  1. people are betting on us to be relegated?

jesus christ get a grip that's disgraceful

    Why?

I don't want it to happen, its the last thing I want. I'd rather not win the £400, but it looks like a possibility hence the shortish odds, and £400 would pay for a night on the beers to drown my sorrows.

Our last couple of wins this season pulled us out of the shit, everyone agrees 9th place is deceptive.

Young has gone, Reo Coker has gone, Friedel has gone, Downing might go, can't see Bent being happy to stay, can't see us attracting any decent players under the ginger one so how far exactly do you think we will be from the relegation zone?

I think Randy will back him to buy anew spine. This happens after every few years anyway. Remember Southgate/Draper/Milosevic or Dublin/Merson/James etc?

  2. Does the board even give a crap about losing Downing? One of our best players in the squad currently? I mean it's bad enough losing Young, but it looks like we're gonna lose Downing as well. We're going backwards big time.

It will be very difficult for Downing to replicate last season. I am not sure he has it in him. Hope he does though

  3. Shit appointment but can't see us going down. 9th-12th I imagine. Which IMO is depressing enough.
It will be hard to accept finishing in that kind of area bearing in mind that the team will have had a full pre-season and there wont be the kind of upheaval that there was last season. I reckon we'll finish 10th or 11th.

I will be optimistic and say we will finish 7th with a good cup run. Everton will struggle, so will Spurs if they lose Modric.

    Up the Villa!

  4. I'm not talking about me, but some fans struggle to buy ST's, they should be allowed to cheer, boo or whatever in my opinion

    My word.

Can you not see its these 'fans' who boo the team that destroyed our season last year?? Now theyre probably the same fans who want Houllier back!! Unbelievable!

Add to that the fans kicking and screaming over Martinez and McClaren being appointed, its no wonder Randy is saying '**** it' im gonna get WHO I THINK IS THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB. Im surprised weve even managed to attract aq manager AT ALL with how the fans are behaving. Embarassing.

Whether you agree or not (personally, i dont, but hey thats life) at the end of the day this is Villa and we shouldnt be booing them.

What players will sign for us if there booing at the ground every other week? NONE. THATS RIGHT! Nobody will want to play for us, and its **** all to do with McLeish...its the fans

Lets the blame the fans lark is coming in now hey, do me a favour! So its all our fault of this current mess hey, Randy Lerner could have stopped this and he must be clever enough to realise what reaction this is going to cause, you now can't say lets employ McLeish who by the way is a SHIT Manager, relegated twice in three premier league seasons. If Randy wants out, he can go as far as i'm concerned.

Nobody will want to play for Alex McLeish unless his name is Barry Ferguson or Kenny Miller.

The fans can only be blamed if they don't even give the man a chance. How can someone support the team if they are busy booing the manager? This will not allow the team to progress. And players will want out with none wanting to join.

As for your comment on Lerner, I thought you were better than that. You forgotten how much he spent in January. You may not agree with his choice of manager but at the very least Lerner deserves respect.

  5. The media are saying that AVFC are taking a big risk in hiring McLeish.

In my book risk means uncertainty, and I am not uncertain of the outcome here!

He will stay for two years, tops three. We will have a little bit weaker squad, our brand of football will have become worse, attendances will have gone down and we don't have Darren Bent anymore.

Imagine being a player hearing about former players like Mark Hughes, even an up and coming Martinez, Martin Jol, Frank Rijkaard, Carlo Ancelotti and Sanchez Flores. Then they open the newspaper

and see this ginger, **** joker accepting the job.

    WTF!?

A lot of people inside the game are saying it is a good appointment. Only downside is fans' reaction to being ex blues.

I'd be interested in how much you know about rijkaard (not counting barca and the ethos instilled by cruyff) and flores' brand of football?

  6. Stu, fans who pay their way can do whatever the hell they like. Don't try and be all PC Plod.

Excuse me? So you pay to go see the villa and you can slag off a very good chairman whenever you want?

By that token Randy can tell you to jam it up your arse as he has put far more money into the club than you ever will.

Villa fans acting like children all over the place at the moment.

True, he has put in far more than any fan. He will probably get his money back....with interest and profit. We will not.

Really? How much do you think villa would sell for?

  7. Stu, fans who pay their way can do whatever the hell they like. Don't try and be all PC Plod.

Fans who go to the game just to boo the team are stupid. Im sorry but if they cant see thats detrimental to the club as a whole then theyre even more stupid than i first thought.

    Agree with this.

  8. Seems to have the job. Time to get behind the club, chairman, manager and players. Let's look forward to the transfers! Randy will prove himself again by backing mcleish in the transfer market.

Anyone else bored with the negativity that is going around our club over the last 18 months?

  9. It pisses me off how people are saying Villa fans are only upset because he's a former Blues manager.

    No, it's because he's shit.

OK so where does he have to finish next season for you to admit he is a good manager? Top 4? Top 6? Top8?

He's not a good manager though.

So if he finished top 4 with us you would still say he was not a good manager?

Of course I wouldn't, but can you really see that happening?

No but I think he should be judged like any other manager. I think if we are top 7 we would have had a good season and he will have proved he has done well.

I spoke to a Villa fan earlier who said it was not about him being from Blues, it is just that he is an awful manager. I asked him the same question and he answered even if he won the league he is still a shit manager!!! Can you believe that?

  11. It pisses me off how people are saying Villa fans are only upset because he's a former Blues manager.

    No, it's because he's shit.

OK so where does he have to finish next season for you to admit he is a good manager? Top 4? Top 6? Top8?

  12. The one thing our squad needs is discipline. McLeish will bring that in abundance. The talk of relegation is rediculous. Lets give the guy a chance.

and just remind me how two of his 3 seasons in the premiership ended despite him instilling enough discipline in the noses team to have one of the best defensive records.

To dismiss relegation with AM in charge is burying your head in the sand

I have faith with the players we have. I am not burying my head in the sand nor am I wallowing in self pity.

I think he will do well.

  13. I too find the graffiti atrocious.

However, that is what happens when you make absolutely headshaking decisions at top level.

Every fanbase have morons, and they show their capability in desperate hours...

You cannot justify this. It is impossible!

  14. My two pence for what its worth..

From the evidence available to me I am quite confident that AM will not be the next Villa Manager.

This is from a mixture of what in my opinion are sources I would take over what I am told by the media Circus, the same media circus who in the last 2 weeks alone have at some point guaranteed 1 of at least 5 managers with the next 24 hours etc.. the fact is they don't know there arse from their elbow when it comes to this board and they build up on what little snippets they can get until it spills over and people start to take it as gospel, FFS you only have to look at the number of players at team get linked with in the papers and how many actually happen for an example of this.

And now this statement from the BCFC board just makes me think it's even more unlikely, it's just not the way that this board works what the **** have they done in the last 5 years to deserve such vitriol? do you think they have had a mental breakdown and suddenly have no clue what to do? The appointment of GH may not have panned out as planned, but you could see the logic to it and it met all of the criteria mentioned in the statement tonight.

That leads me on to statements the only things we have heard officially are in regards to Martinez and Interviewing AM, the first of these were driven by Whelan mouthing off to the press who in turn make up their own story which suddenly is stated as fact on talkshite, SSN, so we make a statement which rubbishes all the shite that the media had been pedaling by clarifying that it was decided days ago that we were not even meeting Martinez, if whelan hadn't mouthed of none of these facts would be in the public domain and people would still be of the mantra he turned us down.

Tonights statement in my opinion was made due to the constant moaning and whining of the want it now generation and is very carefully worded are we the **** going to employ AM, if you go back and read it again the whole statement is a contradiction to them employing AM as he meets none of the aforementioned criteria GH did , the only reason he is mentioned (right at the bottom I may add) is because the BCFC chairman has come out and mentioned us (similar to Whelan) other wise I think that paragraph would not have been on there and it would just have been a statement to appease, finally the reason they do go into detail is to show that the fact he has been at BCFC should not stop him from being able to apply and be interviewed and rightly so, thats all it doesn't say he has the job, that is the medias take.

There has never been anything official on Hughes, Ancelloti, Jol, Mclaren, Benitez, Moyes all anyone is going on is what the media have drummed up, maybe there are some grains of truth in what has been said about any of the above candidates the only way we would / will ever know is with official statements.

Personally I fully expect David Moyes to be the new Villa manager come 1st of July

    You are gonna be disappointed!

If Blues succeed with there injunction - doesn't that leave villa in the very position that they have been so keen to avoid - No manager for pre season training. - What a f*n Mess

I doubt Blues will get there injunction. Pannu has been too loose lipped on contract details, the e-mail and the statement on the website pretty much saying that if AM did not get them up next season he would be sacked.

I am sure we have covered ourselves also.

  16. This is mindboggling. Mark Hughes is available yet we wouldn't speak to him because he resigned as Fulham manager. Two weeks later Alex Mcleish resigns at Scum and we interview him. Randy what is the difference?

I would to like to know after the shock announcement what your vision is for the next five years for this wonderful club we all support.

You are completely out of touch with the fans so please do us all a favour and put the club up for sale and go back to America and take the rest of the board with you. This is a shambles now and you have made Villa a laughing stock with the media.

You may not agree with Randy's choice, but to tell him to do one...do me a favour! After everything he has done so far he deserves some respect.

The difference between Hughes and McLeish is the nature of the departure. Ie the Blues' boards interference and actions.

  17. Alex McLeish's Claret & Blue army!

Oh man, just seeing that in writing :puke:

Maybe so. I have always said that I wanted a manager with something to prove. By god McLeish has go alot to prove.

I will back the board, manager, players and club.
