Trivia of the day

Very good performance and result. We did well to keep them out in 2nd half. Cash, Buendia (1st half) and Ramsey had good games. Unfortunately I am less and less keen on Watkins up front. 

I think we deserve to be in the lead.  Accept that up till the goal our play in the final third was frustrating but we had more shots on target and midfield play at times was very good.

Just shows how far we have to go before we get anywhere near top 4. We were very poor imo.

His best game to date imo.

OK so we just went in the total opposite direction. 

Instead of going Gung ho we played super defensive and just invited them onto us. Looking at the game plan we were never gonna get anything from the game. If we did it'd be a daylight robbery. 20 shots against. Below 40 % possession. Only 70 % pass accuracy. We registered zero shots on target. 

That wasn't a good defensive performance. It was panicky, last ditch and chaotic. Not sustainable. 

Listen. The previous games has been good and encouraging. Today was disappointing, and it has to be OK to say that without people losing their shit over it. 

Still fully behind Gerrard so don't twist my words. It's just criticism of a performance, that is it. We move on.

We were far, far more positive against city. 

Rubbish, we could have been torn a new one today but were’nt because we played for a point and nearly got it.

Many people here are grasping at straws. We defended very well but even a point wasnt realistic. They were and are, unsurprisingly, a much better team. Our shout for a penalty was very weak and the Ref had imo a good game. I never like to lose but people have to get a sense of perspective, we are miles behind Liverpool atm and there is no shame in 1-0 at Anfield.

Now bring on Abu Dhabi FC and their new nameless wunderkind!!! 

Nakamba seems to have had a new lease of life these last two games. He was my MOTM v Brighton and is so far for this game.

Have had my doubts about Ramsey but he is getting better and growing in confidence every game.

Like every other supporter, I have no idea whether SG will do well for Villa. In some ways I am past caring. False Dawn should be our middle name.  

On the other hand, I hope we are a match made in heaven and that we lift the European Cup (or whatever it is called now!) in 4/5 years time.

It is an incredibly sad situation. For every Villa fan the ultimate dream is to either play for the club or lead us to victory.
