  1. “he bought some right rubbish and played the most boring football ever witnessed at St Andrews IMO. It took the fans to get a change in the playing system but then he reverted back to his boring and defensive rubbish that got us relegated...twice.” Not my words but a bluenose on Bham Mail’s forum. I hope when this all goes pear shaped as AM will not get the support a new manager needs to succeed that you don’t complain that AM was not given a fair chance. After all “…the Board has taken his tenure at our local rivals and the strong emotions associated with this very seriously” and still decide to appoint him.
  2. I just don’t see how he can be a success. His Premier League record, the dour football he played, he has to hit the ground running and you only have to read the numerous forums to see how fans are divided and that’s just on the news he will have an interview. Pushing s**t uphill if you ask me and it will fall back down on all our faces IMO.
  3. So the board are looking for a manager that has Premier League experience that is to be ignored and base an appointment on prior achievements outside of the Premier League. So why not Rikjaard, Shuster etc that have been mentioned not get an interview?!!!
  4. General Buying a club doesn’t make a fan. Investment in said club doesn’t make a fan Having a tattoo doesn’t make a fan Feeling the pain and anguish at the possible of appointment AM is what makes a fan. Obviously you and the board don’t feel this. AM will walk to the dugout (if appointed) for the first home game to polite applause from some sections of the crowd, and contemptuous booing from others. If at the end 90 minutes Villa lose playing dour football he will walk off to 30,000 boos I am sure. You may not need the thumbs up to make an appointment but surely the team don’t need 30,000 thumbs down if things don’t get off to a flyer. (And it is a risk every time the team take the field at VP if AM is in charge - great for the visitors)
  5. Do the media know any more than any one here. So far we have had Ancelotti joins on Friday, Ancellotti taking a sabbatical so Jol is in the frame. The next day Jol signs for Fulham so now McClaren gets his name mentioned. I think if the media mentioned the Spice Girls or Vinny Jones in relation to the job panic would set in.
  6. "Lerner made contact with Ancelotti’s representatives last week and is waiting for a definitive response about the 51-year-old’s feeling about Villa’s vacancy." www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news Who to believe?
  7. Just read the article. Paper filling up space if you ask me but then again......AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
  8. i think we should all go to church and pray for Ancelotti, a lttle extra help wwont hurt. As for Rafa and Rijkaard I would question whether the advancement of Villa was their motivation or to restore their own reputations. Ancelotti or Deschamps for me
  9. Hi General First time post for me. Obviously lots of media, fan speculation and requests regarding the next man to be in charge. I am not going to add any names to those already mentioned. I do hope however, that when considering the man for the job that the Board will look beyond the CV and consider the philosophy that they will bring to the club. GH was making changes and I feel progress would have been made. Get a man who will bring a football culture to VP from the youth upwards. Continue the good work and your presence on the forum brings the fans and the club closer together. Best wishes to GH.
