  1. Given 60K

    Warnock 40K

    Hutton 35k

    Richard Dunne 50K

    Stephen Ireland 70K

    Charles N'Zogbia 60K

    Jean II Makoun 35K

    Bent 90K

    Agbonlahor 60K

Fixed some that were slightly out.

    £24m a year. Ridiculous.

So far this season these players have cost us circa £10m and have made a combined 45 Premier League appearances

  2. I know it's likely bollocks but it should get the conversation moving again... over the last hour @Villa_Source has linked:

Us with a move for Stefan Reinartz (Leverkusen) - Calls him a CB/DM, which technically he is, but according to WhoScored.com all 18 of his appearances this season have been made in midfield. Where he has averaged 3 tackles per game, 3.7 interceptions per game, 2.6 clearances per game. Very good stats, but is he really going to want to leave 2nd placed Leverkusen for us? I still think (similar statted) William Kvist would be more likely from Stuttgart if we're targeting Bundesliga DM's.

Us with a loan move for Scott Parker- but says AVB is only interested in a 'cash deal'. Why we would target Reinartz and Parker I dont know, but I'll take either. Can't see Scotty coming here, a move back to West Ham would surely be more likely with them going all out to sign as many high-wage players as possible.

Us with Alfred Finnbogason, James Henry, Dale Stephens, Kelvin Leerdam - calling these his 'targets' going into the window.

QPR with Bent - Saying they have enquired about him but have yet to put in an offer and that we are willing to listen.

Ruled out us getting Hangeland - Obvious, we would never have gotten him anyway.

  3. We just so desperately need 4 quality players in. Im just worried it isnt going to happen, im not convinced on this Leerdam as our number 1 DM, i want somebody with experience, whose playing well in a top 5 league who can slot straight in. By all means I've been pleasantly surprised by Lowton and Benteke - hopefully Leerdam could do the same but im not convinced. I knew Westwood would be our best midfielder and he's living up to that.

I really want Kvist from Stuttgart, he'd slot straight in, we have a good history with Scandinavian players and think

    ------------Kvist

    ---Westwood-Stephens

Is a good base for us to build from with a more flair player infront of them.

  4. I would just like to say, for the benefit of those who think that nobody would touch Bent at a price close to what we paid for him just because he is 28, that Robin van Persie is 29 and he went for well over £20m.

So folks, age is not the barrier here, mindset and having the balls to ask for the right price is.

Darren Bent is not Robin Van Persie.

  5. We overpaid, unless Bent came here and turned out to be Falcao we were never going to get our money back. Yes he's got a good record but we cant afford to keep him, we're desperate to sell, he's our highest paid player and struggles to make the bench, so he's clearly going to be unhappy and we desperately need the funds to spend on new players.

All those things are not exactly going to push his price up. Think he'll go for £10m unless teams start panic-buying and we get a bidding war on our hands.

  6. I still think they will turn it around when Cabaye and Ben Arfa return, they have a quality team and they could easily have gotten a equaliser yesterday. With Debuchy and (possibly) Remy still to join this window they simply cannot get relegated once those injured return. I would **** love it if they did though.

I will love it if Newcastle go down. They still bang on about the **** 'Whose your next Messiah' banner as if they are gods gift to football, all the while forgetting how they lampooned Laursen's retirement speech. words removed.

  7. Lambert sign Aubeyamang up! He's a great player plus he actually wants to come here which more than likely means he's willing to put in a shift for us as he'll be playing for a club he wants to be at. Get it done!

Talksport saying he wants to come here does not = him actually wanting to come here. It may be true that he wants to come here but I'm not buying it when Talksport start the rumour.

  8. Trust me Lerner was told in no uncertain terms

that watching Villa struggle for the 3rd year running cos we're playing reserves + Benteke & a few others is simply unacceptable by someone close to the club.

Ian Taylor got it spot on and tweeted after the game We have NO SPINE & that is exactly what Lerner was told.

If your on about who I think your on about, I cant see Lerner paying much attention to him to be honest. He'd be right in what he said but he's still just a fan.

  9. Given 60k

    Dunne 55k

    Warnock 40k

    Hutton 35k

    Ireland 70k

    NZogbia 60k

    Bent 90-100k (Yes. It is.)

    This is why.

The journo's at the end of last season said Lerner wants us to have an average First 11 weekly wage of 36k (I believe, somewhere between 35-40k anyway). So, currently Ireland is taking up 2 players, as is Given and NZogbia and Bent almost 3 players worth of wages. Obviously it wont all equate to that but essentially that is how Randy is looking at it. We are paying these players 2-3 times as much as Randy wants to give starting 11 players.

  10. In the season before he moved to us NZogbia scored from more Freekicks than any other player in the league if i remember correctly. Useless stat for you all. I believe he scored 3.

  11. They also have to want to come to us. I believe Wanyama has already turned us down once so he could join Celtic? Why would he want to come to us now?

Yeah he went to Celtic to win trophies (whether the trophies up there are worth anything or not seems to have not crossed his mind), whilst he would have an opportunity to potentially win the (least desired) cup in England with us, he has so far played (and beaten) Barcelona with Celtic and was one of their standouts, a trip to Juventus up for him next, cant see him wanting to leave just yet.

  12. McDonald Mariga would be a good solid signing. Failing that, Wanyama as people have already mentioned. I mean with PL being ex-Celtic and a fan he must watch them a lot, Wanyama fits both what we need and what we are looking for. Those two wouldn't break the bank and would instantly improve us. I'm guessing 5m for Wanyama and Mariga being frozen out my Milan is apparently available for 6m.

Sure this was the plan under Houllier, or atleast what some hoped for at the time, sign Mariga from Inter and then bring his younger brother (Wanyama) in to develop under him
