  1. 6 defeats in a row, lacking mental bottle, and decision making across the board, confidence low, key players injured and suspended, playing better and more confident teams next. Rather fear we may continue to garner further unwanted records.

yeah, there's not much flying in our direction atm. I fear we're going to lose to West Ham next weekend. Especially considering they're on form and we're nowhere near a form at all.

  2. hard to be optimistic when we're 6 on the bounce without a win and only 1 goal. we'll see how it goes. I don't think we'll go down but I think we'll continue to struggle. also I see way too many of the same patterns from last season and the one before that to suggest that anything better is on the horizon.

  3.

If we don't bring in quality reinforcements in January, I fear the worst.

The important thing is getting to January and still being outside the bottom 3, were in a horrific run of form yet still outside the bottom 3.

Burnley will do well to get to 25 points, I'm not convinced qpr will do much better, even after their win over us, they were largely gash in that game, Leicester, palace, Sunderland are probably on par with us.

yeah I don't think we'll go down this year, but it could be close. that is staggering considering we've had 3 years to improve at least something. I say the sauce needs a different ingredient, because the (Camem)lambert isn't doing us any good atm.

  4. That contract extension look so stupid now. Can we even afford sacking him? I don't think so

hahaha yes, albeit he has admitted that he's not in a secure spot because of it. financially though I say he's most likely in a better spot should the hammer finally fall.

  5. My wife's been at me to fluff up the cushions on the couch for a few weeks. She complains she doesn't have the strength. You really need to beat the hell out of these things because they're massive and they go really solid when they've been flattened down.

    They're f&*cking fluffed now.

  6.

Whilst the Benteke sending off affected our game massively we can't be excused for putting ten men behind the ball for last 20 minutes. If we had continued pressing (which Benteke doesn't do anyway) we could've got something from that.

No manager should have 6 straight defeats on his cv and stay in a job.

I was only wondering earlier if any manager in the prem has ever gone 6 games losing and only one goal scored and kept their job

    Alan Pardew? probably not though..

While it is looking desperate at the moment, I still believe we can get a winning run going with those fixtures. Keep the faith. UTV.

Sorry but the last 2 1/2 years of utter dross have beaten any faith I had in this clown out of me.

On the condition that we perform as we did today, I think we can turn it around and build some momentum again. I am taking a huge leap of faith, but I was happy how we acquitted ourselves today and I am more positive about the future.

in all honesty, yes we did perform a lot better today. however I also believe that Benteke contributed a lot to that and he won't be around for 3 games. we definitely need more composure in the team. you can effectively see the tension from miles away.

Supporting Aston Villa is just a waste of life. I want to cry with despair. I was on the brink after that game today. We are just so so shit and nothingy it's just too much

well you know what they say (they being people and stuff), it's how you cope with your struggles that defines you. ^^

I'm going to burst into tears and throw my feces at the wall

    sounds like a reasonable reaction.

  9. what is the point of a short term boost. Until we have investment properly and a decent owner, it makes no difference, if we're arsing about in 10th or 17th. I mean honestly, who cares? Both results are a product of a tremendously dull season. We'll stay up with Lambert. There's no point changing manager until we've got a structure in place that can aim for something worthwhile. Aiming for 10th? Whoopdy do. Who gives a shit? I'm sure Pulis or whoever could get us that this season. But then what? The football we derided him for at stoke would just piss us off once more.

There is no point to anything unless there's dramatic change.

Yes there is. I understand that the long-term looks dull (it really does) at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to improve in the short-term. under Lambert we are treading the same waters and I think that it's down to a lack of ideas in the club. I also understand that we are under financial constraint, but then we should be a least looking to do the best under those constraints.

  11. I wonder what the polls of the players would say about the man in charge. We definitely need a new injection of ideas because it is a poisonous state of affairs at the minute and I believe you only get a set amount of chances to prove yourself right or wrong before you lose the trust factor.

  12.

I don't get why no villa player was contesting where spurs were taking that free from. Someone should have been in their face trying to get it moved to the correct position.

I thought that! It was maybe 6 or 7 yards further back, giving them more space to get it up and down.

Mentioned that in the match thread. Pissed me off.

yeah that was very poor of the squad. at the same time, it's also up to the ref to point out were it should be and it was way off.

  13.

Mason basically did what Pardew did a while back and apparently that was outrageous.

    I definitely wouldn't wainy!

I think it's human instinct to raise a hand when attacked like that. He pulled out as soon as he had a second to think.
    Attacked is a strong word.

Very often I'm put into situations at work where I'm potentially under threat. Ive never once raised my hand. In fact I'd argue that it's human nature not to raise your hand if I was basing my opinion just on me. Others are different tho of course.

At work people charge you in the back then when you turn shove their heads into your face? You need a pay rise.

Well I can't say that particular incident has ever happened but I've been repeatedly punched in the head at work.

You can defend yourself without touching the other person. Turn round walk away. In fact, don't square up in the first place. Don't lash out at lamela. Avoid the situation altogether.

agreed. he should have handled that situation a lot better. heat of the moment though and right after that Verthongen tackle. you could tell a lot of our players were very angry with how the ref handled that situation.

  14. While it is looking desperate at the moment, I still believe we can get a winning run going with those fixtures. Keep the faith. UTV.

Come matchday I'll still probably be at least slightly optimistic. however, this situation we're in right now is an extremely tough one and considering how we've been playing and how we won't have access to the gifted talents of Benteke for three of those.... well it's hard-pressed to be optimistic.

  15.

He's pretty much got everything right in the last couple of games and been let down by individual errors. When the luck deserts you and you weren't in a great position to start with, then things get tough quick. I worry for him if we lose the next two, even in our rather odd situation.

What's 'odd' about our situation? Loads of shite defeats and 15th-16th place is normal for us isn't it?

No, no, not that bit - the bit where no one wants to own us.

yeah, we're in a very tough spot atm because of this.

  16. can't wait to have Libor back, but at the current rate it looks to be a while before he even makes it to the bench...mark. it'll be interesting to see how he's coming along, but I wouldn't bet my mortgage on him being back anytime soon. he would probably need time adjusting to the team once in good shape too. I'm done...
