  1. A Birmingham school teacher asks her class, "What football team do you support? Raise your hand if you support Birmingham City?. The whole class raise their hands except for one boy. "John? what team do you support? "Aston Villa", the boy replied. "Why?" asks the teacher. "Because my mom and dad do, so I do too". "Well you don't have to copy your mom and dad, what if your mom was a prostitute and your dad was a junkie?" inquired the teacher. "Well Miss", John replied, "Then I'd be a blue nose like the rest of you inbreds"

Sorry, just wanted cheering up with all this negative doom and gloom regarding who our next manager could be!!

  2. It really wouldn't suprise me if Grayson got the job...

Me neither. It would be a little on the underwhelming side.

I really can't see us employing or even getting close to unveiling a top class manager as our new manager.

Negative, I know, but I really think that our ceiling for employee's is getting aimed at managers that want to make the step 'up' (Grayson, Poyet, OGS, Lambert, KM, Rodgers, Di Canio) rather than proven successful managers that would be willing to make a step that could tarnish their past successes (RDM, Ranieri, AVB, Bilic, Rafa)

  3. I'm quite happy for either PL or OGS to be appointed, I'm confident both would take us forward as a club. My only concern would be that this is probably the only time Solskjær will be available to us and yes he is the bigger risk, but should we not take a chance on him we may look back on it as an opportunity missed.

    Total agreement with this ^

We really could miss and opportunity, despite it being a risk, I think it would be a worthy one.

  4. Surely the managers that are in the running will have it in the back of their mind just how vicious us Villa fans can be?

Would any of them, (esp Mick McCarthy) be stupid enough to volunteer themselves to go through the hatred that was directed at AM?

It would certainly put me off the job if my footballing management career wasn't too good or I was already an unpopular choice for the fans.

  5. i think ALL interviews for the Villa Manager job should be done on the half way line at Villa Park in front of 30k + fans.

Just like the days of gladiator, fans vote with a thumbs up, thumbs down approach.

Randy Lerner then stands up to rapturous applause and delivers his approval/disapproval.

Failing managers then get wrapped in bubble wrap, have their heads cut off and stuck on a stick, which is planted on the centre circle to remind the next candidate of just how big a job this is and how demanding us fans are.

  6. You know what?

All these names being banded about really mean nothing to me...

I know I might get slated for this, but I just want a manager, (regardless of where he has been before, what he has/hasn't achieved or what is name is) who will progress the club.

I am not after overnight success or top class players (just yet). I am after someone that can get the players playing football again, someone that can consolidate our club and someone that the fans can relate to.

We are in the unfortunate position, I feel, of having to 'start from scratch' again and this feels like the days when DOL was sacked. Ok we got a very good manager (at the time) in the shape of MON.

I want someone to come in that 'cares' about the club, 'cares' about the fans and who is not just after another payday.

  7. I am hpoing we get at least a point against Spurs. McLeish will be aiming for that to, meaning he will **** it up immensely and we will lose 3-0.

    So true mate,

Isn't it horrible though that us fans are actually hoping we get a point (at home) to a team low in the form table (Spuds).

This is a game that a year or so ago, we would be quite easily looking to grab 3 points as a given...

    It is all AM's fault!!

    I'm sorry but what?!

Maybe not last year but pretty much every year before that. And hopefully soon again.

Err it seems the red mist of hatred towards AM sometimes turns our sunglasses into a healthy shade of rose. We have only beaten the spuds twice (2007/2008 home game, 2008/2009 away) in 12 games. Spuds have won 5 of those....

I would still have said that, despite your stats above, that we would go into a game against Spurs, at home, playing for and confident that we could get 3 points out of it and that the game was winnable..

Nowadays, that is not the case..

  8. I can't beleive how gullable people are on here. I spot a post which is assuming McCleish has either been sacked or will be very shortly. So I have a look back to see where this has come from, and it turns out some idiot imposter on Twitter has been spouting some rubbish and 50% of you believe it and start talking like it's fact. I know people are desperate but, come on, really.

I think i mentioned it earlier in this thread.

There is so much in the way of false information/rumours that come out of our fans in various forms that it is often extremely hard to filter out what is true and what is make-believe.

Even more frustrating is the fact that the club itself is extremely slow to release most information (Not just about AM) to any of us fans, this in turn makes people 'clutch at straws'
