  1. i can 3 options for travel.

1, get the train and have to get 3 in total from cardiff and cost around £100.

2, drive back home to brum and get the coach. costing £40 petrol for brum and back and then coach ticket.

3, just drive all the way and pick up hitchhiking villa fans on the way to share the cost of petrol :lol:

  2. Hi general, sorry to here you cant be there for the final, hopefully you'll be fighting fit on FA CUP day :D

Anyway can you please pass a big thank you on the MoN and the boys for the 6-4 semi-final from my 7 year old lad, he has been to VP twice now and yet to taste defeat(i cherry pick his games :winkold: )

and thank everyone at VP for the flags as my 7 year old has 4 up on his wall.

Anyway, i am bring my 5 year old daugther to the everton game and she is expecting nothing less than another 6-4 win, so if you could advise MoN and the players in advance :lol:

Also when i came to the blackburn game i took my little boy into the club shop and spent a tidy packet(all worth it) but he got a autograph book and pen, so we went and stood round the back to get autograph's before the game, sadly my little boy got upset as he only got reo-cokers as the rest of the players came straight of the coach and into VP.

Is this normal or was it just because it was a big game, anyway is there anywhere/anyone i could send his book to for the players to sign as i live in cardiff and work 6 days a week so cant get back home that often, i'll happily pay for the return post, plus it will put the biggest smile on his face. even though he only wanted gabby's and big john's autograph.

Cheers for all the good work and enjoy your 1st villa at wembley :D

  3. 3-0 to spurs...no way we are going to get anything from this game

i bet you were saying hull would get nothing against man city.

    2-0 hull at moment.

if that stays that way a win will put is in a great position, spuds are there for the taking, we just need to compete in the middle and not let them have all the ball.

ooops man city scored 2-1 come on the hull :D

  4. If we get there and win, I want it to be against Man City just to rub Barry's face in it a little, if we get there and lose I'd much rather lose to Utd.

It doesn't really answer the question though :P

Well seeing as we aren't in the final then there isn't really a question is there. :D

if we get there, who'd d'you rather play against

IF being the key word, yes there is ;)

I've changed my mind now anyway, most of my United mates support United so it would be just as sweet beating United. Also less pressure in terms of, if we lose I wouldn't be as annoyed. I could accept defeat to United but would hate to lose to City.

most of my United mates support United so it would be just as sweet beating United

what only most of your united friends support united or these the kind of friends that support whoever wins the league. :D

frankly i dont care who we are going to get if we make it to wembley, when we won in 93/94 we got untied who went on to win the league and fa cup and it didnt seem to bother our players then, either way a load of manc's are going home with there tails between there legs.

remember we are the mighty ASTON VILLA...

oh yeah and i had a dream that we got city in the final, it was 1-1 and we got a corner in the last minute, it was crossed in by ash and was thumped into the back of the net by GB, who then falls to his knee's in front of the estatic villa faithful

  5. so what do the anti-heskey posters say now? still a useless lump not fit to wear the shirt, or has the penny dropped that he contriubutes to the TEAM?

Going to be real tough this - a 1-0 win would be excellent.

so wha\t yousaying now mr fecking anti carew

    GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  6. General,

i know its something in the past and you might not want to bring it up again, but im looking to get your saying about "pigs in mud" tattoo'd on me with you name and the date you said it, but cant find it could you please refresh the phrase for me or pm me it also as im going to have it like a historical saying, i also ask for you permission.

ps if the mod's could find me the page it was quoted on id be grateful

cheers keep up the good work and hope your back up and running as we need our general up and running to drive us on :winkold: :winkold:

  7. Fergie will moan about 3 mins added time.

YOU WEREN'T COMPLAINING WHEN YOU GOT 5 MINS AGAINST US LAST YEAR YOU SCOTTISH PRICK!

his face was a picture when he saw it was only 3 minutes :lol:

no doubt he will whinge about it, but i think big brad only had to make 2-3 saves all game, i think the back 4 were immense and was what made the win more satisfiying.

    LIVERPOOL "BEAT"

    CHELSEA "BEAT"

    MAN UNITED "BEAT"

    bring on the ARSENAL.

  8. stay for me, no matter how much he frustrates the hell out of me, i love the wee irish fella.

i just wish someone would give him a knoick on the head and hopefully he will forget about 442 away from home and go back to the tried and test 451 pleeeeeeeaasseeeeeeeeeeeeee

  9. I posted in the match thread but i think it could go here also

Only Man city have lost less away games than us so far.

Only the 4 teams above us have won more away games than us so far.

5 teams have scored more goals than us away from home.

2 teams have let in less goals than us away from home.

Performances may not always be pretty for the whole 90 minutes but i don't think we've reached panic stations just yet.

Valid points, The Liverpool win was brilliant no doubt, but if you look at the teams we have played away:

Liverpool, Blues, Burnley, Wolves, Blackburn, West Ham - We would of gone, 9 points minimum, although expect at least 11 points, although why isn't 15 a realistic target? 13 definately is something we should of aimed for.

We've got 8 points, 6 of those points have come courtesy of our first two away games where we used the 4-5-1 formation and in the Blues game, we used it to tire Blues before bringing on Carew to give us that attacking impetus we needed. Since then we've been poor in every away performance playing 4-4-2 and have picked up 2 points from Wolves, Burnley, Blackburn, West Ham. Before those run of games, you'd of looked to be winning all 4, or at least 2/3 of them. It's also the performances, we haven't been unlucky in any of those, it's been poor performances and why I'm concerned is that we keep going 4-4-2 and it's failing. Had we started 4-4-2 and started away form poorly and O'Neill changed it to 4-5-1 in the last two games and we won those games, then I'd feel confident that are away form will be very good. That's the feeling I'm getting.

i cant disagree with any of this, i feel the manager is going to stick with 442 away from home until it works regardless of how long it will take, its no coincidence we have a great record away from home when playing 451, the results prove that. but sadly we have a stubborn manager that will do it his way.

i would like to know why when we were flying last year playing 451 and had won 7 away games on the bounce he felt he needed to change it, surely if it isnt broken then dont try and fix it.

maybe when MoN has the next fans forum someone could ask him why he did what he did and still persist to do so.

because for me its nothing short of stupidty to continue to play a way that obviously doesnt suit us and restricts our natural way of playing.

MoN brought us the fast paced , counter attacking football, and as much as it wasnt the fancy football some would like, it was exciting and certainly played to our strengths.

as last season away from home all our away games were like a white knuckle ride. i have followed the villa for the last 28 years and last year was the only time i can remember where i could go to games and not know what to expect.

ie 2-0 down to arsenal and coming back and getting the equaliser at the death, everton away, arsenal away to name a few.

  10. I think people still like Collins but it's about sending a message I think, and I think only good would come out of keeping the same team.

It would show players that they can win a place and it's not just whoever's name I.e if Reo-Coker was dropped for Petrov, what would others think, what would Reo-Coker think? If you were a Petrov, you'd probably say to yourself "Okay I'm unlucky to be out the team but we won 5-1, and next time the team need me, I'm going to step my game up even more so I claim a place"

i couldnt have said it better, petrov was suspended, which was his own fault. in his abscence we demolish bolton 5-1, its now his turn to sit and wait, also i think reo-coker is a better captain, he's more vocal and the players seem to respond to his authority, not only did he have a good game at the weekend but for once you knew who was the leader on the pitch.

saturday we finally saw players playing in there correct position and i think we can all agree we looked so much more balanced, i think carlos has filled in at right back well, but i would pick l.young everytime at rightback over him.

we finally have a squad and the players seem to realise this, there's no way any of the starting 11 should be dropped for burnley, they've earnt there chance to go again, plus if we go all out against them i think they could also get what bolton got, as burnley are very poor in defense and i cant see how they are going to contain over front 4.

  11. Why are we finding it so hard to create from open play?

    Its a tad worrying

the only thing i can think of is the dreaded 4-4-2 formation, we just cant play this with 2 out and out wingers, we all know 4-5-1/4-3-3 suits us and we create chances playing it, sadly MON thinks different, time for heskey to come off and bring on DELPH or SIDWELL
