  1. Was at Cambridge today, played OK when he came off the bench. Couple of nice through balls but didn't set world alight. That said, Cheltenham weren't the best in general today and if I'm being honest, robbed a draw at the end haha.

Wouldn't be surprised if he does a full season at chelt next season, duff has hinted that.

Great goal on saturday, I was right behind the goal and was willing him to slot it home.

I've been to most Cheltenham home games and have heard a few negative comments about Ramseys involvement but ultimately its his first proper loan spell, hes away from home and League One is very physical and very different from youth footie. He has been anonymous in a good percentage of the games and I feel like when hes been involved he's always trying to setup a one-two or give and go and the other players aren't quite on the same wavelength. Cheltenham tend to go long and direct to Alfie May most of the time and bypass everyone else.

I'd say its been a decent loan and hopefully he can progress further next season.

Are you sure you've been to most Cheltenham home games? They certainly don't "go long and direct" to 5ft nothing Alfie may, they try to pass out from the back.

Most Cheltenham fans I know have said a similar thing "are villa paying us to play this kid". I've found it frustrating watching him too to be honest with a lot of his decisions (seems to take ages to make them sometimes) but think if he did another loan spell, he'd improve a lot. Have seen maybe 7 or 8 of the games he's played... so maybe I've missed the good ones lol.

Callum Wright on the other hand is an absolute baller. Wee bit older than Aaron obviously but if Aaron can replicate what he's done at Cheltenham, then happy days.

Seems harsh but he's been hyped up massively so far! He does seem to be fairly down to earth in his interview though, so hopefully he can crack on and be the talent that's clearly in there somewhere.

When he does get minutes, what position is he playing? Midfield?

Sorry, didn't respond to this.... He was playing as a winger. The thing I found most frustrating is the fact he never seems to even attempt to shoot, even when in loads of free space.

The thing I find unusual about the Azaz signing is that we've loaned him to League Two side Newport, despite the fact he was one of Cheltenham's best players last season and helped them to promotion, you would have thought that they'd take him back as League One side, there was also talk of Albion wanting to keep him for next season as a squad player.

One of Cheltenhams best players last season? 🤣 Next someone will be saying Vasillev played a big part too....

He had the odd good game but was definitely not one of their best, ask any Cheltenham fan that. There's a reason he's gone back to League 2 and not rejoined Cheltenham.

Only 20 though, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment, still time to improve I guess.

  5. Still only getting the odd substitute appearance here and there but Cheltenham are now top of the league, so maybe chances will continue to be limited :(

Could do with having a few more shots though, he's only had 1 so far according to the official stats!

I've always wondered how these setups are with games.

Does it feel quite realistic when you have the seat and the wheel?

Far better than a controller yes, obviously would be better yet if you had a full on simulator with the hydraulics etc but steering wheel is all I'll ever be able to afford! Some good feedback through it and different rallies have different levels of feedback. Apparently it's very noisy downstairs when I'm using it though lol.

If you have a VR headset, Dirt Rally is exceptional. I can only imagine how much better it would be with a wheel set up though!

I'd probably be sick with a VR headset, some of the settings on there already make me feel a bit queezy as standard haha.

  7. Austria, Belgium, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, UK(lol), USA, Vatican

So, 23 countries... think that's all of them!

Favourite probably Costa Rica & Mexico. Love Italy too and Thailand was good.

Next up... bugger all at this rate! Thinking Switzerland.

  8. Currently addicted to Dirt 2.0.

Got a Playseat for my birthday and bought myself a Thrustmaster wheel (for anyone who doesn't know what these are....I'm not making the names up! 😁)

I'm terrible at it, but it's good fun!

Before christmas, I was playing AOE 2 & 3 as I bought the definitive editions on steam. Rolling back the years. Got me all excited for AOE4....if it ever gets released!

  9. I watch a lot of Cheltenham games, he's not had much game time so far. Just substitute appearances thus far.

Not done much as of yet, the odd glimpses of skill but could do with more game time.

Unfortunately for him, the other new signing Sam Smith is the preferred option currently and neither is going to take Alfie Mays place in the team.

Am hopeful he will get more game time in the coming games though, Cheltenham have had a couple of bad results and injuries recently so Mike Duff (manager) may mix things up a bit.

The criticism he gets is totally unwarranted..he works as hard as many others and miles more than Barkley. Also has a bit of quality. He isn't the problem

I was very underwhelmed by his signing but to be honest, I've been delighted with him and his increase in work rate and tracking back in his time here shows he has a good attitude.

    Agree with this totally.

After the first maybe 6 or so games I was absolutely ranting about him, since then I think he's been quality. Did nothing wrong today in my eyes.

  11. Terrible first half but improved in the second (obvious statement of the day).

McGinn gave the ball away far too many times today, maybe needs a rest in next match for Nakamba.

I'd pick Ramsey over Barkley at the moment, he (Barkley) seems to be picked regardless of how he plays....can only assume there's something in his loan contract.

Honestly thought we would lose by double-digits. Wonderful performance. Hope a few of these kids get an opportunity to play in League 2 or 1 in the second half of the season. Will be fun to follow their journey.

    Same here.

Would be good if 3 or 4 can get a couple of first team substitute appearances minimum by end of season. Was particular impressed by Onodi and Revan. Unlikely that either will get a shot in first team this season though given the positions they play.

Loans would be very beneficial too!

  13. Depends what it is renamed as.... I go watch Cheltenham town a fair bit and they've just renamed the stadium "the world of smile stadium" which is gay as fook, named after a local garden centre haha.

People still just say whaddon road though just like people would just say villa park. I've never heard anyone say anything other than St James park for Newcastle to use a premier league example.

  14. He's a good talent, he can be a bit selfish from time to time but he has potential, he's lethal in front of goal, I think he needs a loan this season but you never know, he might a chance here this season

I think he should be given a chance in villa team. A lot of the time last season we needed that selfishness instead of them pissing about passing it on edge of the box then someone ending up back in own half, found myself so frustrated at times it was like just take a damn shot someone!

  15. Was that a bomb squad 11 we had art Forest Green, him, CNZ and Cissokho all seemingly playing, who else. Senderos?

Unbelievably he actually scored tonight! Don't let that get people's hopes up though he made some attrocious passes straight to the opposition, a couple right in front of our own goal! Luckily it wasn't a premier league side so wasn't punished for it.

    What game is this??

Was down as Aston Villa U21s on Bet365.

Game was against forest green rovers who are in conference (or national league as it's now called).

Wasn't just under 21 they were down as "Aston villa XI".

Loads played, bunn, baker, Richardson, donacien, tonev, Cole, nzogbia, kozak, Robinson and 2 youth team first half then loads of subs 2nd half ending up bunn with 10 youth team. Hepburn-Murphy played 15 mins before going off injured so hopefully nothing serious.

Players who I thought did well: Bunn, baker(motm imo), Cole, sellars, leggett and Ricardo Calder (I think it was him lol).

  17. Played full 90 mins tonight, clean sheet and seems to command area well. Made a few saves and no mistakes..... Pretty happy with him as a number 2, good business it seems to me.

Obviously only 1 game but none the less, positivity for once haha.

  18. Any reason why he didn't play at all against Swindon?

Probably to get more minutes tonight.

Played around 60 mins tonight and did absolutely nothing, definitely not going to fill the benteke void! On a more positive note, sellars looks pretty sharp and skillful, one for future!
