  1. I thought he played with quite a bit of enthousiasm. Maybe it's still like a league-one player getting a chance in the PL, but I thought he has improved a bit since his first appearance.

OK, his shooting is dire, especially since it was supposed to be one of his strengths when he signed, but he's at least trying to run at defenders and pushing the team forward. In Delph's absence, we need players like this.

he still has to improve a lot, but by the end of the season he could be an established PL player.

  2. Vossen would be a good addition to the squad, but I don't think he's a Lambert kind of player.

He plays best in a 4-4-2 where he's the second striker. that's why he did well with Benteke. But this also means he can never be a replacement to Benteke.

As said by others, we need a creative midfielder more than a striker. Helenius is already looking like the one too many as he barely plays, not to mention Bowery.

  3. a point away is good, as we are not a CL-spot contender.

But the way we played was awful, there was no decent passing, no ideas, no threat.

KEA is actually good for games where you want to strengthen your defence and nothing else.

This shows Lamberts ambition for this game, play for a draw.

5 defenders? then play midfielders who want to go forward or you'll isolate your attackers. That doesn't seem to be rocket science to me.

  4. He needs to be put on the bench for a few games and given a rest. For such a young player he has played the majority of games since the middle of the 11/12 season and he just looks worn out. Especially considering his work rate in matches.

I agree, i think he could benefit from a few games on the sidelines. he's the kind of guy who would work his socks off to get back in, and right now he needs to work a quite a few aspects of his game.

  5. Get feeling Albrighton in PL view isn't worth keeping as he on quite a high wage after getting a new contract when we where still handing out stupid money.

I know in last 18 month's he hasn't been great but he was the one bright spot in the league cup loss and is a wide player.Last year of contract I think so doubt he play for us again.

I think he could still grow into a decent premier league player. He just doesn't fit in lambert's tactics, where our wingers (gabby and weimann) cut inside rather than go down the line. He did show he's capable of Some good performances in pre-season and against Spurs.

I would hate to see him go, but I don't think he has a future here.

  6. Let's not all hail the tactics used today. I'm thrilled with the 3 points, but it could very easily have gone the other way.

Also, I feel he couild have made Some changes in the last 10 mini's to take the pace out of city's game.

Oh Well, 3 points in the bag is all that matters

  7. Stunned Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, pictured above applauding his side's travelling fans at the final whistle, tries to explain how they lost against Aston Villa after taking the lead twice.

"If we played that game 10 times, we would win nine of them," Kompany said. "It was a very unlucky result and a very unlucky day. Villa had three chances and scored three goals and that was it. The first goal was offside and we did not get the decision - but every time we made a mistake, we conceded."

    what a sore loser!!!!!!

he's not far from the truth though, is he. How many changes did we have?
  8. I still think he can be the creative midfielder people keep asking about. If not, he's a good player to have on the bench as he can decide or open up a game with one action.

A team is only as strong as its bench, so I don't mind having him on there.
