If ever there was a more pointless meeting.....
So lenders have said they will agree, temporarily, to not repossess until you are 12 months in arrears. There will be an end date to the this agreement though, so you can imagine how quickly they will pounce once the moratorium ends.....
Also - they have agreed to let borrowers switch to interest only for up to 6 months, no questions asked. What they're not saying is that in 6 months time, your repayments will need to be recalculated as you'll owe the same, but have a shorter term in which to repay the balance. An extension of the term may also be possible, which might cancel this out though.
And to those hundreds of thousands of borrowers already on interest only, where the term of the mortgage is irrelevant - not a peep.
Get the feeling the government are kicking the can down the road, avoiding the issue until the next general election, where my dog has more chance of being voted in than this pathetic bunch.

Same, just saw it by chance. From the comments it suggests the hub5 is a big improvement over the hub3 for signal around the house.

I have the Hub4 and that was  massive improvement on 3

We're thinking about getting a puppy and curious if anyone had a recommendation for where to get it from. Would prefer a purebred or cross so that we have an idea of what we're getting (tempament and health wise) but not a deal breaker. Main concern is not wanting to use a puppy farm etc.

Does it have to be a puppy and does it or does it have to be from a breeder, have you considered getting a rescue? We got our Staffie from the RSPCA and its the best thing we did, and I happily have another rescue. And with the cost of living crisis I can imagine quite a few pets being abandoned :(

Does anybody ever get the urge to want to have a full body health check? With all the cancer awareness and stuff thrown in your face every day I'd be lying if I said my anxiety wasn't 'flaring' thinking about it. I've not got any symptoms of illness or anything, but I just keep thinking "What if?" and a part of me, for peace of mind more than anything, would like to have ALL THE SCANS to find out.

I've lost 2 people in the past 2 months to cancer, and my Granddad was given months last October - so I think it's just a bit close to home at the mo.

I thought about it, my mom died from cancer 2 yrs ago, around the same time my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer (all clear now) and my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (clear now) but the cancer had already spread so he's now terminal and he's now been diagnosed with Crohns. I had the forms to complete for Gene testing to see if I too had the cancer gene but decided against it as I was unsure if I wanted to walk around know that I could have it

    Ben Foster.

I don't mind him having a hobby. Doing a YouTube. Footballers have loads of spare time and it's no issue...

But this guys short videos keep popping up on my YT and I can't help watching them because he's fascinating. I suppose I should be pissed off at myself.

He's such an absolute gimp. 40 year old man child. Always positive. Always chirpy. So excitable all the time. Like mate, just calm the **** down.

Imagine having to work with this bellend.

He did a great one with Emi, well worth a watch with Emi saying mate practically every other word 😀

Have you spoken to any specialist mortgage brokers mate?

Tried West Brom who are meant to do special products for Mortgage Prisoners but computer said no. In a better frame of mind as the wife has just reminded me that there is nothing that can't be fixed.....well apart from murder 🤣

Have you tried meeting with the bank to talk about restructuring payments?  Try citizens advice bureau.  I am pretty sure if people are struggling to pay they have to try and help out.

No bank involved. The Tories sold off the so called toxic debts to American Vulture funds, they are classed as closed book lenders and aren't really regulated by the FCA and can do what the hell they like. I've never missed a mortgage payment but other bills have slipped due to this (now all up to date). The treasury have been saying they are looking into a solution now for the past 2 years and all John Glen has done is mislead parliament with bogus figures which have been proven wrong by Martin Lewis as he funded an independent report into the Mortgage Prisoner  situation. I can't wait for tomorrow to get on a plane thanks to my dad paying for us, at least I can forget my worries for a week even if I'm stuck with 2 baggies fans

Woah. There is more to life than a bit of money, the wife and lad will value you way above anything else.

I know, but it's not about money. As a family we have been sold out by the Tories after the banking crisis, unable to move mortgage, in the eyes of a lender I cant afford to pay hundreds a month less , credit rating trashed from trying to live and keep a roof over their heads. I feel like a complete failure and no matter how many times I'm told it's not my fault I still feel like it is.

BoE Interest rate increased to 1% (highest rate since 2009).

Oh joy. Look forward to my interest over 5% now :( Sometimes I wish I'd meet with an accident so the house is paid off and the Wife and lad have a bit of money :(

Try 3.17% standard variable. Mortgage prisoner ftw!

I can't move to a different lender to save money because, wait for it... I "can't afford it".

Totally feel your pain. Im in the same situation 4.6% SVR. Can't afford to pay less apparently, John Glenn MP has kicked the can down the road for the past 2 yrs promising to help but he's done bugger all, @Anthony are you on Facebook as this page is worth while joining UK Mortgage Prisoners they're campaigning to get the SVR capped at 2.5% but Glenn said it wasn't fair on existing lenders. Thing is our mortgages are owned by American Vulture funds who aren't regulated and can do what they want :(

With the Google Nest ones, one is wired into your router. The other(s) can be anywhere in range.

I turn the wifi built in to my router off.

Does turning off the router wifi make that much of a difference? I currently have a Tenda Nova mesh system but still have the wifi on my VM superhub. I make sure all the wife and lads crap is connected to the Nova and my stuff connected to the Router
