that it was to be expected. You can't blame fans for that as such. I also think the General was getting frustrated as can be seen in some of his posts as well.

His decision to not post whilst the issues are being resolved are for the best as the thread was going round in circles and his job was becoming messy.

Hope he comes back at some point anyway.

Yep - Im happy with this appointment if its true. There are alot of advantages and disadvantages being thrown about about him (as you would expect on a forum) but I think in general and given the amount of managers currently available then its a good deal. I would be interested to know how he see's our way forward and if he has been given any reasurrances over finances in the jan transfer window. It will be interesting to see what he does with the squad and how he gets them to play. Leaves me quite exciting about our next match.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion and I will have to disagree. We have over performed if anything especially last season when we got into the cup final. we haven't had any amazing player but more like a small squad of players that have played as a unit and pulled off some great results.

Likewise, Moyes has done a very similar job at Everton. A small squad but one which has again, pulled off some great results.

Just my opinion of course.

Woh there are some seriously embarassing posts in the General's thread right now. Thankfully the mods are sharp enough to delete the crap immediately. I wouldn't be surprised if the General says enough is enough and cuts out this particular line of communication between fans and the board.

Anybody upset with GH being next manager dosent seem to have a realistic option they would prefer? So are we now moaning for the sake of moaning? It's quite a shame how much we forget what Randy has done for the club in 4 years. You couldn't even blame him if he sold the club and left when you hear the way some have turned on him. I just really hope it's a small minority.

I think its just a heat of the moment thing. when we get an appointment alot of negative feelings will fade i reckon.

you cant blame the fans for wanting success at villa and being frustrated.

at the end of the day - randy wants to get into the champions league to make money. he's running a business at the end of the day. therefore he wants someone who is going to take villa forward.

Whilst I don't think it is professional to call fans 'vipers' (and yes, i understand that when you come on here you are not speaking in an official capacity but that doesnt really matter does it when you work for the club and are making comments) I think the current climate is clouding the judgement of alot of fans. Which in all fairness is understandable given the parcels of information that come out of the club and never quite look complete (again, I understand this as it would be unprofessional to make any comments on who is in the frame etc).

Anyway, I do not think anyone is covering themself in a good light at present and it may be wise to stay clear of posting much on here - especially when the papers will jump on statements and take them out of context - becoming a PR nightmare. So my question would be do you feel that currently your postings on here (in the current climate) are being productive?

Everyone remembers what the club was like before Randy took over the club and we obviously don't want to go back there. At the end of the day, everyone wants Villa to be successful so we should stop bickering amongst ourselves and just be patient.

According to a seemingly well informed article published at 20.30 on the Guardian website, Villa have a shortlist of 5 headed by KM. Apparrently RL & PF were interviewing a candidate yesterday so it is very feasible that RL's trip abroad is to do an interview.
