  1. Ok sparky, heres the deal.

Out : Samuel (free), Hendrie (free), DJDJ (0.5 M), Davis (4 M), Ridgewell (2M), McCann (1M), Sutton (released).

Hughes may stay as cover.Delaney offered pay as you play.Olly and Luke to be offered new contracts.Sorensen offered short term deal to fight for his place. I know others have left but not really affecting first team squad.

In : Gordon (6M), Finnan (2M), Ben Haim (free), Reo Coker (8M), Sneijder (10M), Fred (9M).

Money out 35M money in 7.5M Net spend 27.5M

    Squad : Gordon, Sorensen, Taylor.

Defence : Finnan, Mellberg, Laursen, Ben Haim, Cahill, Bouma, Hughes, Delaney, O'Halloran.

Midfield : Young, Petrov, Reo Coker, Sneijder, Barry, Berger, Gardner, Maloney, Osbourne.

Strikers : Carew, Fred, Agbonglahor, Moore.

There you go, a well balanced first team squad. With plenty of youth and experience. Also plenty of players who can cover many positions and would keep a strong first eleven who ever was in.

A feasonable amount of money spent with feasonable exciting and steady new playesr purchased.

    Europe, here we come!

I hope your correct because this squad could go places.

I'd be very surprised if we managed to get Ben Haim.I'm pretty sure he'll either go to newcastle or chelski.Nevertheless, that looks a fantastic squad that could be serious contenders for europe.

  2. It is a difuicult situation with Moore, as he enters his last year of his contract.

If he does not play a lot this coming season and if as expected we sign another striker he will then be 4th or even 5th choice.

I cant see him then wanting to sign a new contract and he will then leave and will go for next to nothing, so do you take the option to sell him now for a couple of million or risk losing him for next to nothing??, personally take the money.

We have lost out too many timesin the past on the Bosman ruling!!

I say get MON to sweet talk him and then offer him a new contract.I any of our striers get injured next season he could have a runout in the team and its a very long season.Letting him go would be a bad mistake.Spurs has a pretty strong striker quartet so why cant we have the same?

  3. Boro can bugger off.Luke's a fantastic prospect for the future and is the best finisher at the club at this moment. His goal scoring record is pretty good too and he's a poacher. It would be a monumental mistake if we let him go.We don't need the money and we are trying to strenghten and build a squad. There's no reason why he should be sold unless it's Luke himself who wants to leave because he wants to start games.

  4. people are underestimateing martin o`neill the guy has a unique way of thinking when it comes to putting players together thats why he is a top manager and one thing that a lot of people seem to have forgotten is that this is about putting a TEAM together.I dont want bramble but if we sign him watch o`neill turn him into a player.O`neill knows what he is doing and i trust him 100%.

My problem with Bramble is this, I spent a hell of a lot of time laughing myself silly at Newcastle on Motd last season for having the misfortune to own Brambles registration and having to play him because they had no alternative.

You aren't alone.I was pissing myself when he was linked to the scum and was looking forward to laughing at them.

  5. Referees are getting less and less respect.Punishment(cards, free kicks) should be given to those who swear at the ref e.g:Rooney,lampard,scholes......You don't see players swearing at ref and getting away with it in other sports.

  6. two more off sky sports "your view" maybe its not just the general that uses the internet but i think the 1st one is a blue nose winding us up

i have it on good authority that Villa have agreed a £8M deal with Bayern Munich for Phillipe Lahm, and they are also signing Wesley Sneijder from Ajax for £8.5M. Villa are also in talks with Darren Bent for a £10.7M deal.

    R Lerner - Birmingham

my uncle works at the birmningham airport and says he saw none other than Ajax's Urby Emanuelson arriving and says he is here for talks with Martin O'Neil, he claims that it is likely that team-mate Wesley Sneijder will join him in the next fortnight.

    harry neuberman - sutton coldfield

:crylaugh: and i guess people just know what urby emanuelson looks like!I've never even heard of him.

  7. bellamy and kewell-yes,bellamy would be a great partner for carew and that partnership would score loads.Kewell is a gamble that i'm willing to make because he is likely to be available cheap and when he is fit he is an assett. You never know, his injury days might be over but of course there is a huge risk.

ribery and defoe-yes please.ribery did well in the wc and looks a fantastic player.i have admired him for quite a long time. However the french connection in arsenal is a huge draw for him.Defoe has a good scoring record.

    I'm greedy aren't i? :D

You reckon? Who'd put the ball in the back of the net, Bellamy or Carew? Wouldn't Gabby or Luke do it more often? Not saying we don't need an extra striker, by the way.

Bellamy would.I'm not saying moore or gabby wouldn't but i reckon bellamy can play on the left or right of carew in a 4-3-3.

  9. I read on another forum that apparently the Spainish press are denying a deal has been done between Valencia and Sneidjer, and to be honest after hearing what Valencia's manager has had to say about the deal i don't know why Wesley would wanna go there, the manager wasn't optimistic about signing him that's for sure.

I totally agree.Quique Flores made it sound like he was being forced to buy sneijder and said he wanted to make his own decisions on players so he can build the team that he wants. However, this could be a tactic to lower sneijder's price.Sneijder would be stupid to join a club where he isn't wanted by the manager.Shevchenko did it and look what happened.
