First time under Emery I didn't have a clue what we were trying to do first half as we looked clueless. Fair play to him though he got it spot on in the second half and his subs changed the game. Would have been a real injustice had we lost it at the end as only one team tried to play football in that second half.  I couldn't watch that tripe West Ham serve up every week.

I think the combination of West Ham pressing very correctly against our two left playing CBs (they forced specially Lenglet to use his right foot when playing out from behind) and Tieleman and Luiz not being available made it very difficult for us in the first half. We just were not our usual self with the ball.

tactical substitution but acknowledged he is on a learning curve.

It seemed that Emery wanted Digne to play higher up in the pitch, and that he was afraid that Rogers would be more of a passenger than the players that entered the pitch. Looks a good move in retrospect.

  3. I think he played very well today. Looks more and more solid. Was of course a miscommunication with Martinez, but very solid. I have asked the quiestion why we got this guy on loan, but I am very glad we did this loan now. I think he is a lot better than Carlos.

  4. I think he will do fine in Napoli. I am sure he will be sold at the end of the season after a good loan spell.

Some players are just not suited to the tempo in Premier League, and I think Dedonker is one of them who will do a lot better in Holland, Germany or Italy.

Villamole1 aka thatcherlover still pretending he's a ITK in 2024.

That is the way to be a proper ITK. You take some former press speculation and add with your own imaginary details (agent demanding move and club will settle for loan of buy back). Ridiculous.

  6. It's nice to see him back on the pitch. But he is struggling a bit, making wrong moves, holding on to the ball too long and seems generally a bit off. Think a goal will make wonders for his self esteem.

  7. That Ben Mee ****! Has hated him with all of my heart after destroying Wesley, but very satisfied that he turned it around for us today with that reckless challenge.

  8. Another player who is worth having in the squad, although all tha accountants and money men among our fans are afraid that we might lose some money on him due to having to pay the wages....

  9. Even though some of our players can be frustrating at times, I think everyone now start to see the value of having a big squad with players that are capable. The idea of getting rid of all those you feel are not top 11 material is a stupid one.

  10. Not going to join this heated debate, but I have for a long time wondered where the ISIS soldiers went when their dram of a caliphate in Iraq and Syria went to hell. I now think I have an idea. Some of the things that were done on Saturday is way beyond what I had thought that the Palestinians would do. I think Hamas have taken in foreign soldiers who are more capable of these acts than frustrated and radicalized youths from Gaza.

  11. The thing is he isn't even that pretty. But certainly he has a lovely bottom.

He comes across as a nice guy. Thought him and Alisha made a good couple.

PS. Hope people see how ridiculous this post is. As is the post in the Alisha Lehmann thread.

I want this donkey out of my club. Can’t cross, can’t pass and physically child like

I don't agree at all. And that is why I am very happy that we have a great manager that has faith in the kid.

  13. I remember people were having a go at Luiz, and then he suddenly was linked with Arsenal. The biggest critics were really shocked about the link, and those who saw potential were certain that he would become a star if he went to Arsenal. Luckily he stayed and became a Villa star.

Not comparing with Tielemans in skills, but it's worth noting that a lot can change with confidence, a good set up from the coaching staff and 12 months down the line.
