  1. just over 48hrs left, i'll go with my original prediction of a big fat 0.

Anything now will be a bonus.

A real chance of getting into europe gone, a lottery now with injuries when it didn't have to be!

Yep, that's how I feel. A chance to consolidate and even kick on has gone begging.

  2. Unlucky Ricky, did the nation proud tonight!

The chips were always against him with it not being his weight class, and Mayweathers huge advantage in terms of reach, but Hatton put up a good fight in front of a great set of fans. Mayweather played a superb fight and showed that he is the best around right now, gotta give him credit where it's due.

He did, unlike the arseholes that booed their national anthem. That wound the Yanks up like nothing and looks bad on what great support he had with him.MW, was rattled in the first few rounds, but the class that he has lured Ricky off his game plan and he also played the ref a blinder too. That's what makes a Champion of his calibre. I also think that if the fight had been in the UK, it would have been closer.

Nevermind, I'd like t see Ricky concetrate on the Light Welterweight division. He still has a lot to offer.

  3. The second City is Birmingham. Fact. If they want to throw in oldham, salford and those lot, we'll start adding Wolves, Walsall and Cov!!! (mkaybe Kiddy )

Could we do that if wolverhampton and coventry are cities in there own right

EDIT: So is Salford so why the hell not

I'm quite sure that the residents of Wolves and Cov would be in uproar about being a part of Birmingham, in much the same case as those of Oldham, Stockport and Bolton would be as part of Manchester.

Manchester is not as big as Leeds.

  4. they're quality. saw them live in ibiza supporting the dirty pretty things last month. they were better than the dirty pretty things! attracted loads of blues fans though and it came across that the majority of the band were noses! . . . gd tho

One Villa, One SHA, Three Tescos

  5. 12. Local laws dictate that we close the drink shutters a period of time before kick-off at beginning of game and half-time.

General, can we please make sure that the stewards adhere to the timzones allocated then, rather than trimming them for the sake of it.

On more than one occasion, the bars have been shut 20 mins before the start of a game, I know because I had a discussion with one of the senior stewards, a young lady in the UpperHolte, who in the end said to me, and I'll quote "I decide when the shutters come down".

Has the cub looked into challenging this bye-law?

  6. General......I know you have some clout so can you find out why the Ramseys bar ran out of ALL draught beer befire four o'clock????

We had to go to another kiosk for a drink, and eventually ended up with a bottle of lager thanks to my mate arguing with the staff, who were refusing to serve even though we had queued for 20 minutes.

I thought this type of balls up was a thing of the past......can't think of any good reason why the main bar in the Holte would run out of beer on the first game of the season.

    Thanks.

    Rob

As a normal Holtender, this is something similar to what I've asked in the past. I was in the Trinity today and the serving points that were so-called "express" were nothing of the sort, and finely managed to get a drink and in turn miss Laursens goal.

    A few of points:

    1. General, there are some grounds that allocate drinking time prior to the match, right up to kick off. How come we don't have that at Villa? Someone mentioned to me that it is a local bye-law - is this true?

    2. At Edgbaston and New Road Worcester, there are a succession of multi-pulls to deal with a rush between the breaks in the Cricket. Villa have one in Ramseys - one! Can this be addressed?

    3. Why do the stewards also have this incessant need to get the shutters down prior to the start of the second half. This antagonises a lot of people, especially when they have waited 10 mins or more to get a beer, and then see that their opportunity to get one starting to fade.

I've asked this before, not sure whether this was on here or H&V. I know that there are more pressing things at hand, but I know that it cheeses off quite a few people, not only myself.

  7. General Krulak here:

    1. We are currently working on a "re-sale" scheme that will be legal and beneficial to all concerned.

    2. Ticket issue with phones: Because we did not want Liverpool fans sitting "around the stadium", we did not put any on ticketmaster or any other general sale capability. All sales had to come thru Villa Ticketing folks. For the first time in a LOOOONG time, our stadium will be filled with our fans....and Liverpool fans will be "relegated" to a specific section in the park

General, that's great news. Unfortunately, due to the nature of their fans and those of Manure, they tend to hunt down tickets that should be reserved for long standing Villa customers. TicketMaster would sell to anyone.

  8. Not really into the new music scene these days, too much rubbish that sounds all the same, but I've "aquired" their Album and I'm quietly impressed.

  9. General, I have never posted on this thread before so let me begin by saying how grateful I am to you for taking the time to communicate with the fans & thanks to Randy for all that has been done so far.

Now to my question: Is there any chance of season ticket holders who renew for this season getting a free ticket for the Inter friendly?

This was first mentioned by IanRobo on the main message board, it seems like a good idea and a little 'compensation' for the cut price tickets sold last year.

As a ST holder, I would have thought that it wold be better to keep the seats cheap for all, to cover the costs of stewarding etc/ May encourage the more fair weather fans to come more often if there is a larger crowd and good atmosphere.

General, do you know when these tickets wil be available?

  10. General Krulak here:

    1. I will check on Pro Evolution Soccer...I can tell you that my 6 year old grandson plays a game that has the Villa as one of the teams....along with rest of Premiership. He regularly whips up on ManU.

General, I think that the new version will have all the English Teams licensed, but would be great to know for certain.

  11. I do not rate Barton and am yet to be convinced that he is any better than Hendrie is either now or when the prange one was Bartons age

Well when city stuffed us at Villa Park this year he was their best player and bossed midfield.

Well I actually dont agree with that to be honest, but there you go opinions opinions.

.. and IMO also was the best player on the pitch by a country mile that night.

  12. I do not rate Barton and am yet to be convinced that he is any better than Hendrie is either now or when the prange one was Bartons age

Gonna have to disagree with you there Rich, I think that Barton under the right Manager could become an awesome player, better than he is at Man City now. Whether MON wants to take a chance, only time will tell.

  13. I have not said anything about Kewell have I ?

people need to understand that what we might see are two/three big signings and some cheappies, just like the winter, that is the template.

I back MON on any signings even Bellamy maybe !!!

You just mentioned him in your supposed midfield line-up

People need to understand, or is that the Robo enforced VT opnion?

We all back MON and I trust too that he knows what he is doing the most important thing, is what he considers a competitive squad, and I hope that it is Kewell-less.

  14. Don't knock this Kewell thing, just think about it.

Come December when injuries and suspensions take effect,

we will have (prob) Barry, Berger, Maloney, Davis (hopefully), Young, Petrov, prob another - prob Reo Coker - if any of those are injured Kewell is not a bad 8th choice

midfielder !!! - bit better on the bench than Whittingham and Osbourne (although give it two years and he may come through).

A midfield of Barry, Petrov , Reo Coker, Young - with maloney , Kewell, Davis, Berger as back up don't look a bad midfield to me... we are not gonna get Joe Cole, Gerrard and Essien so face up to it (and all that doesn't include Bellamy who I reckon is earmarked for what I would call - The Tommy Johnson role !!)

just about spot on, some people o here after years of Ellisian thinking don't get the idea of a competitive squad.

Berger is a perfect example of this

    You really are obsessed.

We all know what a competitive squad is, but there are some of us think that Kewell is a bag of tosswank.
