Fingers crossed they can knobble Cardiff tomorrow night.

If, and it's a big if, cardiff win both games this week and we are still four points behind them:

8 games left, were they need to drop points in four games, as we also will drop a few points. Out of those games Cardiff have home games vs Burton, Forest and Reading. Thats five games left were they play top teams, but Cardiff are a top team too... Come on Brentford and Derby, fight for your play off places.

  2. Cardiff have top four spot since the start of the season, only 3 rounds were we in front of them. Fulham have been below us for all but five rounds. Fulham were as low as 17 after 17 games. Might put a bit more pressure on Cardiff, been top two for most of the time.

The run-in predicted. Not sure my heart could take that.

Think you have us more or less spot on. Bit optimistic for wolves and Fulham not to lose a game for the rest of the season. But you have draw in one of three for Fulham, so they might get 90 points or more if the win one more, even if they lose one or two.

But the frightening bit is that Cardiff are on the same number of points as us, and that include a win for us vs them, and only one win in seven games for a team that have won six in a row.

The form guide over the last 10 would actually have Fulham and Villa in automatic promotion places come season end.

    Provided that Villa beat Cardiff.

I highly doubt that will happen, but I'm just saying if things continue as they are results wise, that's what will happen.

The form guide is fantastic for all 3 teams, who is in the best form depend on how many games you use. Fulham have the best results for me, they have won vs the best teams.

If you take the last six games, Cardiff ends on 103 points (maximum points for them). We ends a point behind Wolves and Fulham, all around 92-93 points.

Wolves will do better than that for sure. They have played away to us and Fulham. Think they felt a bit safe too, some games ago.

if we ends on 91-93 points, Cardiff have to drop points in four games or more. Lose only 3 and they finish on 94 points. This week its two must win games for us.  Cardif have to give away points too, if not they can't win more than half of the last 8 games.

Really ? Fulham are 5 behind Cardiff  not 11 behind .

If Cardiff lose to brentford away and derby away fulham will be 2 points behind them next weekend with both having 8 to play - and Cardiff having wolves and villa to come - I don’t see Cardiff taking more than 15 points from the last 10 .

‘I’m well aware of who plays who and see villa and Fulham battling it out for 2nd and 3rd - I really think we will be 2nd next weekend going into 2 week break .

5 points behind, with one game more played. Cardiff have to lose 8 points (those 3 games you first listed, us, wolves and brentford) for Fulham to finish above them.

In your las post you think they lose for Derby too, and that Cardiff only takes 15 points from 10 games. If so I agree with you.

Cardiff have a far worse run in than Fulham - I’d fancy brentford wolves and villa to all beat Cardiff .

Could see villa and Fulham going unbeaten in the last 10 games of the season - I simply cannot see Cardiff doing so.

Therfore for me fulham are the bigger worry to me - but each to their own .

Even if Cardiff lose all those games Fulham have to win nine out of nine to finish above them.

Fulham are a bigger threat than Cardiff for me ,

Fulham are the better team. But we are four points behind Cardiff, to beat them we need to win a lot of games, and Cardiff must drop points. To beat Fulham we "only" have to win our own games.

Good form for Cardiff, 2 points pr game, and they end on 93 points. Thats 6 wins, draw 2 and lose 2. They have  5 "difficult" games left, including Brentford away. This can be done for Cardiff.

To beat 93 points Fulham have to win the rest of their games. One draw and they finish on 93 points. Can be done, but what a run they would need.

for us to finish on 93 points we need 24 points. 8 wins or 7 wins and draw 3. I guess we ends around 91 points, 6 wins, lose one and draw 3. If so Fulham will still struggle to beat us, but Cardiff are the bigger threat.

I was stood at the bar in The OC's after the game in my Villa top when a bloke next to me said "Great result for Cardiff today" I was a bit confused and didn't really know what to say so I just agreed it was a good result at which point the twurp declared he was a Bluenose.

They genuinely genuinely would prefer to lose and be relegated themselves if it somehow causes us problems.

I do understand them. When we did bad, blues lose was the only good results.

Now I still want them to lose, but prefer that they help us. For mee they can win every game for the rest of the season as they play both wolves and Fulham.

I don't understand the criticism he gets. He is a poacher in the same mould as Darren Bent or Ole-Gunnar Solskjär in his time.

No he is not. Bent did it several seasons in the pl. Solsjær in the pl and cl. Hogan did it for half a season for Brentford in the championship. Hogan has five goals? for us this season, one of the best teams. Solskjær scored that many in one game, as a sub.

Funny that we're the exact antithesis of bloosers right now. We're third from the top, they're third from the bottom. We have the second highest goal difference, they have the second worse. We're going up, they're going down. We smell fresh n clean, they're shit...

Yes its a great time for us. Still, a big chance that we are both in the championship next season

Can they go to boro and win? Can they beat cardiff? I think they will drop points there. As long as we continuing winning we can close the gap.

Ensure we don't do a villa and mess it up against QPR

They can lose vs cardiff and boro, and still stay above us, the gap is seven points. Hopefully wolves now do their best against cardiff. We need Cardiff to lose a game or two before we play them.

Cardiff got some hard games now, away at Brentford, Derby, SheffU and us. Home vs Wolves.

We and Fulham plays the same five teams, also the same teams home/away. If we can take the same number of points as them in those five games we should finish above them. (Fulham have only four other games, we have five)

  12. Great win, but Wolves will still finish above us. They play five of the bottom six teams in their last ten games. In the last 42 games between them, they have 3 wins. All 3 wins against teams in the bottom 5.

  13. Fulham had a bad run before xmas, good for us as they are a good side. Before the season started the top championship blog in Norway had them top of the table. Wolves third, us 6th, behind Sheffield....wednesday!

Wolves still in the mix, keeps them sharp for the game vs Cardiff.

  15. In the last 30 games between us, Villa, fulham and cardiff have lost only one game (us at Fulham) and five draws. We had 3 wins before those last ten games too. All 3 clubs must be frustrated by the other teams form.

This league is totallly crazy isn’t it!? It’s very entertaining even if the football isn’t quite PL standard.

I am suprised by the standard in the top of the Championship. We don't have the top players like Aguero, Sane and Pogba, but only the top 6-7 teams in the Pl have them. Bristol City vs both the Manchester teams, Derby vs ManU, Wolves vs ManC and others too have good results. The Championship is more fun too!

I'd definitely take a draw right now but we have got enough to beat them. I've seen plenty of fans saying Grealish wouldn't get in their 18. Let's hope the Wolves player underestimate Grealish in the same way.

A draw is a good result vs a team more than good enough for the top half of the PL. But a Cardiff win vs b'ham, and we are 6 points behind.

I take a loss now, if Fulham and Cardiff take no points either.

  19. People say 90 points will get us promoted, and almost every season 90 points are enough. If so:

Wolves are in the PL next season. They are ten points above third placed team, us. Might end as number 2. A good team, no reason for them not to get 14 points from the last 11 games, or from ten games if we beat them saturday. 98% chance of getting 90 points.

Cardiff, needs 20 points from 11 games. Have 2 points pr game so far, could end on 92 points if this form continue. If they beat B'ham saturday its only 17 points from 10 games. Favorites for the 2nd place, and get 90 points. 60% chance.

Villa: need 24 points from 11 games. If we beat wolves, its 21 points from 10, and I think we could make it. But if we need 24 points from 10 after the wolves game, it is mostly a slim hope. 7 points after cardiff saturday if results goes against us. Even if we make 90 points it might not be enough..35% ( 55% saturday, if we win over wolves)

Fulham: need 25 points from 10 games. 8 wins, one draw and only one game lost. Even harder than for us if we lose vs wolves. Can be done in the form they are in, but then they would have a fantastic run this year. They could go above us, but hard for them getting above Cardiff, as that would take a great run for Fulham and a bad run for Cardiff. 25%

Derby needs 29 points from a maximun of 30 points..
