  1. Best Game:

    1-somi_title.gif

    Special Mention:

Chuckie Egg - revolutionary for me

    Half Life: Opposing Force

    - such a good two player game

    Sensible Soccer

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu7dxRtePHM&feature=related

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Ok - i'm done. These in my opinion are all classics and i really can't pick a best because most of these were classics that were the best at the time.

My all time would probably go to the Monkey Island games. Lucasarts in their day were superb and there are no other games like them.

  2. I'm glad I've found this thread. My mate did this last year and the results were impressive.

Personally I have been doing this for 2 weeks now, I'm really enjoying it and am surprised by my fitness. After a week and a half I was able to hit all 349 crunches on Ab Ripper X and I am sticking with the majority of the other exercises (I have ditched Kenpo X for Cardio X cause I enjoyed it more). I am using the Ripcords resistance bands and I definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of doing this. I am also finding the diet good to follow, mainly eating chicken and rice with the odd pasta meal. A normal days food would be cereal for breakfast, a banana at about 09:30, lunch, an apple at about 15:00 and then tuna for dinner after the days exercise.

All in all, I reckon I have probably lost half a stone since Christmas doing this programme and I can certainly see the definition in some parts of the abdomen and arms but that is probably muscle memory from times past. I look nothing like my avatar or my name, well I haven't for a good while at least! The aim is to be no lighter than 11.5 - 12 stone by the end of it all with the minimum achievement being the removal of the student debt off the mid riff.

It definitely helps to have an aim, for me its because I am heading to the beach in April and intend to take my new body with me. Would be good to discuss if others are still doing it.

And lastly I have to mention that yoga is a new hobby of mine, its awesome for mind and spirit. Doing it twice a week currently.

Where are you doing that Tubby (the yoga)?

I started this during the week but like a poster above - I too find it difficult to come home, mark work, cook and go for a run followed by doing one of these sessions.

Im going to do it temporarily at the moment as I like to think my running and sit-ups are helping my fitness at the moment.

I haven't had a beer for a month either so am slowly gaining a bigger wallet again and clearer head - i find dropping the booze is really helping me to get fitter again.

Anyway, I will try and do the sessions when I can at the moment although realise that I need to be doing it everyday to get the best results (at least I assume that I need to be doing it as per the plan?)

  3. All credit to GH today, MON would never have subbed Carew and NRC. The players gave 100% today for the team and manager and thats surely a good sign. The right sort of names are being mentioned as transfers, and with a decent striker we should be OK (Carew and Gabby were shocking today). The time to sack GH was Christmas if at all, but now its very much time to get behind him and he must stay until the seasons end whatever happens.

    Yep.

  4. Keep him and give him the full backing he requires, by the looks of things he is making things happen in the transfer window. I will judge him once he has his own team in place and gets rid of any dead wood.

Until then he has my full support.

    I agree.

For all his crap comments that he has come out with I think this is the best course of action at the moment.

I think the stuff that he did at the Liverpool match was pretty bad but i think he needs a proper chance first.

Changing the manager now would be just as bad in my opinion.

  5. Hi

Been thinking about going and teaching abroad recently. How is it going Wainy? Managed to save much?

    Anyone teaching english anywhere else?

I was looking into China but i need a TEFL qualification and dont have the funds for it right now although if i thought i could save alot and live pretty well in China then i think i would look into it. I really want to do it to save some money and to see some more of the world as London is sucking my funds dry!

    Whats South Korea like?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  6. I went with The Social Network. I went in with low expectations and it blew me away. The soundtrack and acting were very good i thought.

For the record its a tough choice though as the films in the list are all good and different. Four lions was really unique and i reckon i should watch shutter island again as i dont remember it being as good as some state (not saying it was bad but didnt leave a lasting impression on me). I havent seen the secret in their eyes though so will have to try and watch that next.

  7. I am on day 3 of the P90 programme . Decided to do that first before I go anywhere near the P90 X. Really enjoying it .

Are you seeing any results? Im thinking of doing the same. 90 days on this and then go up to the P90X.

Edit: I realise you have only been doing it a little while but any info is appreciated!

  8. What a header.

    The stewards are knobs.

    What did they do?

1307: With the ball flying out of play a Villa fan rises like a salmon to head it back on to the field of play - collapsing over the advertising hoarding as a result. Hilarity ensues, until the stewards react by escorting him out of the ground. Harsh. Especially as that's just about the best thing that's happened in this match so far
