  1.

When Man City destroy us 10-0 on Wednesday all you Lambert Luvvies are going to want him out as much as everyone else.

Thanks to those Lambert Luvvies and their bloody logic I'm starting to warm *slightly* to the idea of him staying with investment. When he's had more than a million to spend on a player he's done well (and occasionally with even less).

Or at least, I'm not *completely* averse to it. I maintain he has good ideas but doesn't know how to implement them consistently. Maybe a decent coach or two (and better players) might help him to do so...

    *Might*

Sticking with Lambert will put a huge downer on any takeover that happens. Lambert is a bad smell and a relic of Lerner. We deserve way, way better than that out-of-his-depth charlatan.

  2. Most stupid poll ever. One first team regular with 30+ appearances and 5 goals, against....

2 lads who have probably only featured once for about 10 minutes each this season. I don't even think Donacien has actually got onto the pitch.

  3. Yeah, good old Woy will play Gerrard and Cleverley........and then bring Fat Old Frank on in the second half.

Barkley is the future of England. He should be playing now.

  4. How do we know that the "dire brand of football" was Lambert's or Culverhouse's influence?

if manager and coach have come to completely divergent views on how to set the team up and tactics, it's entirely possible that you're not going to have a situation of play one style one week, another the next. one view will win out. Culverhouse and Karsa were bullies. I reckon the dire football was their doing.

I'm sure Barry Bannan would have made a difference. (LOL)

  5. Although I haven't particularly enjoyed his tenure, there have been some good points, knocking Citeh out of the cup last season, Liverpool 3-1, relegating droopy face's QPR, Sunderland 6-1, having the indian sign over Norwich, Arsenal 3-1, Man City 3-2 and Chelsea 1-0.

Problem is these have been too few and far between and we have never "pushed on" with him as manager.

I can understand the constraints he has had to work with but he himself has done quite well financially out of this club.

As well as the failure to push on, the main reason I want him gone is that we continue to get the simple stuff wrong and I can't see this changing. His coaching staff created a real stink around the club and that was inexcusable and added an extra worry to an already dire situation. I reckon that's the main reason none of our players really developed from last season - even Delph's early season promise hit the skids - and Albrighton has just been playing well so he can land a new contract.

  6. I am probably very much in the minority but I would prefer to give him another season, especially if the financial restrictions might be lifted. Has he made mistakes over the past 2 years? Hell yes, but don't we all from time to time? As long as he learns from them and makes changes then it will benefit us going forwards. If we get rid of him, then who will want to come to us?? Who would we realistically get? Some manager that failed in at least one other club in all probability! Do you really think that a new manager would do much better with the current bunch of fit players? What this club needs is stability, the more successful clubs have kept the same manager for more than 2 seasons. Look at Arsenal, Everton (with Moyes), Man U (with Ferguson). I know that Chelski and $ity have changed their managers much more but they are huge spending exceptions who just buy success. I still believe that Lambert is a good, young manager and that there are exciting times ahead for The Villa...

I honestly do not think Lambert will ever be a good manager for us, even if he had money to spend.

He'd just continue to buy more dross and play limited, prehistoric tactics. We know what he is, Martin O'Neill without the man management skills. And if you doubt me, read up about Paul Lambert and the one manager he idolises and still calls "the gaffer" - Martin O'Neill. He's the last person I'd give an injection of cash to.

Chances are with talk of this takeover someone better will be lined up anyway.

  7. I'd hate to be a Fulham fan right now. With their ageing squad and overpaid primadonnas they will really struggle in the championship. Will the owner back an attempt to go striaght back up? With all their huge wages and the lack of TV money they will be in a precarious position.

  8.

    He deserves the sack.

Any other club in the league and he would have been sacked earlier.

Well yes, absolutely. He's only been kept on because our owner is utterly weak and incompetent.

Can't wait for these circus clowns to be out of our club.

  9. He got today spot on and he deserves credit for that, but I think this requires looking at another "bigger picture" - that of his record across this season and last. 10 wins in 37 home games is just not good enough. He deserves the sack.
