  1. didnt wish to infer individuals at VP were not doing a good job. more a comment on the corporate mentality in the UK. guess you are not in the UK at the moment, otherwise Mrs Krulak might have something to say about you posting on internet sites at 2.00 am
  2. not a bad idea. maybe a one off reduction for renewing, rather than incremental would be more financially acceptable. although, companies tend to make special offers to attract new business, rather than keep what they have. look at sky. got sky digital and want to upgrade to sky+? then you can buy the box new subscriber? have it free or heavily discounted. though skys record of treating existing subscribers is poor generally. hope the general can reassure us that USA style customer service is coming to villa park, rather than the 'shut up and have what you are given' style of service prevalent here in the UK
  3. couple of seasons ago, samuel looked a real star, mentioned as a possible england call up, though obviously bridge and cole were ahead of him. he does seem to be a confidence player. if he loses the ball, the crowd barrack him, he plays crap. if he belts forward, takes defenders on and gets into the box, he can look unstoppble. surely the sort of player MON can give the confidence back to and turn into a world beater. ok, maybe a slight exaggeration. but he could easily be the sort MON wants, if he likes defenders like agathe but right back is much more of a priority at the mo.
  4. mjmooney suggested this, with new words in the new songs thread, page 5, try, Use short links i thought it was great and i posted, on page 8, a link to the tune for those who think they don't know it. i think some would be surprised that they do. also posted my own words. but what does the general think? there might be 30 - 40 thousand of us, but we don't want to upset the US marine corps. I'm not confident of our chances in a fight!!
  5. Name dropping!!! I love it! any other celebrities you know that might lend their name to the villa? surely any high profile media personality that mentions the villa in interviews, etc., raises the profile of the club in a positive way. the trendier we look, the more fans through the turnstiles. there was quite a fuss in the papers when prince william was pictured in a villa hat. try here http://www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=36091 for a list of some celeb fans. not sure of the accuracy though! if tom hanks could be persuaded to attend a game, maybe presenting a player of the month award or similar, the national press would have to report it. we might even get some press stateside too. If he was promoting his latest film, it could be of mutual benefit. ozzy osbourne is, of course, a world famous brummie, the connection between birmingham and the villa could be emphasised here. hope this gives you something to think about. by the way, do you prefer sir, general or can we call you the chuckster? :winkold:
  6. welcome general i think i love you...................in a manly way of course did you ever have much interest in football before you came here? and if you are redeveloping the holte end will this mean knocking it down? if so, please make it a single tier. the noise level would increase dramatically. at the moment the upper and lower holte keep getting out of sync and so seem to give up a bit all the best and up the villa
  7. why not take my nephew? he's not much good but he's even younger than milner. i would like beckham, it would announce to the footballing world our intention to be a power, but i don't see it happening really. milner was a reasonale hardworking player in an underachieving team. he's not quick, is a poor crosser and not a great shot either. but he is young and he gives 100 %. sorry but i want more for the villa unless MON thinks differently of course :winkold:
