Baldness is in if you want to be a manager. If you look like Pep maybe you can be as good as Pep.
Hopefully Ten Haag stays too. Slot coming into Liverpool also.
Big Ange is starting to recede maybe he needs to shave it all off.
Whoa, I'm seeing double here.
Four Guardiolas!

Is it Forest he went to?
I remember a few on here wanting him at the time, how did he actually do?
Nice poem, JV.

Also, I keep seeing 'if Emery wants him, then it's all good...', shall we just close down all discussions in transfer threads then? Clearly we shouldn't have any concerns whatsoever about all future signings because of our current successes?!
Not at all, but we should at least make an effort to understand what Unai sees in current day Barkley, rather than being anchored to the Barkley that used to play for us.
Players can change and evolve. Most will evolve further playing for Unai too.

Firstly, even with being dumped out of the domestic cups quite early, a fair few of our players played in excess of 50 games this season.
Secondly, Barkley was being touted as an outside bet for an England call up, such were his performances for Luton.
Thirdly, Unai doesn't just cobble shit together. He'll know exactly what Barkley's strengths and weaknesses are, and will know precisely how he fits into his team vision.
I'm all for it, especially if it means it protects a lot of our budget to invest further into the team.

With Europe, the seasons are gruelling. Barkley gives us genuine rotation options for one of McGinn, Tielemans and Luiz.
He's had a fantastic season at Luton, and I feel he's found his best position in a more deeper role.
All that matters is that Unai has seen how he would fit in next season's team.

To tell you the truth… I don’t give a shit about having our name in full on there. There are many badges that don’t even have the name of the club that are instantly recognisable or iconic. If the design is good, the other stuff doesn’t matter so much.
This is my point from earlier... There's a handful of team that can do that. We know and recognise our lion of course. I don't think we're quite there yet with the rest of the world.
The more exposure we get with Adidas and Champs League, will certainly help in that quest.

That’s fair a point..
has there been an embroidered that iteration of the Lerner badge?
I believe so, but I couldn't say with certainty.
My feelings towards this badge is that it ticks the box of being instantly recognisable as a Villa badge. That's not to say it's great but, for me, it's all about what we associate the badge with.
If this badge is what future Villa fans look back at the team that beat Bayern again in the Champions League then it will be remembered fondly. I don't love it, but I think it will grow on me because of this team, these owners and this manager.
Out of interest, living outside of the UK, I mingle with fans of teams from all over in my office. As much as we may know and love it, I can say that showing most of them a standalone lion leaves many with no clue which team it's from.

To play devil's advocate here, you keep showing this version of the Lerner badge, but that isn't how the badge looked digitally.
The detail was from the shirt manufacturer for that season, and there's nothing stopping Adidas from doing that again in the future.
