Did you know Jon Fear was BANNED from the press conference tonight?

Why?

One can only presume why.

I'm a big fan of JF, but he had no place at today's press conference and it was right that he was refused entry.

If JF was allowed in, I should be allowed in.

It won't be a popular view, but JF is more effective when he's not trying things like that.

Maybe the press are giving Ellis his 'swansong'

This will be Ellis' last "accomplishment".

He will be allowed to say that HE appointed MON and gave the fans what they wanted in his last act as Chairman.

I am sure i read on the BBC website that they think MON will be provided with funds before the end of current transfer window, maybe from Ellis :x

it's been busy this week. Yesterday it flew Green Bay to Cleveland, and then when I switched off around midnight it was heading to RL's home. Given that it's Friday I didn't expect to see it move but it appears that Santa Claus is coming to town. It is currently en route to another airport in the UK than Birmingham that would put him in position to meet Rothschilds

Unless there is any major sporting event, movie premiere etc in London that takes the mans fancy, it looks like today could well be the day.

All I can say is this man appears to be working damned hard to fulfil our dreams.

if there is a press conference today (and there is no guarantee there will be) then it seems highly unlikely that Doug will be anywhere near the place while it is going on.

They making him stay in the car again?

I would imagine that, given the leaks this week re Martin O'Neill's appointment and MON's subsequent discomfort, Rothchild's initiated a meeting with MON to try to assuay any fears he may have over the takeover process.

If he was it would be over and done with by now or very soon, but we look as far away from a takeover as ever!

Does an official bid have to come in? Could the club have agreed with the interested parties that they would choose one from the informal offers on the table to save time? Then the chosen consortium go on to make a formal offer? I really haven't a clue how these things work.

The indicative offers that are currently with Rothchild's are probably being examined to see if they meet with the criteria set out at the start, and to see if the finance is in place.

One of those indicative offers will be chosen as the best deal, and it will be converted from indicative to official (probably just a small change of wording) and hey presto, offer is accepted.

Don't expect a statement today, it's VERY unlikely.

VT the site itself has not had a problem, there was a problem with the internet feed provided by a third party.

When the site went down the first time this morning, I realised just how much I rely on it to keep me informed. It was maybe 10 minutes of silence, but it was excruciating.

I'm sure I wasn't the only one to feel so cut off.

No official offers have been received by the club; Rothchild's are currently assessing some potential offers but thats all.

Martin O'Neill will be appointed by the CURRENT Aston Villa board, with the blessing of Randy Lerner. Ellis will be present at the unveiling of MON as manager, will say it that bringing MON to Villa is one of his greatest achievements during his 30+ years at the club and is glad that someone of Mr. Lerner's stature will be investing in the club.

I would imagine though, Richard, that Rothchilds have been instrumental in its release.

I think this is as close to the apology that Lerner was reputed to be seeking from Ellis.

I think it is a signal to Lerner that Rothchild's are now in the driving seat, and that he should feel comfortable dealing with them if he wishes.

Wheres the bit about Ellis being gaffer taped to a chair with rags stuffed in his mouth, the next time theres negociations to be done
