Not sure about the NRC link to Newcastle. Surely the two clubs would have done a swap deal (+ cash) if NRC was heading to Newcastle and Parker is on the way to WHU. Because Parker was brought out right.. it leads me to think that the toons dont want NRC and are likely to got for another midfielder like Barton

Well, heard aload of rumours about west ham looking at him and there it is. Hmmmm 8.5mil is a high 1st first! Its a 'no nonsense - john smith' bid that is... trying to scare other teams away. I think the Toons and Big Sam will take that bid and use it to bring in some of his own players. I doubt WHU will have any competition with a bid that high. I'd pay 7-8mil for him... no way would i pay over 8.5mil even though I said early in this thread that i'd like him at the villa

Love to see Scott Parker come to VP. I think he has the right attributes as a DM and is experienced which we currently lack with all our young squad. WHU fans already think he is a done deal . Not sure whether he'd leave the toons though Bale - not too fussed that his gone to spurs. He is very very young and he has massive potential. However, we already have players with so-called 'massive potential' i.e Gabby, Moore, Young, Cahill etc etc... which is nice but implies that they are decent young players who MAY become top class in the near future. Villa need to start signing players who are top class now and players will deliver straight away. Kewell - no thanks... Liverpool fans want him out for a reason
