Help an Irish Villa man out? Gotta visit Birmingham tomorrow for something - sadly not football related - medical matter. Can someone tell me if it's possible to get a one day ticket that covers bus and train? Got a couple of places to visit and wanna know the cheapest way...! Gotta head from the airport to Sandwell General in West Brom and then back to the city for a bite before heading to the airport again! Cheers lads!

Unless O'Halloran is sent out on loan, I'd be surprised if he didn't get a shot at the first team this year for whatever reason. With Barry, Bouma and O'Halloran all able to play LB, I don't think we really need Taylor.

I don't think we'll have to wait until July for signings, but I agree it's stupidly early (even by Villa fan standards) to get upset about a lack of "activity".

That's not really the point I'm making. I'm just saying that the Spurs collect midfielders like Arsenal used to collect centre backs. Of course he should get his game there, but his agent might just draw his attention to the LONG list of midfielders who have had issues there.

No doubting the class of Sneijder, but Spurs have become something of a midfielders grave yard of late. Manys a quality players has gone there in recent seasons, only to find they can't get a game.

I disagree, Jez. I really feel they are in the "Carew" bracket. Class players who we wouldn't normally expect to look twice at us. If we offer em first team football, very attractive wages and the opportunity to join a club on the up... it could happen!

Eidur Gudjohnsen anyone? I see a few clubs are sniffing around him and he hasn't played as much as he would have liked for Barca. I reckon he's the kind of player we should be in for. A class act who has seen his stock fall slightly for whatever reason. Similar to the situation Carew found himself in. There is another class player who would definately be worth signing, but finds himself at something of a crossroads.... Alonso?

Do we really need another striker though? I know Angel has gone and Sutton will more than likely go too, but with Moore, Carew and Gabby we've got three players fighting for two places. Young and Maloney can do a job there too. A keeper, couple of defenders and a defensive midfielder are more likely to come in.

McShane really isn't suited to playing as a RB fellas!

I don't watch West Brom, but I thought McShane was a centre half? As an Irishman I've seen quite a bit of him recently as he's made his way into the Irish first team and he's always in the middle of the back four for us. I highly rate him. I'm not just saying that as I'm Irish, as there are quite a few Irish players I wouldn't want at the Villa, but McShane totally looks like being the new Colin Hendry. There's an old saying of brave players "putting their head in where others wouldn't put their boot", well in our recent 1-0 win over Slovakia, he did exactly that. He made a good tackle in the box, but the ball squirmed to a Slovak lad, and while still on the ground , he literally flung himself head-first at the ball/attackers incoming boot. He's still a bit raw, but he's committed and if he can get a MOM award against Koller on his debut, then he's got to have something about him.

Hello General! I've never posted in here before, so here goes. There is a thread elsewhere (as has been mentioned in a post previous to this one) for new kit designs, so a few fans have been slapping together some designs and posting them on the site. I decided to have a crack and well... a lot of people seem to like it! :oops: Obviously the Coke sponsorship was just thrown in there to fill up some space! Do you think the new Villa regime would let the fans have some input on designing the Villa shirt...??? Quite a lot of fans on the thread do seem to like this one and say that they'd buy it!!! :winkold:
