  1. i get the feeling that we are relying on selling Milner to fund our transfers this summer, and i think city might know that and will hold out till the last min to get him..

I've said this all along, that we've got no money and was ridiculed for it

    *Continues to ridicule SGC*

I think we do have money based on Randy's press release. I fully expect 15-20m net spent this window. A lot of other things hinge on the Milner transfer, we need it to come to an end. God I hope he stays!

i think the funds are there and the funds will be boosted by anything we get for the surplus players.

not sure if anyone watched the ashley young video last night but to me, he was talking about him and the lads playing with jimmy next year, and then said jimmy would know by now what he wants to do.

now im not saying he's staying but just found it weird and it all seemed honest answers by ash.

anyway if anyone hasnt seen it, its after last nights goals

    goals and interview

like i say i might be just clutching at straws

  2. I'm sure sir_gary_cahill would only be content if the team only contained Darren Bent in every position.

i bet he must of creamed his pants when he read this.

Tim 'the squid' Spoors (Sunderland) says...

Darren Bent to Villa for Heskey+10million (Bruce has signed Heskey twice already and knows how to get the best out of him)

Taken from skysports rumour page

  3. I've lost the quoted post now, but I wouldn't worry about what most of the posters think about a deal on the Bluemoon Transfer Forum. Half of them think the Torres deal is done, and the other half spend their lives shouting at them to be more realistic. 'Tis an enchanting place though, it's like internet crack..

Anyway, Milner would definitely get in our team. He'd be ahead of SWP on the right wing, and ahead of Bellamy on the left. The only winger I think he'd be behind is Johnson, purely because he's our next "Great White Hope" so to speak. This is presuming that Silva plays in the centre. If he turns out a bit flimsy for that role, Milner can goes in the centre as a box to box with any combination of Barry/De Jong/Toure next to him.

'Tis an enchanting place though, it's like internet crack..

I have to agreed with you, i often browse the site just for the comedy value, and its seems a good forum, as long as you dont pretned to be ITK or attack 1 of the worshipped ITK's :winkold:

i was considering joining up as it seems a friendly place, and unliked some i dont begrudge city there new found welfare, i just hope the powers that be at city have learnt from the REAL MADRIDS of this world and that 11 superstars dont make a team, but i guess time will tell.

  4. Was just talking to somebody on FB who says Barry realises leaving us was a mistake and he would jump at the chance to rejoin. This person is very confident as they know Barry through associates. Would you take him?

I don't think he'd be good enough to get in our current team, so once we upgrade the midfield I definitely don't see where he would fit in.

Useful player to have in the squad. But he might as well be a useful player for Man City to have in their squad as they are paying him £60,000 per week more than we would be.

id swap him for petrov, they both no pace but GB would last the 90 minutes, but i can nver see him coming back due to the reaction he go for leaving.

and if what you have been told is true, then surely this would work in our favour as no doubt GB and Jimmy would have talked about the specualtion of him to city during the world cup.

like i said IF true, but also if he was for sale then city would want there money back and i dont think he's worth the 12 million anymore.

  5. His head has been turned it's money simple as :!:

just out of interest how has his head been turned, i guess we havent excepted a bid or given him permission to talk to other teams, so are you saying the press speculation has turned his head or has he been tapped up.

And if so is MoN and Randy going to stand there and let it happen.

Now im not saying that tapping up doesnt go on, but its still not allowed in football and if teams are doing it and are caught then they need to be punished.

  6. I wonder whether Randy was telling us he's already being sold when he said "sell to buy". Done deal, if the price is right. Oh, Paulanddonya, great post. Agree with all of it.

see now this is what gets me, so many people had different views on that statement, myself i read it that Randy wants us get rid of the players MoN doesn't want before we go out and buy again and anything made from them sales would be used in conjuction with the rest of the transfer kitty we have.

I also read in that statement that no player would be sold that MoN doesnt want to sell, and i believe Milner comes into this, i believe that no matter what Man City or anyone offer if MoN and milner himself decide that Jimmy is to stay the i think all bid's will be rejected.

I think that the GB saga proved that point and i think the way GB and Liverpool went about it, was why we were willing to sell for less a season later or even let himn go for nothing if he had stayed.

With Milner i just can't see him going down the GB route for a transfer and if he made it clear to MoN and Randy he wanted to leave then aslong as we got the Price that MoN and Randy were happy with then he'd go.

I know we dont have an endless pot of money and i wouldnt really want it either, but i'd never swap Randy Lerner for any other chairman out there.

  7. He didn't say Carew's goal ratio was poor, he said it wasn't good enough for the absolute nothing else he brings to the game. He didn't state Cole's was better but basically implied that with Cole you get alot more than just goals aswell as scoring well his fair share of goals in recent seasons.

I disagree that Cole is the answer but he didn't state that Cole somehow had a better goal ratio than Carew.

thats exactly what he was saying, he said he;s inconsistant(so is cole), poor team work(coles not much better) injury problems (cole has had his fair share)

and then to say someone with a goal every 2 1/2 games is not worth the money but to sign carthorse that would no doubt be on not much less but a worse goal ratio.

next you will be saying heskey is worth everything that we pay him, except he doesnt do what he's paid to do and thats put the ball in the back of the net(which is what you buy a STRIKER to do).

our problem is that we havew 2 strikers that score(not enough) and one that just doesnt score.

for me heskey has to go and i'd bring in Keane who i think would also score 10-15 a season and would work better with carew or gabby.

a few have said on here carew may turn out to be used as an impact sub, which i think is a good shout and he score's, but we need to get another striker in to enable that.

this season there was nothing worse than watching MoN bring on heskey, everyone knew that the likelihood of him scoring was low.

i would be happy to see our front 4 for next year as Gabby, Keane, Carew and Deflounso

and i think all 4 would bring something different.

  8. Carew's inconsistency, poor teamwork and injury problems mean his goal ratio is not good enough to justify his wages. I would like to see Carlton Cole at Villa as a replacement for one of those two looks like a complete striker to me

ok then lets look at the stat's

    john carew

    Years Team Apps† (Gls)†

    total club appearances 185

    total club goals 38

that woks out to be a goal every 4.86 games

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM yeah lets get rid of some and bring in worse, just had an idea why not play him up front with heskey, that would serious scare the opponents goal :lol::lol::lol::lol:

  9. Another season at Villa won't do him any harm at all.

It might cost us £15m though.

It wouldn't do him any harm but it might harm the club. If he doesn't sign a new deal this summer he has to go. It's a shame, but I think that's the truth.

he will either leave or sign a new contract, MoN and Randy wont go down the Barry route again, and i think either way Milnr will want it resolved 1 way or the other this summer.

myself i think the contracrt will be signed either before the WC or an agreement will be made.

  10. ok the Razor if we are so deluded what the hell would you say about this lot on Bluemoon

To be fair to him, he is probably hoping he has an outstanding World cup in the hope he flushes out Chelsea's interest as well to give him as many bargaining chips as possible. Can't really argue with it.

One thing I would be certain about is that he wont be at Villa by August. He is talking about them in a past tense in his interview.

    Correct........

    :lol::lol:

now thats fecking deluded to me

  11. Just wondering Razor if you was one of the people who said Barry is a certainty to sign for Liverpool after the 07-08 season? You was right, he did go to Liverpool.....oh wait.

No, but i knew he would leave one way or another, which he did. I bet you were one of these blinded by loyalty that thought he had Villa4Life! tattoed on his bellend?

    no but i have :D

and on the barry SAGA, the villa won the contest he never went to scousepool, but we all knew including MoN he would go after his outburst.

but the point was proved, regardless who the player is he will go when MoN and Randy say.

now are you saying Jimmy is going to go down the Barry route to get a move, because i just cant see it.

This is the same Jimmy Milner that was **** about by freddie shephard but still went back and gave his all like the true professional he is.

but then again im just a DELUDED FOOL

  12. It was nice knowing you James.

Anyone that thinks he is staying now is completely deluded.

    Football sucks.

come on then razor where's the proof or because you said so he's gone, its not deluded to have faith in the management of aston villa, i dont think they want to sell and i dont think he wants to go, maybe you should remove your head from your self important ARSE and wait and see.

but then again i am deluded, and also i thinkits great what shearer has come out and said and think if Jimmy is thinking about it, Alan Shearer is a big idol of his and would listen to his advise, not that he needs it.

  13. "To be linked with any clubs is flattering but I'm just concentrating on England at this time

    excellent.

Not exactly firm committment there to staying with us.

Bye bye James. AT least as fans we had a glimpse of the future for a short time

The only thing we can do now is get the best possible deal for us.

I'd Take Tevez and Ireland please or 30M and Ireland

shit you got all that from just that line

"The season finished at Villa a week and a bit ago and we all said we would discuss it (my future) after the World Cup.

"I've enjoyed my time at Aston Villa, it's a good club, we've had a lot of success this season, came close in two competitions, and we are moving forward."

going on your logic this line must mean he's staying and looking forward to pushing on with the villa next season

  14. as the general has stated randy wants the best for the villa

What if Randy thinks what is best is taking 30 or 40M, clearing some debts and funding our summer transfer spending?

Then if thats what Randy thinks and MON agrees, I'm all for it.

With respect, the person who originally posted the comment was saying that he didn't think we would take a silly offer as Randy would not think it in the best interests of the club, like you I think an offer of 30M plus would be too good for the owner to turn down. I was just saying to the original poster that his interpretation of what Randy feels is in the best interests of the club and what Randy actually feels is in the best interests of the club may in fact be at odds wtih one another

i agree i was just saying i dont think Randy is motivated by big money offers for players, his interest is ASTON VILLA, and he trust MoN, and if MoN doesnt want to sell he wont regardless of the offer, plus i cant see milner playing up like GB.

im fairly confident Milner will be in our beloved Claret and Blue next season.

  15. As I have said previously, players have a huge influence over whether they stay or not, especially when a club has not encouraged a transfer. More than happy to accept that Milner may not want to leave the club and so has not asked to leave.

However, should Villa accept a Citeh bid I think he'll be off.

i sort of agree but i thing with the manager and owner we now have they would only consider selling if the player wanted to go, as shown with the GB saga, i just dont think Jimmy wants to leave which will mean we will not sell at ANY PRICE.

people seem to think that if they offer us a ridiculus offer we will take it, i dont, as the general has stated randy wants the best for the villa, and he doesnt seem to be the sort of owner that would be swayed by a big money offer.

  16. ok my take on it that he's going nowhere.

    and here is why.

I think MoN and Randy knew this was coming and is why Randy said what he did at his press conference, also they seem very confident that they will sit down with him after the world cup and discuss a new deal.

now i believe MoN is very close to his players and is why they give there all on the pitch.

if we were still owned by Deadly Doug he'd be gone but i think them days are long gone, i dont think we will sell for ANY PRICE.

sadly we are dealing with Man Shitty and it may take a few more offers before they get the message.
