I know, I know - he was playing crap when we first signed him. There's probably a similar post from me in the thread too. I just couldn't help myself though!

Looking forward to trawling the Diaby thread in a few months too 😂

Probably my most out there post... Rarely that far out. Unless it was Gerrard!

When did this happen ? Heck could easily be referring to the outsourcing driven by wyness to fanatics as the main one. It’s fair to question the size of the commercial deals from before - Purslow appointed Gerrard as much for his name as ability to help grow the brand and got BK8 on the back of that

Even if it was about older legacy, still don't think it's particularly becoming to go in like that publicly; he could make the same points without the side swipes at predecessors who all performed their duties under markedly worse circumstances for a football club.

  3. Feel like someone should mention that senior managers talking down about their predecessors who oversaw a massive growth in sporting and commercial position is a bit off and does not reflect well on them.

Ask what level of contingency is given over to ongoing maintenance and operation of the North stand in place of redevelopment given that it's at the end of its functional life, have external surveyors and structural engineers been retained to ensure that the building remains safe and appropriate? How much life can be squeezed out of it given methods of construction and lifespan to date.

5% increases in season tickets still double current levels of inflation, bit grim. Assume match tickets difficult to secure again and uplift at least equal. Rationale behind scrapping expansion feels shaky at best. More dynamic ticketing system would reduce the random empties to games that appear sold out (and would allow more groups to attend rather than ones and twos).

Security/stewarding is an issue. At Olympiacos, there were some Olympiacos fans in the stand near us, some cretin came running up to the row in front of me shouting 'foreign words removed.' out repeatedly, he ran up multiple stairs (and stood on someones toes) to shout abuse at fans that hadn't been any trouble. I challenged him, stewards came no where near the bloke that was causing more issue and acting in an inappropriate and xenophobic manner. I was left shaking as I was convinced he was gonna nut me but i couldn't let it go unsaid that being foreign wasn't a crime and he was more of an issue, kids around us were terrified - and not by the Olympiacos supporters. It ruined the night for me more than the result! Wanted to speak to a steward afterwards, everyone around was a contractor/teenager. Far too. uch acceptance of this kind of behaviour, when it should be zero tolerance.

  4. Was at Chelsea away in the League Cup under Deano, Sanson was very impressive back from injury, then went off with another, never really got started...

The state of that shirt and the badge. Horrible alignment aside, I thought it was a Chelsea badge at first glance.

    Ditto

£50k/w-£55k/w says it might be tricky to find a new club for him. Unless we pay a large part of his salary.

How do we get ourselves into this position. Surely a half decent championship keeper (so par) would accept half that wage to ride the bench.

Lol - Purslow straight under the bus there!!

Some not good contracts in relation to what the club can now get. That's not a surprise. The level of sporting progression dictates what's possible. Remember, when those contracts were negotiated we were a lower mid table team.

The aim is to build the brand and bring in more money. That's happening and then some.

All well and good. He's clearly not attempting to make himself popular, and his achievements are set in the context of a miraculous on field performance. Jury well and truly out - as the visible bits aren't brilliant as a fan. Betting sponsor, crest debacle, anti customer practices, soon to be significant price rises... I doubt he'll be here all that long.

  9. It's a sharp business practice making customer experience worse. If this is the big way of making money, the new leadership aren't especially imaginative and seem hell bent on extraction rather than creating an attractive proposition for people to spend their money.

🤦‍♂️ We have just secured the largest sponsorship in our history 🤣

For a person who is Mr #onbrand its pretty embarrassing.

Largest sponsorship agreement in history should be expected given our ever improving standing... I believe BK8 were the largest in our history until today.

If Lucas goes we need to bring in a new LB,, who is better than Moreno. Moreno is not good enough to be our first choice LB. That signing will be costly, and I wouldn't do it. We would also lose a model professional and leader and example to our younger players. Moreno is either the "younger" understudy or he needs to be sold and a young player brought in (makes no sense to me).

Also, Unai can use them both to nullify players like Saka in close games.

I think he's just not found form this season due to injuries etc. He was a marked improvement in Digne last season.

Really? That's mad. (Purely because he might not go)

Like when he was one of the faces of M&S England alongside Kane.

    He's a good looking lad...
