  1. Dunno - if Lerner took him to one side - and said resign now and you get £2.5m - would Mcleish take it ? ..I think he probably would.

    Ermmm...

McClunge is Scottish, he would not take a penny less than he is entitled too..

Some dark days ahead, because I believe that he is here for the long term, no matter how bad it gets...

  2. Our next four games after man city are really important, wigan blackburn fulham and Bolton, if man city give us a real thumping I really can't see us getting much from these games, the belief in the team seems to be none exitent, best we can do is rob the three points at one game and scrap some draws, unlike 3 years ago we would be seriously looking to go to theses and beating them. If we don't get nothing from these games then we are in trouble, arsenal Chelsea Liverpool stoke and man u, even stoke in there, MON has gone a great job there, but that's no surprise to me, and every villa fan deep down knows this, we would be in trouble

I take it you mean Sunderland?

  3. Wigan and Blackburn away in a few weeks will be a big test. But I'm confident we can get 6 points.

    Absolutely crucial games...

People talk about 6 pointers well for Wigan, Blackburn and Villa this will be the case.

We seem to be struggling against the lower placed sides and the ones we EXPECT to beat (QPR, Swansea, WBA, etc)

I am apprehensive about the drop, but as already mentioned, thank God there are about 5 teams that are a lot worse than us, however, it is down to who has the fight in them.

Villa, at the moment, have NO fight.

  4. To be honest,

I was a big fan of MON, despite the players he bought, the wages he paid, blah, blah, blah. It was still MON that gave us some of the best football we have seen for a good few years at Villa Park.

In answer to the topic question, my answer would be a resounding NO, I am NOT a happy Villa fan at the moment..

I suppose I really should have gotten over MON by now, but I always think what could have been, if the club had done things (financially) different with him.

We tried though. We offered him the option of transfer funds once he had sorted out his massive wage bill. But he had a strop and gave up. We weren't going to be an unlimited supply of money for him, there has to be a line in the sand somewhere. But I do think if we stood firm on the Milner sale and said no MON might have stayed.

You are right and I know that MON threw a strop, but despite all this, the club should have tried harder to keep MON, if that meant us saying no to the Milner deal, which we probably should have done, then so be it.

I dont care how much people slate MON, he was still the best thing to happen to the club in the past 15-20 years.

How on Earth could they have done that when by the looks of things he wasn't prepared to bring the wage bill down?

    Speculate to accumulate?
