I haven't had any issues at all with the controls. I find them very intuitive. I certainly wouldn't want to have to keep clicking in the L-Stick every few seconds to boost the horse's speed whilst also trying to maneuver it with the same stick. That really would be awful. Having it on X/Square makes perfect sense to me for that reason.
In a perfect world though, every game that uses a horse as a mode of transport would pay Rockstar lots of money to use their RDR horse tech.

I'll probably get this finished tonight. Thoroughly enjoyable.

It's utterly fantastic so far and lives up to the hype.
I'm itching to get stuck in but I pre-ordered it on PC so having to wait patiently until tonight

If there's anyone here who likes film score and cinematic stuff, here's something I just finished today.

I've been using mine as a Kodi box. It's wonderful.
What OS are you using?
Raspbmc or OSMC?
Openelec. (I think! )
Yes, it's OpenELEC,
Did you do that system restore btw? I still need to sort that update out for you.

Pre-BC was the game at its best for me, about the time they rolled in the first major talent tree overhaul prior to the expansion's release. No flying mounts and Wolrd PvP was still very active. I returned for Wrath and Cataclysm (and played a trial of MoP) but it never really did anything for me.

Best I got from a few attempts.

Wow, if they took notes and didn't give you a copy to proofread, amend and sign then they've **** up pretty badly.

I understand they dont like what I wrote - hardly the smartest thing to have done, and I didnt exactly use formal language to express my thoughts.
I do feel its just a sit down chat which will result in a severe telling off/warning, but the missus is adamant that because the letter has come through HR im going to get the sack
The 3rd person in the room will be the witness/note taker and should have no say in the discussion. You'll just be asked about what you've posted publicly on social media with the severity of what you said being discussed. If it's something petty, you acknowledge you've been a bit of a tit doing it (because you were frustrated or whatever) and hold your hands up then it'll probably end there with a reminder of your social media obligations regarding your employer. I do think the language they've used in the letter is a bit poor mind - it should be an "informal discussion" at this stage and not an investigation.
But if they feel that what you've said brings the company's reputation into disrepute or that you've caused a serious breach of trust in your employer/employee relationship (potentially gross misconduct) then they might see cause to take it to a formal investigation/disciplinary procedure and suspend you pending formal investigation. If it goes that far, you most certainly will be offered the chance of representation in your investigation invitation. Before that though, it really is just an internal company discussion and representation really isn't a given. Based on my own involvement in mediating these kind of things, if you generally have a good working relationship with your employer and acknowledge what you did was a bit silly and show understanding of the situation, it most certainly will end there. If you go in aggressive and prepared for some kind of perceived battle then you'll probably be in for a bumpy ride.
I wouldn't worry about it until you hear what they have to say. Also, make sure they don't see this thread either.

Well I'm not in a band and I don't really play an instrument (I always did want to learn piano) so I'm not sure I qualify as a musician but anyway, here's something I finished today. https://soundcloud.com/simon-spark/fading-lifesigns

I think the musical themes are in good hands with any of Squares in-house composers. The music is memorable enough that so long as some good orchestral arrangement is applied, it'll work. I think Uematsu probably will sign on to do the soundtrack but if not, I reckon Masashi Hamauzu would be a good pick. His FFXIII score was sublime.

Not going to get my hopes up tbh
If they **** this up im never going to buy another product from them again
Imagine if they deviate from the original story and change the battle system to real time and include quick time events..... #puke
They just need to update the graphics and leave all the gameplay exactly the same
no dumbing down of materia no dumbing down of the game narrative
a remake in graphics alone leave the original game as it is a masterpiece
They're going to have to update many aspects of it because there is a vast audience of gamers out there who aren't going to stomach 20 year old game design. Hell, even those of us old enough to have garnered the nostalgia potent enough to overlook a lot of that old design might not be able to forgive a 2016/17 release containing it. I know I wouldn't and I loved FFVII in its day.
The way I see it, this remake is going to piss off some FFVII fans no matter what. But those who want a strictly "visual upgrade only" version of the original game resold to them are going to be in for bitter disappointment. Game design has evolved by an order of magnitude over the past 20 years. To ignore that when remaking something even as beloved as FFVII would be utterly mental for Square to do. The key is going to be Square retaining the feel, the flavour and the essence of the game.
What Capcom did to the original Resident Evil when it remade that is probably a good template for how I feel this FFVII remake will turn out. To me, that's an exciting prospect.

360 backwards compatibility has been confirmed, as expected, as a software emulator.
Impressive for sure.
Futhermore...

It really couldn't have been anything else. Pretty shifty of them to throw around langauge to obfuscate that. I wonder what Phil Spencer's definition of "native" is to justify that.

That collectors edition Pipboy looks like something you'd find in the toy section of 1990s Argos catalogue.
Glad to see the FPS combat in Fallout 4 seems better - hard to really tell but it looked like they've gotten rid of the chance to hit bollocks? The game is more interesting to me than I thought it would be. Love the splash of colour. Fallout 3 was far too brown.

It's absolutely not gameplay. It's the engine rendering footage on the sort of PC that's so powerful it requires a human sacrifice to run. There's no way what we get to play will look as good as that.
Yup. Why do people keep falling for this year after year? Gamers really do have the shortest memories.

Wow, looking on NeoGAF it seems the Shemnue news is the biggest thing ever.... why?
The series has had a weirdly devout fanbase ever since Sega ran out of money to make more Shenmue. I've never understood it myself either.

it looks like a prime candidate for a graphical downgrade scandal when it launches.
Guerrilla make very pretty games, so I wouldn't be so sure
Killzone is possibly one of the most infamous E3 bullshots trailers to have ever occurred. Guerrilla have dirty hands when it comes to over promising on reveal visuals.

Strong start from Sony. Horizon looks great although it looks like a prime candidate for a graphical downgrade scandal when it launches.

"Let's talk about mobile"
Lets not.
Edit: They REALLY want us to know they own the Star Wars license.

I'm nodding off here....

I'm unconvinced by its implementation. I want to see that shit working and properly supported, not drip feeding us handfuls of titles at a snail's pace (or merely bundled with next gen sequels) that fail to emulate the titles 100%.
So far, the MS conference isn't setting me on fire as much.
It's not emulation, it's native
How can it not be a form of emulation?
As far as I'm aware, the Xbone doesn't include 360 hardware to run that stuff. MS said that devs don't need to do anything apart from submit their games for inclusion. I can't see MS doing ports for free and they haven't mentioned streaming. The only conclusion is that they're utilising a form of emulation on the executable unless I'm missing something here?
-
Sea of Thieves looks pretty damn fun.
-
It's great, because it means devs will bundle old games with the new ones - ala fallout 3 with fallout 4, and r6 and r6 vegas with the new r6I'm unconvinced by their backwards compatibility at this point.
On another note, Sony need a HUGE conference, because they're falling further and further behind right now
The idea is great.

Loved the look of the new controller.

I didn't get it finished but my opinion of it has gone from enjoyable to exceptional.
