  1. This is one of the weirdest things I've ever read....... #ballsin all of the way.

Without wishing to open another can of worms, it seems that a majority of the people in here go 'over the top' of the boxer shorts (i'm in this group as well). I've always wondered whether anyone uses the front flap/fly/Y in the boxer shorts, and if not, why do they always have them?

I can't imagine any increase in wages would offset the £15m they are paying now. Seems very odd, also from his point of view why not wait and pocket the £15m himself.

Maybe he wanted to ensure Everton saw some benefit. Delph signed a new contract with us to ensure we saw some money from the deal.

Either that, or he realised that being a squad player at Chelsea gave him a better chance of going to the World Cup than being ostracized at Everton......

  3. I don't know whether it is just my hungover eyes, but does he seem to have grown taller and filled out a lot more whilst been out injured? Particularly against Boro, I thought he seemed to impose himself physically a lot more than I've seen before. I remember Ronaldo doing something similar at United, one minute a gust of wind could have blown him over, and the next he was built like a brick out-house.....

If he can add a bit of pace and power to the footwork and skill, then he could run the show for years to come.

  4. I understand that Verstappen has essentially broken the rules, but why give the drivers that option in the first place? Every driver is going to try and find corners to cut and shave a few seconds off, and that track layout gave him that option. If he had to put 4 wheels onto the grass to get past him, firstly he may think twice about doing so, and secondly, if he did go for it and got through, then he'd deserve that place. Also, if cutting that corner gains an advantage, why were cars not doing it there for the whole race? As far as I'm aware, there were only two corners that the stewards were looking at for the whole weekend, and that wasn't one of them.

I thought it was a harsh red card in that was no malice involved though the City lad was wiped out. On other hand I dont see any chance of this being appealed and if anything more could be thrown on it since took Mane about 3 minutes to leave the pitch

I do think that was because he wanted to check that Ederson was okay. To be fair he did look gutted about what happened, and had a look of genuine concern. Extra games on top for refusing to leave the field would be harsh....... (but this is the English FA so it wouldn't surprise me!!)

  6. I drive around 30,000 miles with work every year. I can pretty much say I've never had any sort of near miss from Monday through to Friday. Typically, everyone on the motorways in both rush hours knows the motorway etiquette and has experience of driving them. However, it scares the s**t out of me driving on motorways at the weekend,  its like Wacky Races. (particularly Sunday mornings....)

  7. My two pence worth..... I had the perfect girl, as well unwanted advances from a hot girl at work. I thought I did the correct thing by telling my girlfriend that this girl at work was laying it on thick, and that I wasn't interested (and wanted marriage, kids, the works with her). Unfortunately by doing this, the GF got paranoid, jealous, unbearable to live with and we ended up splitting up any way! So sometimes even doing the right thing can royally screw things up! Probably not helping you @Stevo985, sorry!!

  8. If we'd resigned Gareth Barry or Peter Crouch (as quite a few people on here were discussing) then would we be complaining that they are too old for the Championship?. They are the same age as JT and neither of them have ever relied on pace. What's the difference?

I'm positive now that Nike forces clubs to simplify their crests.

I suggested it on here after Everton got Nike and it was shot down.

But that's now Villa, man city, Everton and spurs who, immediately or very soon after switching to Nike, get a simplified crest. And those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Plus Arsenal also did it a few years back but maybe not so immediately after going with Nike but I'm sure they had an influence.

I've heard a rumour about this before as well. Spurs badge last season (with UA) was stitched directly into the shirt, and its looks like it is made specifically for them. (same with the last Man City Umbro shirt)

With Nike, they can use their standard templates and (cheaply) stitch a pre-made shield badge onto pretty much anything, and then charge 50/60% more as Spurs official merchandise. I think the shield has been put around the Spurs cockerel to make this easier for Nike to do. Same with the (old) new Villa and Everton badges.

If he gets a ban who is the Ferrari reserve driver?

Antonio Giovinazzi is the test driver. He filled in for Wehrlein at Sauber, for the first couple of races this season

  11. Knowing the way the FIA work, watch Hamilton get a some sort of grid penalty as well, for telling Vettel to take it outside the car. Jean Todt (ex-Ferrari) is in charge of the FIA now, isn't he?

Result was not that much of a surprise though, when, just like the senior England team, the squad and team selection prefers athletes who can run fast instead of footballers.

Also, wasn't that effectively Germany's U21 B team, as many of them are playing in the Confederations Cup?

Yep, quite a lot of the German U21s are at the Confederations Cup. It was pretty much our B team as well though, we could have picked Alli, Dier, Shaw, Stones, Sterling, Rashford etc.....

  13. The guy is a born winner, and I would say at points in his career, was bordering on World Class. When was the last time we were linked with, let alone signed a player of that stature? Yep, he's got a bit of history, but so have Grealish, Agbonlahor, McCormack etc..... and they are not fit to lace Terry's boots. The concerns about whether he can last a 46 game season are valid, but there is nothing more difficult for a footballer than a lack of consistent playing time. 5 games out, 1 game in, for the entire season is going to leave you rusty and prone to errors, especially when you are playing at the very, very top of your profession. It is an absolute no-brainer for me.......

Im just playing Devils Advocate here and im not actually saying this is a comparable belief to believing in God but:

Would you belittle someone who believes the earth is flat, honestly?

Sorry for jumping in @zakbut isn't this slightly different though? We have 100% proof that the Earth is round because we can see it, so therefore anyone who thinks it is flat deserves to be belittled. However we don't have 100% proof whether there is an afterlife or not, so you will always get varying opinions. I'm a non-believer, but have to respect the opinions of those that do, because I cannot prove them 100% wrong.......

He got a strongly worded reply back!

I'm right to be annoyed by this, right?

I reckon it's their quarter end. If you sign the paperwork in June he hits his target for the quarter, if you sign it in July it rolls over to Q2. If you are going to sign for it early, use that to your advantage and ask for a discount....... ;)

  16. I've got a couple of good ones coming up over the next few weeks. ELO at Wembley Stadium, then Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks in Hyde Park. Completely forgot that I'd booked the Hyde Park gig until last weekend, trying to find decent hotels now will be painful........

  17. So daddy has put his hand in his pocket for Max Chilton to go and play in Indycars now? There has to be a point where he realises that he is garbage, and tells him to get a proper job.

I can see why Huddersfield made changes (although I cannot agree with them doing so) but what possible reason can Bristol City give for not playing their best starting line up on Sunday (are they resting them up for their next game in August)?

The same reason that some of our fans are wanting us to play some of our youngsters I suppose. They've watched the same shower for the last 45 games, give someone else a chance to take the abuse!! ;)
