  1. For me the best full back at the club.Is not there yet, but has good pace, defensively quite good, good feet, good cross. Not that hes going to be as good as, but reminds me of a young Asley Cole.

  2. Fantastic insight yet again CI.

Benteke is a better player than Bent, much as i like Bent, the system played yday suits us better, and suits Weimann/Gabby/N'Zog better, that is why PL persists with it and why Bent does'nt play.

Personally i'd sell him, he has done a good job for us, his debut was a magical night, but time for both sides to move on.

  3. For me Boggies are our natural enemy.Longest rivals, closest rivals, and were i came from, Perry Barr, more numerous, and more rivalry.

We did give them there nickname, and i don't want them to like us, i quite like that most of their supporters dislike us more than they do the Wolves.

  4. As a manager, you get judged on the players you buy, and what you do with the players you have inherited.

For me, yday proved 2 points.PL is a good manager, and the "academy" players aren't quite good enough.

Benteke, is as good a foward as i've seen at VP, and he cost £7m, absolute bargain. On top of that Westwood looks a very prospect, what a pass for the 2nd goal, and Ron Vlaar looks a snip at £3m.Bennett will prove to be a bargain, and Lowton, will be at the least , a good squad player. So that's HIS signings.

N'Zog, had probably his best game yday, playing as a floating player behind Benteke, and has shown a good attitude since coming back.good management, or coincidence?

Gabby has shown hes a good squad player at the least, Weimann has developed into a 1st teamer.Guzan has been given a chance, and his performances have justified it, again good management.

    We are not far off.

  5. HH, and VC may be right, there may be no further investment by RL, maybe he has had enough and decided to rein in his spending.

But that would'nt make sense. His investment , AVFC, would diminish in value significantly if we were to be relegated. It would be like owning a house and refussing to repair a leaky roof, a little investment would secure the property, and maintain its worth.

Maybe its a ploy. The Jan transfer window is notoriously expensive, maybe PL, and RL, are playing a game of poker with the agents, and waiting for better terms, and expectations of them before doing any deals, otherwise i do think we are in trouble.

  6. He is our most important player......everything goes through him, his 1st season in the Prem, he's 21, he's going to have lulls in his performances.

I thought he played ok last night, created nearly all the chances, and played well with Bent imho.

  7. Bannan's a nice footballer, but unless he plays alongside a beast of a midfielder like Diame, or Sandro for example, then he is too much of a lightweight.Bannan is the kind of player, that if you have faith in him, you build your team around. He would need at least 2 defensive minded midfielders alongside him imho.

Xavi has Busquets behind him, who is an incredibly underrated player.

  8. Reminds me of Dean Glover, good on the ball, a nice footballer, but too slow and too weak to play CH.A 4th division CF could/should have got about 3/4 goals last night, and that was down to Clarks inadequacies.A nice bloke, but not good enough.

  9. Lescott, 30, for £10m, or Olsson, 27? for £3m...........Olsson from the Boggies for me, and then use the money to buy Adem, whatever his name is from St Etienne, and then get Sissokho , who is out of contract in the summer.

  10. Not sure why people are having a go at Bennett tbh.One of the better players yday, put the only decent balls into the box, and was sound defensively.Played well agianst Spuds and kept Lennon quiet as well.

Lowton on the other hand has been awful the last 2/3 games.Gave 2 goals away against Spuds, and at least 1 yday .He needs a rest.

  11. In the last 3 games he has played against Valencia..........best right sided player in the league, Aguero......one of the best strikers in the world, and Oxlade-Chamberlain......a supposed new superstar, and i think has acquitted himself very well.Had a dodgy end to the 1st half tonight, at fault for Ures winner, but overall very capable. The one thing he does better than Bennett, is he supports the attack better.Plays the LB role the way it should be played, got good acceleration, does'nt get beaten that often....cost how much?

He ensures that LB is not a priority.

  12. At the risk of getting another "warning", what happened to the streams links yday?

Made an enquiry on the match thread, i know it says no mention, but where else was i supposed get as an immediate response as possible?

Has the site been "threatened" by copyright laws?

  13. Very impressed with him yday, can see why he compares himself to Carrick.Nice footballer who tries to keep the ball, but more importantly always tries to be positive, in contrast to Delph and KEA who are too safe sometimes.

  14. No CI , Albrighton can't create. In the last 12 months has completely lost his confidence/ability.

He has as good a cross on him as anyone, a Beckhamesque ability if you like, but we haven't seen that ability in 12 months.I hope he gets his back, as he comes across as a nice kid.

  15. For all their faults, Ireland and N'Zog are the only players we have in our squad who can create.Holman can't, Gabby can't, Albrighton can't.

We have no alternative atm but to play Ireland and N'zog, with for me Delph and KEA holding and Weimann playing wide to Bent.No good going on about how bad he is, we have no alternative.

  16. I like him.Has good pace, plays the simple ball, closes down well, starting to be a key player. The problems are in front of him.Gabby, Holman, N'Zog, Albrighton, Ireland, haven't been creative enough. One or two of them need to step up.Keep playing KEA and Delph together.

  17. I'll stick my neck out here.He is a better player at 19, than Cahill was, and he will be an England International.

Never been over convinced about Clark, but i am about Baker.Nice lad as well apparently.

  18. We've swapped the Dutch C/H for the Welsh C/H.Not a bad deal in my eyes.

Collins was a committed defender, who was prone to lunge in, and either give silly free kicks away or get caught out of position,Would have preferred Dunne to go, but want both to go along with Warnock and Hutton.

Would be delighted if Douglas comes in tbh.

  19. Capoue and Sissokho.Double signing as our big signing.

Carroll is far too expensive, and i believe too immobile for the way Lambert wants to play.Apart from Bent, i' m not sure about the rest of the fowards. For me it is make or break season for Gabby.Steady improvement under MON, 2 shit seasons under 2 different managers since, and signs of a bed attitude.Weimann looks lively, but lacks pace, Fonz is hard to judge, might be a step too far.I think Rodrigues, who has gone to Southampton would have been a very good buy, but we probably need a 25/26 striker from abroad, a la Cisse.
