Snowdon....love going going up here regardless of route. Think We did the pyg track last time and the miners track back down. Will have to check that though.

Caernarfon castle just because I love castles!

I've never been but a lot of people go to abersoch

Barmouth. It's basically a seaside holiday town where loads of brum miles go on holiday or at least used to.

Cardigan bay is supposed to be nice

I also love the beacon beacons for a bit of walking.

Hope that helps, any other questions let me know

  2. Hi, been to Borneo twice. Working all over the country. Sabah and Sarawak and Brunei. Great place with lovely people. Cheap, good beaches, great diving.

There is one beach where they filmed the first season of survivor I think with hammocks along the beach and a mud pool 5min walk away. Lovely place.

Tarp which is the islands around Kota Kinabalu (kk) are lovely as well. And the night markets!

If your into diving I would recommend sipadan.

Mount Kinabalu is good if your a walker or the Crocker range. Worth it just for the pitcher plants!

You could try to get into imbak canyon which is where they filmed one of the bbc documenataries and is fairly untouched as far as tourists go.

Brunei is expensive but a great contrast as well.

Any specific info or photos let me know.

A poster on another site has emphaised just how bad our home form has been.

It is the worst in 140 years.

    140 friggin years !!!

Now, in all that time I am sure we have had worse squads and teams,

Going back to our demise through the leagues the Div 3, it must have been bad.

BUT, it was never as bad as this.

To those who say he 'deserves' more time, with a decent transfer budget, I would ask why this should be the case?

Yes, money plays a big part of the modern game, but, there are managers out there who manage in their respective leagues. at all levels, and get their teams to perform better than us.

    Money is not everything.

There are other elements like training, tactics, motivation, nous. The ability to see that other teams are doing and counteract that.

These are where Lambert is coming up short, and far too bloody short for Aston Villa.

How can it be the worst when we've picked up more points this season than the last 2 seasons?

    Better away form?

    Borneo (Malaysian)

Stay at Lankayan Island Dive Resort

    Dannum Valley

    Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary

    Hiking the Headhunters trail

I have spent some time working in Borneo and have travelled around the Malaysian side quite a bit. If your going to go diving then you need to go to Sipidan. Best diving i have ever done. Sepilok is worth seeing if you have not been before.

A couple of people i know worked around Dannum valley, and although i haven't seen it myself - it sounded amazing!

The deer cvave in the mulu national park is worth seeing if you are heading to do the headhunters trail.

Have you considered any of these whilst you are there:

    - Visiting Brunei

    - Mt Kinabalu

    - Long Pasia is very good for trekking and still fairly off the beaten track with some great trekking

    - KK has some good diving around TARP. There is a british dive company which are good and i think they recently had a whale shark in the area. Very good viz.

  5. Ridiculous.

He has given us money, he has hired MON/Lambert (not many opposed to that) and then of course the McLeish-disaster. However, he has spent money on us and we have challenged for three seasons. We are crap now, granted, but to compare him with that Indian circus is plain mean.

    Doug brought in MON.

  6. People have short memories it seems. Can't understand the enthusiasm about Benitez becoming manager. Liverpool played largely dull football under him. Would hope for a manager with a more positive approach.

Granted they did in the last year he was there. I disagree with the previous years, they were actually good to watch. Only thing i would worry about Benitez coming is that if a massive club came in for him if he was doing well at Villa, he would be away like a shot.

Surely any manager would be like that though (unless they had a really good thing going at their clubs?)

BOF - had forgotten about Pako, Good point. Although, what is he doing now? Could he link up with Rafa again?

I'm losing the will now with it all in all fairness and just want someone that can offer some good entertaining football.

  7. I know this thread is from a while ago but though i would use it instead of creating a new one as i am in a similar situation. I have been a teacher for the last two years working on a maternity contract. This contract runs out in July and i need a new job but do not particularly want to stay in teaching.

Is anyone or has anyone been a teacher or have any insight in what teacher can do if not teaching?

I know its quite subjective but any ideas would be useful. I have been applying for graduate schemes but im not really a graduate anymore. When is best to start properly looking as well? May?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Matt

  8. I'd leave him. If we take him the papers will be all about him again and will disrupt the other team members. If we leave him at home (hopefully) the media will leave him alone for the summer and he can think about his rash actions. He needs to understand that what he did is not acceptable.

  9. Hi guys,

My brother is coming down to London tomorrow night and i was after some thing to keep him entertained. We have previously been to the comedy store and was after something a bit different to getting pissed in camden (although having a few drinks is definitely on the agenda!).

I've read about Vinopolis - anyone know much about it? Is it worth doing?

    Any ideas in general?

  10. I've applyed to teach in China

hope you are not teaching them Spelling :-)

You know, I looked at that but pressed submit before I could change it and then couldn't be bothered to edit it.

but she went full Guardian reader

Thanks for the info though Tony. I may just add that being a teacher the comment about the Guardian cracked me up!

  11. Juan - i'm currently in the same situation. My teaching contract runs out at the end of July and I either stay in teching (which I could do but am abit adverse to - in the UK anyway) or what i am trying to do at the moment is find a job abroad doing something which still pays me! I've applyed to teach in China but i have a passion for youth development expeditions and outdoor learning.

It really depends on your skill set and what you have a passion for at the end of the day i guess.

Working in Oz could be good - does anyone know if that drains your resources?

  12. Slow shutter speed and closed aperture, you need low light or heavy neutral density filters to achieve the effect. That one's low light because of the streetlights in the background

    :)

    Ta Bickster. And congrats Killeen!
