I think we heard so much ITK stuff over OGS because they saw it as a great chance to boost their ITK profile. They knew the trees posts only facts and jumped on it confident it would turn out correct. I don't remember any of those ITK mentioning OGS before the trees reported where the plane was flying. Somebody was in the know about OGS straight after the Bolton game. It was amazing to see that the bookmakers quoting such an unknown at 10/1 where others were quoted at 80/1.....

Has anyone thought of Nigel Adkins from Southampton.........surely more popular than Hoddle?

Maybe there is still a deal to be done with Molde, maybe both sides are just waiting for Molde to play there game on Monday night before the mid season break. Stranger things have happened but it seems unlikely. Personally i reckon that RL has somebody else in mind. The press were pumping out last Sunday that Ole was only a "good candidate" but we had other "great options". I've been clinging to this hope as well. The way I figure, Randy has yet to conduct a typical manager search. Both GH and the other one came out of left field. OGS was out of nowhere as well. So it means RL/PF (a) are conducting a discreet search for a new, energetic manager (like what we keep hearing in the papers), ( are waiting for someone to fall into our laps, or © aren't actually aware that we need a new manager and will franctically scramble to get someone in near the end of August. I'm going with (a), if only for my own sanity. I was all kinds of excited about OGS and once that hope was dashed, I realized I can't keep yo-yo-ing up and down. OGS you might believe was out of nowhere but someone knew. Straight after the Bolton game bets were placed on him at 10/1 to take over.......coincidence? who knows?

If he knocks the back then surely he lacks ambition. Wants the easy life....maybe thats why his teams only play the final third of the season. A bottom half of the league manager and his happy with just that.

A lot thought that OGS was left field, hadn't even been considered, known about by the fans as a possible successor to AM but on the day of the sacking his odds were relatively short 10s - 20s compared to other "unknowns". Straight after the Bolton game someone was ITK (as to the possibility of OGS) it seems and got 10s. I think that AMs replacement has been planned for sometime and have to put my faith in RL getting it right this year....surely he has had enough of paying managers compensation when he sacks them for being inept

Well he's now the favourite in many places, second favourite in others. The strange thing about all this is that before his odds started to fall yesterday there were absolutely no rumours or whispers of Benitez to Villa at all. Why would the odds just drop like that? He was way out in the 20s yesterday. VillaMat tweeted that he had rumours about FSW before odds started dropping. He said nothing concrete but will be digging.... another Talksport rumour?

To be fair to James Nursery and a few other journos they were all telling us that OGS was not the man from Saturday morning onwards by their words...just that most of us were in the Solskjaer Cuckoo Land at the time and didn't notice. The fans hype was the story
