I'm amazed that the majority of people want to be soulless little robots at home.
You sound extremely bitter. To me, the office is soulless, full of presenteeism types. Granted, some people need workmates for friendship, especially in places like London.
As far as high streets go...why should I go to my office and support their high street, and not my local high street?

Get the public broadcaster to be a normal public broadcaster again, and not a 24/7 North Korea-esque propaganda network and re-reform the courts to unlock EU funds again. Oh and undo the ridiculous damage they did to women's rights.
Whenever I visit Warsaw and take my niece to one of her evening dance classes there is always someone with a loud speaker playing a recorded protest outside TVP headquarters. Even my niece saw TVP news as a joke 2 years ago when she was 14.

I think these two points can be contradictory.
It's difficult to help someone stay in a place that saw extermination. Many Jews were happy to buy into Zionism and the idea 'of their own place' after the disaster of the first half of the 20th century. And I can't blame them.
The problem is that the place which was chosen had other people in it already.
Palestine was being looked at by Polish Zionists back in the 30s as a possible place to settle.
On 1st September 1939 a ship in Gdansk (Danzig) harbour, laden with arms to fight the British in Palestine, was halted for use by the Polish Army against the invading Germans. Source: Rising 44 by Norman Davis. A very good book about the Warsaw Rising, not the ghetto uprising.

I saw a play in London called “The shark is broken “ and his son plays his part … talking about spitting image.
Play was really good , it was about the problems between the actors during the filming , Shaw and Dreyfus in particular clashed a lot, though kinda became friends by the end .
I saw that too brilliant. The son was Robert Shaw's not Scheider's.

There's a bit of that but it's largely a myth, same in South Wales. The Italian communities of both were there long before WW2 (Late 19th Century) - there was an exodus from Italy around 1890 and people were fleeing famine and drought.
And if I remember correctly, fans of Neath Rugby Club used to be nicknamed Turks by other South Wales clubs because of a WW1 POW camp. Once again, it may be urban myth.

One of the oldest Somalian communities in the UK is in Cardiff, from the years working as stokers on the steamships. Whether or not it is an enclave, I cannot tell.
There is a Portuguese enclave in Stockwell/Brixton. A tight cluster of cafes etc. It is a very old community 200+ years old I think.

Great episode. Again. I didn’t play the DLC so I thought that was all made for the show. I might have to find a way to play it now
I downloaded the DLC for free on PS3 from Playstation Store last week. Some of it is bloody hard!!

That the Stranger Things mall or do they all look the same?
On reddit one of the set designers said that it was an abandoned mall in Calgary. They seemed to have great fun half bringing it back to life and apparently there was a lot of skateboarding involved.
It was only a one-storey mall, so the ceiling was painted blue so they could CGI upper levels.

She hulk - was just a marvel comedy didnt really like it at all ti be honest. Only enjoyed the 2nd from last episode. The last episode was just so wierd. No idea who thought that was a good idea? Big time flop
I thought it was great fun. My niece loved all the digging at incels. I suppose it's a show more aimed at teenagers than old gits!

I'll leave it there, people can carry on living in there idealistic worlds as long as they want.
And you can hide behind an avatar of a fictional freedom fighter from a writer that would abhor all the nonsense you are posting.

Finished Dahmer. The dad Richard Jenkins was great and it was only now when I checked his name that I realised Shari was Molly Ringwald. She looked familiar all along.
I couldn't stop laughing when he was telling off Dahmer in his late 20s. Reminded me so much of him in the film Stepbrothers.

I think the only thing that will get rid of the monarchy is the Tory party.
Just as they are the party of "the Union", they purport to be the party of the monarchy.
They are the most likely to break up the Union, or at least see a united Ireland.
And they are the most likely to break the monarchy or at least reduce it if they can find a way to take the land, money and assets for themselves and "interested parties", rather than return them to the people, or do good for the people.

Let him take their blood money and be damned!

It makes a big difference it you pull the width in against a team with good wingers. Or vice versa if your own team has good wingers.
I’m sure clubs used to adapt their pitches to the opposition.

Fabrizio is saying they're just finalising the paperwork for Bentancur. So it's clear he's going there
And Kulusevski?

If you go on the Spurs forum, they’re having the exact same debate about Bentancur that we were - basically, is he good enough and will he even improve them.
Yep. Us football fans are universally a bunch of sad sacks!!

I don’t believe the club bother with smokescreens.
But if the press publish nonsense, I’m sure they shrug and leave them to it.

Have you watched the crime series Gommorah? The Italians have some very literal nicknames.

I've never heard of him, to be honest!
When I saw the name I thought we'd signed another youth player...

Imagine singing "You're not English" to the tune of Cwm Rhondda? Thick clearings in the woods.
