More like who's got the least annoying whiney bleating singing style. Dylan wins but only just.

Look out helter skelter helter skelter
i like the other songs, but some of the lyrics IMO are just shiite
Don't let Charlie hear you say that.

I never fail to be bemused by how wrong people who disagree with me are.
The Beach Boys better than the Beatles. Like saying Pompey are better than Barcelona.
You boys is well deluded an that.
I like this bloke

Thing is with the Beatles, people just over analyse them. They made a great noise, killer tunes and got managed very well in all departments.
The Beatles Circus came to town and owned for about 5 years. You can't beat that.

he Beatles are without doubt the greatest group of musical artists in recorded history
Can't wait for Bicks to comment on that :-)
He will be seething when he logs on and finds this thread.
I predict a riot

How come??
he changed the arrangement or something and even helped with the lyrics as Paul was struggling on bit sof it .. when they bitchiness started in the 70's Lennon denied any knowledge of the song and said it was "All Pauls" but if you read some of the obscure Beatles publications I have then Mal Evans etc point to Lennon's input
it's often the way they worked so not that big a deal and McCartney may still have produced the same song without help
Ah OK. I thought you were going to say Lennon wrote the bridging part (why she had to go etc).
Agreed.

Lennon's songwriting was inferior to McCartneys
other way around for me , even Mc's greatest moment "Yesterday" only came to be due to Lennon's input
How come??

Have a listen to "She Said She Said" off Revolver. It could have been released by any guitar band today.Timeless music.

But your biased Mr shears :-)
Fab Four still winning dude

The Beach Boys all the way for me.
The inspiration for the Beatles goes back before 'Pet Sounds' to 'All Summer Long' (1964) and 'Today' (1965) especially side 2 of that particular album.
You are a man of knowledge and good taste, sir ;-)
But he likes George the best so there goes the taste
-
Example:
1965 - "Help" pales next to "California Girls" (IMO, obviously)
Compare it to "Yesterday", which McCartney dreamt.
Or, "Ticket To Ride"
Both off Help 1965

Well you know where my vote goes However, I listen to the Beach Boys and love what they did, but for me it just doesn't hit the spot. I soon get tired of listening. But with the Beatles ( pre White Album) I hang on every note of 90% of their songs.
The Beatles weren't just the band, they played out of tune a lot in the early days, McCartney comes across as an arse in interviews, Lennon's songwriting was inferior to McCartneys, but when it all came together those few short years nothing can hold a candle to them, even to this day.
Sorry Rantin, the Beach Boys were less popular and deservedly so

Evens for me.

Should be in the other thread about phrases but Radio 4 described it as 'Stagflation' this morning.
