  1. He's made mistakes, think it was asking for trouble to buy Lowton, and Bennett, and ask both to step up and perform immediately.

Whether that is due to financial constraints i don't know. Vlaar and Benteke are good signings, at least we attack teams this season

even if the results have been worse than last season so far.

I don't think his job will be or probably should be on the line, even if the worst happens.

We've had too much instability over the last few seasons, changing the manager this season isn't going to fix that.

Its going to be a rough ride this season, but we need to be patient, and get reinforcements in January, particularly in midfield.

Its the same people who roll out the anti O Leary / Houlier / McL banners every season on the Holte, who were crying out for Lambert

to be our manager, so the next few months will be interesting.

So glad someone else thinks hes bought 2 rubbish players everytime I mention it im pissed , they are great potentially but no experience whatsoever. Lambert keeps saying about westwood hes played over 200 games yeah in a crap league, lambert needs to realise what he is doing because at the moment hes got no idea

  2. Look at our midfield today...

    Holman - KEA - Delph - Albrighton

Is that the worst midfield we have ever had?

Holman - Good worker but isnt creative and doesnt score.

KEA - Isnt creative and doesnt score.

Delph - isnt creative and doesnt score. Cant take players on.

Albrighton - Has been out of form for over a year.

No wonder we arent scoring and Bent barely touches the ball. That midfield is probably the worst in the league.

    very true

  3. Season in - season out - if you're around the bottom - eventually you go down. - you can't keep getting away with it. Im sort of torn between hoping Lamberts players come good - and a spending spree in Jan.

Right now I would settle for not being out of touch come Dec 31.......

Couldnt agree with the above statment more we need to be in touch with the rest relegation will see us like the leeds and sheffield weds there will be no quick return for us

  4. Lambert is making mistakes but the bigger picture says its not his fault.

He is effectively flying an out of control plane.

Who signed Matthew Lowton and Joe Bennett instead of experienced players aswell as keep playing albrighton and Holman.

  5. yeah we didnt lose but Norwich had enough chances to win 4 games against us Lambert is paid to make the right choices when your struggling it makes sense to have your best players playing and he had 3 of them on the bench I know CNZ hasnt set the world alight but he is a very attack minded player

  6. Right Im gunna get straight to the point Villa are doomed, Lambert has to take the blame Lerner bid for Dempsey who was sensible and rejected the move, Lambert has alientated himself from the experienced players it was a utter utter joke to have Ireland, Bent and CNZ on the bench today, That muppet Bennett is a liability as is lowton they are great potentially but we need EXPERIENCE and more EXPERIENCE and some QUALITY get it in your head Lamert every week were becoming more and more of a joke and the records are being broken to a new time low, admittedly Lambert did absolutely nothing to get players of quality and experience into the team the hole club is a joke and I am not giving Lerner of Lambert anymore time the next 5 games can be written off 1 point maybe at best. WhatI want to know is will Paul Lambert look the fans in the face and admit he is wrong if Villa go down his interview today said he was impressed with our effort, that does not get you 3 points and even with 11 men we wouldnt have held on, also I noticed at the end of the game the players hardly embraced Lambert at the end Villa park used to be a fottress its now like a all you can eat buffett " You just help yourself" totally incapable and inept with his tactics

  7. I have and still am concerned at our home record win percentage sky sports had us and liverpool at 15.4% home wins for 2012, I really do believe Lambert will relegate us to the championship I seriously do not believe that the players he has bought are experienced enough nor are they good enough, to be honest I think it is a real joke signing a dutch international ( Ron Vlaar) and playing him in a back 4 of bennett, lowton and clark. I feel that lambert backs himself which is very good but come xmas we will be in bottom 3 and 2013 will be a even bigger struggle. Norwich at home this weekend has a draw written all over it lambert needs to pick his best team when available which he isnt doing. My 1st 11 would be in a 3-5-2 formation

    Guzan

    Dunne Vaar Clark

    Delph KEA

    Gabby Ireland Nzogbia

    Bent Benteke

I just think lambert has bought Lowton a regular in League 1 yes I did say league 1 and bennett a championship player as for westwood and bowery they wont eveer be good enough to hold a regular place down and will offer nothing when used as subs.

  8. I am a Lambert fan but I have to say I am starting to lose it with him he has single handedly bought aload of rubbish, Lowton and Bennett are not good enough he has basically forced Bents hand he will be gone in January, has has had poor service and I think he will put in a transfer request it is a embarrasment for him to be dropped for england and how villa , Lambert had money it is clear in the window and he thinks he is a bigtime well mrlambert it is time your picked wotever little points you can until january because we are goping to be rock bottom by then our win records get worse by the week. I just dont think lambert realised ho big a job this was to take on

  9. Please Pleas Please fellow fans tell me it aint just me that thinks Lambert has been told to build for next season in the championship, Bennett and Lowton are youngsters with no pl experiance baker and lichaj have hardly any neither talk of getting Stephens and bowery is beyond a joke. I have kept on saying it dosnt matter what aplyers get if they aint good enough to make a immediete impact they aint worth having. Relegation is on its way. There is 2 big days left yet we need 3 maybe 4 quality addtions FACT

  10. Right ladies and gentlemen lets get real Villa are going down this year, Sorry but Stephens, Bowery and Bennet are just not upto it, I posted a few days ago that it is quality that we need not numbers, my nan is available if we need numbers as is my dad with 2 left feet. Lerner Ha sjust lost ambition and we are in for a massive struggle and after the window shuts on friday and we get a thumoing at Newcastle it will be too.

  11. I’ve had a long chat with myself recently. I’ve come to the realisation that, having fallen out of love with football a while ago, I can no longer rightly call myself an Aston Villa fan.

I’ve been holding on to this delusion, justifying to myself the time, money and effort I have invested in being a Villa supporter. The tens of thousands of miles driven, the thousands of pounds and the thousands of hours are not easily written off. The effort I put into starting and running a supporters club in this small corner of the country, again not easy to write off.

However, like a marriage that stays in place for the sake of this kids, my marriage to Villa has remained for the sake of my own sanity. For my own sake, I must now declare this marriage over. I’ve reached the tipping point. I’m out.

I don’t get any joy from being a Villa supporter anymore. In days gone by, win lose or draw, I’d have enjoyed the match. Newcastle and Sunderland would be the first 2 away games I’d look for when the fixtures were released. Last season, I didn’t even check to see when those fixtures were on. This season I haven’t bothered either.

What has caused me to finally decide on this sporting emancipation? You probably won’t like the answer. I could go on for hours and pages and days and paragraphs explaining exactly why, but it boils down to this simple statement.

    The people.

Footballers, the people who run the game, and the supporters. Each group has their faults and I am powerless to change them. Yet, I am particularly turned off by the attitude and actions of some of the so-called supporters of Aston Villa. If things don’t go their way, the immediate reaction is to lash out and blame individuals. The sporting element is gone. People are immediately branded as poor human beings. This ire isn’t restricted to the players. Men and women who simply do their best at their daily jobs are subjected to some pretty horrific abuse by the nameless and the mindless. Have a read of some of the posts on this website or listen to the talk in the stands at Villa Park and try to tell me that these distasteful actions and words are those of a minority. Where I once enjoyed the tribal element of supporting this football club, I now find that things have irretrievably too far.

So, I’ve taken the decision to divorce myself from AVFC. In all honesty, it’s an easy decision to make. The plaster doesn’t need ripping off – it’s already limp and falling off anyway. What I’m doing now is simply deciding to embrace what should have been obvious to me for some time.

I’m sure I’ll have a mourning period and, like a lonely divorcee, I’ll be tempted to go back during some particularly dark moments. I’ll wean myself off things like Villa Talk and I’ll probably be seen in the Off-Topic sections for a little bit. This will fade away too I’m sure. And if you're muttering to yourself about this being self-indulgent hogwash, good for you.

I’m pretty strong in my resolve and I’m out.

I felt quite emotional reading that just shows in lights what the villa is doing these days, I dont know him from adam but from reading the post he seems villa forever, if the club dont pull something out buy friday at midnight I have a feeling that villa park will be empty and more fans will walk away and I for 1 will not blame any of them.

Great post Gazton that was from the heart

  12. I just can't see why if Lambert only had £8m to spend he blew it so early in the window and almost half of it on a League 1 fullback. All logic points to getting a couple more players in imo

I agrre with you massivley to a point it dosnt make any sense spending it on lowton KEA gr8 signing No high quality signings and im afraid Bent should be exempt from training we cant have him injured and also Vlaar what a player he is

  13. There is lots of speculation that we wont sign many more players of quality, the facts are as brilliant a signing Paul Lambert was if he isnt given the tools to do the job properly he will fail and I wont blame him 1 bit, I will walk away burn my season ticket and never come back until the clubn is in the right hands, I will not be complaining and shouting I will do that by stopping my hard eared money going into this what appears downwards club. Fair play to Rabdy if he dont wanna spend thats upto him I am just going to see what ahppens from now til the end of august and if it aint satisfactory to me I will always love the villa but ill become a sofa supporter.

  14. Richard

Major problem is hutton and warnock are so shit they wouldnt make it in the blue square prem think villa should terminate both and pay there contract ups we have paid for shit managers to join and leave so lets just bin the idiots off

Would probably cost 10 million + to pay off Warnock and Hutton after loyalty bonuses etc. Might eat into the transfer budget a bit?

The this is a utter utter joke and heads need to roll the fact is we had NRC spend 8mi and let him go for 0 we had King Carlos and he went for 0 we signed warnock for 9m that makes me wanna cry higher management should be made accountable and hold there hands up were a shambles and Lambert is the only good thing we got
