I'd rather see Gauci come on in midfield than Zaniolo
-
Been losing the midfield battle since half time and changed nothing.
Mistake from Emery for me. Completely underestimated Luton.
Still changing nothing.
-
Shocking turnaround
-
Meatball and Luiz been completely anonymous 2nd half

Rodgers is so much better than Zaniolo.

I don't know how we contrived to not win that, nevermind lose.
Ref was an absolute disgrace. Finishing from Villa was worse.
But as many have said, they can do it against Sheff United away, but at home they forget their lines.
Mentally weak but special mention for the coaching staff: United saw it, the crowd saw it, even the gobshites at Sky saw it, but somehow the coaching staff couldn't see McGuire was the danger man at corners and Kamara couldn't deal with him and changed nothing. Bravo

Another Emery horror show for me today.
CL qualification or win the Conference League. Getting neither, and it's a poor season.

That couldn’t have gone any better for Newcastle. Get everyone behind the ball and pump it long at every opportunity and focus on set pieces.
We need to improve and fast.
It worked. Undone by anti football tactics. Very avoidable.

Absolute shocker from Unai tonight.

Someone sees something in Zaniolo. I see a stroppy child who has zero work ethic. Waste of talent.

8-1 on aggregate - embarrassing
-
Matty Cash you buffoon

We've lost that urgency again
-
Funny how we start looking more dangerous when we start being more direct and moving the ball faster...

Studies done say January signings have little impact on ppg improvement that season. Add FFP restrictions vs it's just fan lust for new and don't care if doesn't work out just get new player
I'd love to see those studies and how representative they are of top flight english teams that were challenging at the top of the league with a squad as small as ours.

I just don't understand us.
We look dangerous when we move the ball quickly, run at defenders and take players on.
We look toothless when we play possession football.
So why do we spend so much time playing possession football when it's clearly not what we are well suited to?

Bright end to the half. But some pretty shocking displays out there from the fence and midfield.

With FFP I’m not sure numbers was ever really an option
Not pushing now and miss CL or push and make CL.
Reaching CL would make us a massive amount of money.

We've been dire since Man City.
Needed some numbers this window to maintain the push. Not happened.
See us dropping away now like that Gregory season.

Could be another Newcastle drubbing here

Ball watching, every one of them. No one tracking the runners

Shocking performance not helped by the constant fouling and piss poor officials.
But we do ourselves no favours with this painfully slow build up play.
Keeping posession is very powerful, but without the ability to change up the gears, it just becomes predictable and that is where we are right now.
Every one knew how we were going to play the game and how Everton would counter it. Had we just passed with a little more urgency around the box we'd have won comfortably.
Disappointed and it's becoming more and more so.
