  1. a) If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.

    b) If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League (or top six if (a) happens), their UECL playoff place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.

How does winning UCL/UEL affect qualification?

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's competition regardless of their league finishing position.

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their league finishing position.

A maximum of five Premier League teams are eligible for UEFA Champions League qualification.

In the event that a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League and another win the UEFA Europa League and neither of these clubs finish in the top four of the Premier League, the club lying fourth in the table will drop into the UEFA Europa League group stage.

You currently can’t have more than 4 teams in the Champions League. If Arsenal won it the 4th placed team in the Premier League would lose their spot.

Didn’t that happen to Spurs one year?

Only way 4th place lose their CL spot are if Arsenal win the europa league and Chelsea win CL, but Chelsea don´t end in the top four in the PL.

Five teams in the CL are the most from one league.

Does anyone have any idea what TV money is awarded per place finished in the league? Or a rough estimate?

    £3,2m or £2,7m because of covid-19.

  4. Very close to finalizing the arrival of Milik, OM could register the departure of Morgan Sanson. A transfer to England to finance the arrival of his new striker. For almost three weeks now, OM have been actively discussing with a Premier League club. On December 26, le10sport.com revealed that an English team had indeed drawn an offer for Morgan Sanson, without lifting the veil on the identity of the club. Followed by Newcastle, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton, Sanson has been reflecting since the end of the year to decide on his future. Less than 20 million euros According to our sources, Morgan Sanson's situation is becoming a little more clear. Aston Villa has accelerated in recent hours and discussions are now at a very advanced stage. OM and England are negotiating a dry transfer. An amount of between 15 and 20 million euros is reportedly under study, far from the sums claimed by Jacques-Henri Eyraud in recent months ... But a case that could allow OM to finance the arrears.

I see mild speculation about sivert mannsverk, an 18yr old Norwegian central midfielder from Sogndal

Any of our Scandi based VTers know much about him?

Clearly one for the future but I like our recent thoughts on the recruiting for youth set up

Player of the season in the division. only 18 years old. Captan when 17. MOM in the play off final, but his Club lost it in the the last seconds. Calm midfielder. His manager is Eirik Bakke (played for us on loan from Leeds). Other known player from Sogndal  are Tore Andre Flo (Chelsea).
He says that he only leave for first team football.

  6. If we win two and draw one game out of 3 for the rest of the season, 2,33 ppg, (1 lost game in there) we ends on 88 points. A fantastic end of the season is needed😃 Still almost every season that is not enough for top 2🙁. Even if we win the next five games, we need more than 2 ppg for the last 20 games to end on 88 points.

  7. Form last 10 games, top 9:

    Norwich 25 points

    Leeds      20

    SheffU     15

    Derby      20

    WBA        15

    M'boro     14

    Nott F     18

    Villa        17

    Birmingham 19

To finish top 2, we need more than 2 points pr game. 60 points from the next 25 games give us 92 points. Norwich and Leeds are set for 92 points IF they finish the season as they started.

92 points for us are  18 wins, draw 6 and only lose 1. Or, for every four games from now we win 3 and 1 draw.

  8. Not a formation I like, but we don't have in form wingers, and Brentford always outplay us in midfield. if both Grealish and Hourihane plays  I want Hourihane behind the striker.

                            Nyland

    Elmo     Chester      Tunazebe   Hutton

                      Jedinak  Bjarni

                 Grealish.        McGinn

                           Hourihane

                             Kodjia

My wish list, incoming loan, option to buy.

    RW: Maddison, Peterborough.

    DM: Woods, Brentford.

both are kept out of the first XI.

Striker: Fernando Forestieri, SheffieldW, if they need cash. or Abraham, Chelsea

LB: Targett, Southampton or Cresswell, West Ham

    CD: Gary Cahill, Chelsea

Maddison stayed on the bench yesterday.

woods on the bench for Brentford today. (Starts vs us on wedensday?)

Forestieri starts for Sheffield W today. Abraham out of the squad agianst Arsenal yesterday.

Targett and Cresswell both on the bench yesterday.

    Cahill not in Chelsea's squad.

Forestieri and Cresswell I think will stay at their clubs.

Comparing our results this season with last we drew at Hull last season and won there this time so that left us up two points. We won at home to all of the relegated clubs and did the same against one of the teams that replaced them (Wigan) last weekend. Today we lost the two points we had gained having drawn at Ipswich where we had won last year. For me we are now pretty much where we were last season. A win against Brentford (it's high time we beat them) would put us two points up on last season again. :)

Last seaon we won all the six games against the relegated clubs. We won at home to all the promoted teams too. But lost away.

27 points vs teams not in the Championship this seaon. I don't think it's realistic to get that many points this season. If the target is to do better, or the same as last season, we have to do better against the teams we played.

Regarding players not being good enough mate; aren't most of them Bruce's players? Keepers, Axel, Elmo, Jedinak, Thor, Hourihane, McGinn, Adomah, are his signings, right? That goes without other players left out that he's signed.

Jedinak and Adomah signed under RDM. Bruce have signed the others you named, plus Lansbury, Bree, Hogan and Taylor. Thats one first team player, McGinn.  4 transfer windows, and thats all. Don't let this man spend more of our money.
