This was taken after one of the greatest ever games at Villa Park. Fifty years ago, we beat a Manchester United side that had lifted the European Cup only 2 years earlier, which had included Denis Law, George Best, Bobby Charlton and a young Jimmy Rimmer, 2-1 in the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg in front of 58,667 fans, on 23/12/70 (what a Happy Christmas we all had that year!) :
God I feel old, was at this game in the Holte End as a 14 year old.

How big of an advantage is it that they've already played a Premier League game?

Endoscopy - pfft. Cystoscopy - pain that is off the scale.
Not too bad if its performed by an experienced operator. I've had it done every year for the last 15 years.

Here's a photograph of Pongo Waring winning an aerial challenge, with another Villa old boy Mush Callaghan. Our then manager and former player, Vic Crowe is watching. The old boy clearly still liked to get his head to the ball, I've always liked this photograph:
I'm embarrassed to say although I knew of his existence for Villa I wasn't aware of his stats until looking him up on wiki.
Debut game for Villa reserves in front of 23,000, scores a hattrick against the unwashed. .
167 goals from 226 appearances including ten hattricks.Record 49 goals in a season 1930/31
From Billy Walkers recollections he appears to be the Gazza of his day from his antics. No wonder a Villa legend.

This is my lockdown/furlough activity too! I hope you're getting on better than me.
Getting control of fingers four and five is tricky but I'm getting there. Good luck and keep at it Sam.

I thought I’d miss football but I’m actually getting used to life without him. It’s different to pre season because you have the all transfer crap going on along with the anticipation.
This feels different. It just doesn’t matter anymore. My blood pressure is certainly seeing the benefits.

One thing I've thought about quite a lot lately is training. Does anyone else think that Smith might be overworking players in training throughout the week? Quite a few games we've looked a bit sluggish/lethargic from the off.
I don't think half an hour of keepy-uppy then the rest of the day down the boozer is overworking them.

There's a clip somewhere of the little steward with the bald head in the black and silver flicking the V's at the Villa fans after the goal. No excuse for the behaviour that followed, but between him and Kevin Friend, they've created the incident. I'm sure we'll see them both held to account. As sure as I am that my unicorn is called Colin.
Scroll down Gary Lineker's tweet to see the clip.
