  1. Who are Kompany and Nasri?

You tube has just answered my question for me. Nasri reminds me of SWP, very fast with good close control. Kompany seem's like a Lucio, big strong defender that comes storming out with the ball when wins it.

Have we ever been linked with either one of these players or is it more wishful thinking?

extremely wishful thinking. From what i've seen of Nasri(youtube),he seems to love cutting in when dribbling a lot and can play on both wings. If he came, him and young could interchange positions throughout the game like Giggs and Ronaldo do for manure.

  2. Boruc

de Jong - Kompany - Laursen - Bouma

    Young - Petrov - Sneijder - Barry

    Huntelaar - Carew

Subs: Sørensen - Mellberg - Gardner - Agbonlahor - Cahill

I guess I could steer that team to victory on FM....

Though I'd rather a new winger as well to be honest:

    -------------------Boruc

de Jong - Kompany - Laursen - Bouma

    Nasri - Sneijder - Barry - Young

    ---------Huntelaar - Carew

Now thats a fantastic team which could be challenging for top 4 slot.Provided noone gets injured for the whole season though. We could probly finish above Le Arse with that team! :D

  3. Boruc

    Young - Petrov - Sneijder - Barry

    Huntelaar - Carew

Subs: Sørensen - Mellberg - Gardner - Agbonlahor - Cahill

If this was FM,i'd swap de Jong for Ratinho and Boruc for Ustari.Seriously though, that team would break the top 6 .I'd be over the moon if that's gonna be our squad for next season.Except i'm not convinced Petrov can play as a DM and if we don't play with an out and out DM,I can imagine Sneijder just shunning his defensive responsibilities.

  4. so it looks like we're definitely getting a new keeper and it'll either be boruc or gordon.

What makes you say this? There has been nothing more solid on these rumours than any other, has there?

well its because we are getting linked with boruc and gordon which proves that we are searching for a new keeper

    It proves nothing.

Links like this prove only one thing, that sports journlists still have to sell newspapers even when there are no matches to comment on.

Don't you think some links might have a little truth in them? Not all links are made up although a lot of them are bullshit. So do you think we'll have a new keeper come next season?because i sure do.

  5. Is it just me or is anyone else thinking MO'N will probably pull a couple of names out the bag that no-one has mentioned?

Yeah, there might be one or two from the Defoe-NRC-Bellamy-Boruc etc pool of players that we're constantly being linked with, but I can't help but feel there might be a couple of surprises, whether they be big names or not.

And no, I don't mean literally big names like Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink

i feel the same.I get the impression that he has some targets ready that will "blow us out of the water".

  6. Luis fabiano definitely fits the bill as "top class".This season he has been playing well.Sure he didn't perform for porto, but the league in brasil is different to the european leagues and it takes a while to adjust. The important thing is now he is doing well and is up for grabs if juande ramos leaves. The Premier League is more physical than the primera liga tho but he looked lively last night.

well its because we are getting linked with boruc and gordon which proves that we are searching for a new keeper and what MON wants he will get.I agree with you that this rumours aren't solid but usually they aren't anyway.

  8. Well it looks like the Fabiano rumours that were going around the other day might be true

Villa boss O'Neill ponders Fabiano bid

    tribalfooball.com - May 27, 2007

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is weighing up a move for Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano.

The Brazil international has been forced to play second fiddle to Fredi Kanoute this season and is considering his options ahead of the summer market.

O'Neill has had Fabiano watched in recent months and is considering the Brazilian as part of the Villa Park revolution.

    http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=41179

It was said that Mon was at a Seville game the other day so i guess he was there to watch Fabiano, i remember when he was making waves in Brazil and scoring an amazing amount of goals, he got his big chance at Porto but it never worked out for him there, then he moved to Seville and he seems to have done well, when i look at his record this season it's actually very impressive,

he's played 29 games and has scored 13 goals,

3 goals in 7 matches in the uefa cup

and 10 goals in 22 la liga matches

He's only 26 and can only improve, from what i've seen he's got nice skills and can finish very well, imo he's one of those players who could easliy come to the premiership and have a Berbatov or Mccarthy impact, the only thing is he's got a bit of a temper on him though so he has been sent off a few times but it's nothing Mon couldn't address imo,

i think he'd be an exciting signing and he could play alongside any of our forwards.

Problem is tribalfootball tends to make up bullshit.Would love Fabiano at villa and maybe a bid for his teammate dani alves also.

  9. we should raid sevilla of some of their best players.apparently Juande Ramos(Sevilla manager) wants to leave and is thinking of becoming the next man city manager. If he leaves i can't see them challenging for the title or doing well at all next season unless they recruit some big name manager.I wouldn't mind dani alves, luis fabiano, kanoute.

Totally agree Lazarus chin - don't forget Javi Naravarro, Poulson, and Jesus Navas. All welcome additions to our squad and would definately take us to that next level

watching Sevilla play now and I must say Javi Navarro is quality.Could do a good job as RB for us.

  10. According to F365,Norwich want Suttton. If he leaves, we will definitely need another "big" striker which can be Henrok Goitam that we are being linked with.

Henok Goitom. Swedish wizzkid that has worked in the shadow from Zlatan, but is a very high skilled attacker/winger. He is not that big so to take him on board covering for Sutton doesnt make sense...

Riquelme is quite gettable...he is to return to his club in Spain because Boca Juniors cant afford his salary and therefor not interested in making his loan into a permanent deal. He will change club soon...hope it is Villa.

In wikipedia Goitam is listed as 6ft5in.I would think that is pretty big.Looks huge sized on youtube as well.Would love Riquelme but can't see it happening.

  12. For statos Joey Barton has scored more goals/min, got more assists and interestingly a hell of a lot of crosses for a central midfield player.

Forget the previous incidents - they can be controlled.

He would take us to the next level and would cost 5 million.

If we bought NRC for 8 million I think I'd be very concerned.

tbh i don't mind either one of Barton or NRC.barton is talented and at 5 mill would be a bargain.Sure he has emotional baggage and is a bit agro, but i think MON can keep him under control.
