    * Nothing to do with the post, just that it's all I think of when I see your username.

    Gesundheit.

That’s not where the username comes from, but I’ll take it. Better than Pissflaps, at any rate 😉

To be fair, it's been reported that Barkley was our first choice, but we were willing to settle for RLC.

When the chance came up that we could get Barkley we rushed back in for Barkley instead.

That being said, yes, likely bollox.

I’m pretty sure that’s the account that a few weeks ago promised news at a certain time. When that time came round, he openly admitted he was a fake and made fun of all the people following him for believing ITK accounts on Twitter.

  3. Seems like a nice guy, just didn’t have the drive to force himself into the starting eleven, and it’s not like the RAM position hasn’t been up for grabs. I wish him well, he’d be a good pickup for a Championship team.

Hopefully this means another AM coming in soon, as it seems strange to terminate a contract otherwise. That sounds like a last resort move to free up space and wages.

It also means freeing up the best shirt number in professional sports. Hopefully the next player who takes it will be worthy of it 😁

  4. Picked up Nier: Automata on the Big in Japan PSN sale.

It's pretty good, and I'm not usually one for hack and slash or bullet hell. The combat is fun, the dodge/parry is infinitely forgiving (though I'm only playing on Normal difficulty, admittedly) and the upgrades aren't as daunting as I first thought.

The music and visuals are great and whilst it's not quite Catherine levels of Japanese bonkers… ness, it still has it's moments. Certainly a niche game though.

  5. Very happy with this, I've always rated him. I don't even mind if it's not a loan-to-buy, it's not like he's really at the stage where he needs much development.

Good statement signing from the club and will hopefully give us a bit more quality in midfield and help us maintain possession. Feel a bit for Connor – assuming that's whose spot he'll be taking – but hopefully that'll light a fire under him.

True, but you'd like to think we've given Bremen a deadline for this to be wrapped up this week. If they don't play ball then hopefully we'll use the final week of the window to approach our second choice target and get it sorted quickly.

I guess that's what happens when you feed the animals at the social media zoo!

He was better off keeping his mouth shut like I should have about Rashica.

Some of the w*nkers we have as fans of this club actually makes me cringe. It's embarrassing.

You get them with all clubs, mate. Unfortunately they’re the ones that shout loudest, but I choose to believe they’re the minority.

I‘m sure I’m not the only one who has really appreciated and enjoyed your information regarding Rashica, but I’d understand if you felt like keeping stuff to yourself from now on. It no doubt seems like a thankless task.

  8. I can understand people's concerns, but I'm always of the opinion that we should give all the players we sign a chance before writing them off.

He hasn't even signed yet, let alone kicked a football wearing a Villa shirt, and who knows what's been going on at Lyon behind the scenes? Sometimes a player just doesn't work out somewhere for multiple reasons, but at another club, in a different country and working under a new manager and coaches, they could become a different player. Assuming those stats posted above are correct, they're not even that bad.

If we end up signing him we should give the lad a chance regardless. That's not me ignoring the opinions of Lyon fans or deluding myself because there's a good chance he'll be a Villa player by the end of this week if reports are to be believed, it's just me being optimistic and open-minded. He's played for some great clubs before and he's now coming to a club that escaped relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth last season.

We need to be realistic as to the sort of players we can attract right now. It's going to take a few seasons establishing ourselves as Premier League perennials before we can attract the kinds of players all the fans can agree on.

So Callum Wilson prefers Newcastle and panic begins to creep in.

Alot can happen in 7 days in football.

Am I one of the few actually pleased we are not signing shite like Callum Wilson?

I look at it as a sign we are looking to do bigger things.

I’ll be pleased if we don’t get Wilson, don’t get me wrong, but it worries me we were in for him in the first place. For that reason, I’m struggling a little to believe that we’re looking at more ambitious targets, but I remain hopeful.

I must admit, as good a job as Smith has done with us in his time here, I do worry that he’s a big reason as to why we may be struggling to attract quality players, particularly those from outside the UK.

It would definitely be harsh on him, but I can’t help but wonder if we’ll be sitting here in a few months time wishing our owners had been more ruthless and brought a higher profile coach in this summer.

There’s still time for us to make some good transfers, though. Here’s hoping we do.

Is this one of those Mandela effect things? I would have gone with Avenue as well.

Must be. The alliteration of Acacia Avenue also just sounds right.

I actually thought it was Acacia Avenue at first, but decided to do my research and check the intro on YouTube before I posted. I was as surprised as you are.

Just dawned on me... today's the day the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake is released.

A bit niche, but I like it.

  12. I've gone back to playing The Witcher 3 – I was on my second playthrough because my girlfriend loves to watch me play and she'd never seen it before. I'd also never completed the Blood & Wine DLC first time round as I got distracted by other games.

When I stopped playing last (mainly due to The Last of us Part II) I was just starting Hearts of Stone, so I'm about halfway through that at the moment. I've got some annoying bugs that have stopped me from completing quests though. I think I read that CD Projekt Red have come out and basically said they can't fix some of them, which is a bit disappointing. I'm talking specifically about the Wolf Armour treasure hunts, and there's one in the Hearts of Stone DLC that's bugged and won't give me a diagram I need to complete a quest. I think I read somewhere that they're fixed on NG+, but there's no way I'm going back and playing through from the beginning anytime soon. I would have done that on my second playthrough, but unfortunately my PS4 wiped all the save data so my second playthrough is actually starting from scratch.

I've also been playing Hollow Knight on my Switch, which took a bit of getting used to initially (it was really due to not having a map in the first area and getting bored because I couldn't find the bloody cartographer) but I'm properly into it now. It's a great little game and looks gorgeous.

Then there's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 to look forward to. I'm also about halfway through Ghost of Tsushima, but I'm honestly a little bored with that one.

  13. Just bought it. It's downloading as we speak.

These games are the epitome of nostalgia for me and very much a part of my formative years. They were a massive reason why I got into rock and punk music and learned to play guitar, as well as why I was a bit of a skater boy when I was in my early teens (though I couldn't skate to save my life).

Looking forward to playing this tonight after work. They're the sort of games that you can just jump into for half an hour at a time if you so wish, and I feel like a lot of the games I gravitate towards nowadays aren't necessarily made for short spurts of playtime like that.
