  1. I know, West and Zampella were the main ones though at IW and the team before that, was just referring to them as IW, as thats what most know them as.

Anyway. Yes Activision own the rights to Call of Duty. But when the legal battle first started Activision owned the rights to Call of Duty. But West + Zampella themselves owned the rights to the name 'Modern Warfare' and also owned the rights to any 'Call of Duty' game based after Vietnam.

That is how it stood when West + Zampella took them to court and vice versa. Then W+Z's argument was that bonuses were held back considerably and Acti were looking for a reason to fire them and made it impossible to work there, bodyguards on the doors, searching their files etc.

And Acti's argument was that W+Z broke contract and tried to talk to EA and other potential partners whilst under contract. Not really fussed either way to be honest but anything that stops Activision being able to whore out another franchise is a win for me.

  2. Examples?

Infinity Ward (Well, West and Zampella, but for all intents and purposes they ARE IW). First by EA. Then by Activision and probably by EA again sometime soon. Although they are only EA Partners this time around rather than actually owned by EA/Activision.

To be honest. Respawn Entertainment will probably create the next big thing. They did it with Medal of Honor and CoD anyway..

Can't see Battlefield taking off in a big way again as that must-have console shooter.. Their tech is good but the brand name just doesnt seem to have it with the mass audience. Maybe a change in name to make it seem new could work

BEsides, how are they releasing Modern Warfare 3 when West and Zampella own the rights to the Modern Warfare name not EA? + they own the rights to any Call of Duty based after Vietnam (modern war). HAve I missed a major step in the legal battle where EA suddenly own these things again?

  3. Community has Paintball Part 2? Gotta catch up ive missed a few episodes.

Chuck has been great too, only got into that a few weeks ago..

Hawaii Five 0 isnt bad for a casual viewing either,

Nikita is fcking Awesome, bit dissappointed V has been cancelled. Ecstatic Fringe and Chuck got renewed.

  4. Expected Champions League as a minimum but going to instead get 6th in La Liga? I'll admit I dont know much about him but he has seemed very promising. Didnt realise they were underperforming though. Maybe some La Liga watchers can chime in?

If we want Champions League in probably the hardest league in the world to do so... Is taking a guy underperforming in La Liga worth a punt? Obviously talking long term. I'd be thrilled with 7th or above next season but we need a long-term manager.

From what I'd heard Quique was always a promising manager, half-decent football and had a great season last season. but I dont watch La Liga enough to chime in properly. Gut instinct would be 'yes'. But somebody who cant perform in La Liga would usually get a 'no' from me.

  5. Best off booking the Official travel. only takes 40 mins on train to get to Aston for like £4, 5 min walk (obviously) then get the coaches down. Usually only £20 there and back.

Never heard of any coaches leaving the 'ditch for away days, If there is PM me so i know for the future (Y)

  6. Moyes apparently went nuts after their game today, nobody from the backroom team or players were allowed to talk to the media because Moyes was disgusted with their performance.

Took a bit of stick from their fans saying he has been way too negative at times this season playing 4-5-1 etc.

  7. This doesn't look good for Randy. The general was promising us action - before today I thought the worst case scenario was GH staying on a manager - but now a new nightmare seems to be unfolding - that of GH lurking in the background, sometimes well enough to attend other times masterminding things from his sick bed - and a combination of GMAC - and another minor appointment to appease the fans - Wilkins, Houghton , Southgate or someone of that ilk !

Wot a bloody mess - and one that will haunt Lerner - his ownership which started so promisingly - now looks set for mediocrity .......at best

The General can promise all he likes, sure he's not even around when the shit hits the fan, i wouldn't say it's his fault tbh, I'd say it's coming down the line to him..
General's absence is down to the fact he has a new job in the US.
Then his tread should be closed. What's the point in leaving comments??.

He said he'll be here once a week. Guy missed a week. No big deal. He sits on the board of many companies, a school, has a family and sits on the board of our club.. Pretty sure we can cut him some slack for missing a week on the message boards.

  8. They should all give us the longest and most drawn out Lap of Apologies ever experienced, shake hands with as many fans as possible, pose for picture and say sorry for what they've done this year.

  9. It is largely a question of details: being in the dressing room 30 minutes before the session starts; keeping your things neat and tidy; sitting at the table to eat together, and not reading a newspaper while doing so and being on the team bus punctually after a game.

A snippet from Van Gaals book on his coaching philosophies at Ajax. Our squad was whinging about no mobiles in the sheds? This would be a bad appointment, in my opinion his methods would not work in England, much the same way as Ramos failed methods at Spurs.

LVG is a much better manager than Ramos. Our players have been pampered, they should be able to go a training session without their phone and a meal involved in the conversation for 40k a week. LVG is a very good manager and hopefully the players that moaned about Houllier wont be here next season anyway... Besides if the media is anything to go by... Houllier isntthe one they have a problem with. It's McAllister, so maybe the phone thing didnt piss off the players and LVG would be a good appointment.

He's a great manager and It would be a huge coup for the club.

  10. Whats this like on iPhone/iPad the full game or a filtered down version?

    Anyone know...?

    Like the PSP version.

Err ok and what is that like compared to the main version, filtered down etc, poor?

Very filtered down, not as good but not bad for a little while its just nowhere near as in depth as the main one.

  11. In fairness, the current Ashley Young song can be traced back to this thread.

Plenty of us are Holte Enders, myself included, though I suspect that the majority of chants have their origins in the away day pubs.

Yes away day pubs is the best way to get new songs going, most of the old songs you youngsters sing all originated from the old Aston Tavern,

and most written by Keith Bryenton.

    Hi Keith Bryenton.

  12. Villas Boas

    Hiddink

    Van Gaal

    Rikjaard

    Deschamps

    Loew

    Moyes

    Flores

    Jol

    ----

    Benitez

    Hughes

    Lambert

would be the managers I'd be looking at this summer, obviously some ones that are unlikely but hey ho, worth a shot. Thats probably the order I'd take them in aswell to be honest. With anything below the ----'s a last resort.
