We’ve got a small patch of grass next to our drive at the back of our house that I wanted to let grow a bit, at least until mid-June, based on something I read about dandelions being beneficial for wildlife and generally wanting to do my tiny bit for rewilding.

The sight of a small patch of somewhat ‘untidy’ grass on somebody else’s property offends one of our neighbours so much that they keep cutting it. I’m waiting to catch them so I can have a word but they only seem to do it when we’re out.

Minor quibble but it would’ve been nice to end the season with the defeats column in single figures. 

Anyone know who the extremely dodgy looking bloke in the shades sitting next to Ronaldo is? Joshua looks terrified of him.

Aw I don’t think I ever really slate players so I’m bit gutted to have been reminded of that.

But I can’t make myself look weak by changing my mind so I’m going to stick my guns on this one - he’s shite.

Blimey. It’s looked fairly likely for a while but I still can’t quite believe it. 

I wasn’t alive when we last played in the European Cup and to be honest, I never thought I’d live to see us make it again.

What a **** letdown.

You’d have hoped we might have been able to be competitive over two legs just by showing a bit of nous. Instead we’ve been utterly predictable and been completely outplayed. 

McGinn has been brilliant tonight, to be fair. Can’t do it all on his own, though, unfortunately. 

It’s just not happening is it? Even without their goal, we don’t look like scoring. It’s not for lack of effort but everything around their box seems so forced and we’re barely creating half chances. They also look like a really organised, well-coached team so have to hold your hands up. They’re playing this perfectly.

I think he’s one of our best and most important players (top three or four, possibly) but he’s the one who currently looks the most knackered. His form has dropped off a cliff.

They clearly are, though. Check their form and stats, as I said in my post. 

Our best season in years and years yet we still can’t shake the habit of contriving to lose to the worst teams in the league, of which Brighton currently are in terms of form and stats. 

We’re clearly exhausted both mentally and physically but I’m pretty sure that a large part of that first half performance was energy preservation. 

Tielemans has been brilliant today.

Weird game. We’ve been dicked and not really been as competitive as I would’ve liked but we’ve had a fair few really decent individual performances. 

Great game so far. Grealish playing a bit more like his Villa self tonight (unfortunately) but I’m loving seeing him get absolutely no joy every time he comes up against Konsa. 

We’re actually showing a bit of promise going forward. Zaniolo and Diaby looking lively. 

Digne has changed the game. 

I hate the way West Ham play. They’re crap and it’s no surprise that they take so many heavy beatings. I hate even more that we’re playing exactly how they’d want us to.
